Our dog Ginger was half German Shepherd and she was very loving and tender with 3 Jack Russells, a cat, and a pit bull mix, as well as children of various ages. They are a wonderful breed. Most of these little dogs were bred for a specific purpose, including ironically enough killing rats. Don't give them a hard time because some people stick them in their handbag.
