Yes those days late in the 60s...walking to our small market in Gatundu, Kenya before the "factual Film" every month.....already wondered about that Kinshasha band.
J'avais 12 ans quand cette chanson faisait rage! Elle me rappelle mes enseignants aujourd'hui décédés! Surtout un certain Damien Kirusha (RIP). TAMBOLA NA MOKILI
So that you may really understand the deph of Zairean music talent, listen to this track. Bokelo was one of the late 60's Rumba bloomers at a time when other greats like Franco, Tabuley, Dr. Nico, Verkeys and many others were taking center stage. I believe competition in terms of writing songs while blending in unique beats was at its height. So that you had a diversified genre in both melody and instrumentation but united in one thing---Rumba beat!
Apollo Komesha was the dance. The Song could have been produced earlier, but we really danced to it in 1969 and 1970, Though still very young I was havoc when this song climaxed. The other tough one is Navanda Ndumba also by Bokelo

The dance was "pasco", isn't? I was like 4 years old. Ah God! Everything is just vanity.
