we have never held a concert titled Nazza Gwaaki so we have never directly benefitted from peforming the song.We take pride tho in having participated in a project that was geared to help the Philly Lutaaya Initiative and they indeed have cds of the compilation on sale that we as NGONI are not beneficiary to the proceeds.

Im not sure whether your message was a negativity target towards NGONI redoing Philly Lutaaya's song but i will briefly acknowledge your concerns and continue to state that we were approached by Philly's organisation to redo NAZZA GWAAKI and we are fully within the law.

in response to ritaheliba,yes the copyright law exists but i guess what she really wanted to knw is whether NGONI had permission to redo the late legend Philly Lutaaya's song.The NGONI rendition of Nazza Gwaaki is part of the Lutaaya family initiative to rejuvenate his songs and is on the compilation of Philly's renditions from many other Ugandan Artistes,released in NOv 2007.Thanks for the concern posted.Regards NGONI
