There is no "trap" because people with ruddy/red pale skin lacking melanin can never be "original" people. Europeans are "carbon copies" of the original people of the planet, dark-melanin people. Very well said... but, I disagree on a minor, semantic level. "race" or "color" in social terms is a complete social construct. The unfortunate thing, though these are not scientific terms, they are still real. The power structure is determined by those at the top. Black, White, Asian, Poor, Trash, etc.. are all designated by those who have the power to designate them. This is important when you are denied rights based on the socially constructed categories.

The term "black" before the 1960's was a negative term that wasn't accepted in our communities. Then all of a sudden we started making songs, social movements and literature about it that said it was OK. If we wouldn't have embraced that label "black", then it couldn't apply to us. It takes a group effort to embrace these terms, it takes a group effort to denounce them as well. You have to go back before the social construct, there you will find the treaties, etc. that is recognized by law.

I might as well say that I don't ascribe to the notion of the "Atlantic Slave Trade". I don't believe that 100 million Africans were shipped here to the Americas on "slave" ships. I believe that the "Negroes" were already here and were actually prisoners of war. Just as the Moors were in Spain, they were here in the Americas, "Al-Moorica", Al-Mareka, or "Al-Morocco".

actually you can't make that assertion because during the slave trade many of these nations did not sell out their own people. They would invade their neighbors. I am in all agreement that this ridiculous form of labelling "black and white" is wrong - I don't like to even refer to people of a different cultural heritage by the colour of their skin pigmentation as it doesn't justify their nationality. I can see your point. I think some people just have a difficult time accepting their origins. I have as much reverence for the Zulus as I would the Vikings, and the same for the Moors as I did for the Teutons and Slavs. There is no need to jump on to another bandwagon simply because it we ascribe it as so. Well, what i said is not entirely correct, the belief that the sun revolves around the earth was adopted sometime during the roman empire, but the greeks (whose science predates moorish science) discovered many things including magnetism, astronomy, chemistry and physics.
