I'm hearing echoes of the Bee Gees harmonies along with The Beatles. THe girls could have made a better rendition of this, eh? Fun to hear, as it's new to me, apart from the 'lift' taken to 'I Know Him So Well'. BIts of 10CC, too..
The Beatles influence in some songs by ABBA is quite clear, this is an example, though ABBA's quality standard was always so high, that this song didn't make the cut for a further work and release.
I don't know if anyone noticed, but the part of the song following the chorus that goes "what a good life, lying laid back..." has the same melody from the song "I Know Him So Well" from the musical Chess, which B&B did with Tim Rice. It's the part that goes "Wasn't it good, wasn't he fine..." Funny how that really amazing part of the song came from this "throwaway" demo song.
Björn and Benny sing this song together, from the first line to the end. The girs are not on this demo. You are right, it´s Benny with the high vocals.
I'm not hearing any harmonies at all, not sure where you get that from! it's a single melody sung by the guys and girls, no harmonisation at all

Genius songwriting as usual, but we can tell why the girls usually sang :)

Great find for all Abba fans. If you put one picture up then you grab people's attention. But yeah it is all about their music. Thank you!
fav for sure.....

You should get more photos, or let the same picture from the beggining till the end. It was better only one picture, than see it all black!

Hey cool song... this should at least have been a B-side. ABBA didn't do many 'free and easy' songs

I just love that the chorus
"What a good life, lying laid back, Like an old railroad bum by the track"
is what later became
"Wasn't it good?, Wasn't he fine?, Isn't it madness, He can't be mine?"
in the Chess hit I Know Him So Well

As strange as this sounds, I've always wondered if it was A and A or Benny doing the high backing vocals on the chorus. Does anyone know?
