  • Omg his guitar gear just melted my face

  • wait... so... huh?!?!?!

  • What make is the Volume Pedal / Wah? :S can't find it anywhere

  • the fly was the firstrock song i´ve heard in my life. it shocked me. so u2 was my entrance to the music...

  • unreal - operating that wall of controls on the rack looks harder than flying a 747....

  • at 0:46 on the skrydstrup there is a button named ''danish'' WTF is that?

  • Do you know if his AC30 has an effects loop? Does he uses his delay effects on an effects loop or directly into the input?

I am asking this because, as his AC30 is a vintage one, maybe it doesn't have and fx loop

  • What is the name of the small... I mean HUGE pedalboard !?

  • @Trailer4Yours

    its a Skrydstrup SC1 + Extensions

  • Incredible, always loved The Edges guitar sounds, it's not how fast you play it's how you use those notes, Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd prime example, most of his solo's are single sustain notes with plenty of feel creating such a smooth feel. The Edge a living legend in my book.

  • guitar pron

  • if want to sound like the edge in a cheaper way, just buy a POD HD500, a fender strato, Vox AC4tv and some herdim picks.

  • Does anyone know what effect he uses to get the distortion sound during the chorus of Beautiful Day?

  • @MrCheesepizzaisgood he always (exept a few songs) uses his own custom made line 6 unit

  • @MrCheesepizzaisgood

    Pod Pro;-)

  • what devices does he use to get the shimmer?

  • @MrCheesepizzaisgood

    AMS DMX1580 DELAY+LEXICON PCM70

    on the 360tour..

  • @MrCheesepizzaisgood you should check out the new eventide space. it's pretty new and has the shimmer in it.

  • i like how when youre showing off his rack you just skip the sdd 3000's and what they do, seeing as how they are responsible for his "signature" sound from the early records...just sayin!

  • cuanta mierda

  • His rig is amazing but Dallas is clearly essential to keeping the whole thing working during shows. I'm trying to figure out how I could send Dallas a remote trigger that I've invented - anyone willing to help me? There's a video of it on my channel. Cheers!

  • Classic, Fender Blues Junior, who need big amps to sound good ;)

  • Anyone know what those two units are @ 1:33?

  • Man I wanna guitar tech that controls all my presets from backstage >.<

  • seems kinda... unnecessary.

  • Got less impressed by every unit/rack that was displayed. How much vintage Vox and Fender can be heard thru THAT?! I know, Bradshaw designs those rigs with a dry signal path, mixed by the wet sound. 4 x 2290 + 3 refrigerators packed with more effects! Is he actually playing guitar?

  • @locoboxspaceship

Dude, it's not like he's playing through all that stuff at the SAME TIME. If you can't distinctly hear Edge's 60's AC30 tone through what amounts to a EH Memory Man and a tubescreamer, then trust me, no one one cares if you think Edge is "playing guitar" or not.

  • @aintgottime2bleed78 Hey PAL! Knew I would get someone upset by that comment, you obviously care!

  • Where the f*ck is his MEMORY MAN ??? It's supposed to be his most favourite pedal and he uses just some digital simulations? Bloody digital devices ? I'm really astonished because I thought there would be like 4 Memory men...well digital crap is taking over...

  • @Budvaarek

Have you ever played through a Korg SDD 3000 or a TC 2290? They're hardly some "crap" digital simulation.

  • @Budvaarek Edge still has the Mem Man, he just keeps it backstage with Dallas. Paul must have forgotten to show it to us.

  • @MichaelD8393 THX...and he has it that way for changing the settings I guess...

  • @Budvaarek you got right, and your welcome.

  • @Budvaarek lol, memory man he used in early years, when he didnt need dual delay settings etc. When you have 3 different settings on 1 song, and you have 22 songs to play on show you can hardly use Memory man without presets and exact delay time in miliseconds..... And TC2290 and SDD delays are probably the best delays ever made my friend :)) not some digital crap....

  • I don't understand why edge uses 2 POD XT Ultras. 1 alone holds more presets than u2 has songs.

Good god that is an amazing rig

  • @JIMMYJIBLETS I would say he's got the second one for backup

  • so much useless stuff lol.

  • "Edge" ? ...

  • very cool.. nice video!!! ; )

  • doesnt John Petrucci (spelling?) use one of those controlers?

  • @RyanMartinMulcahey john's pedalboard is a bit simpler

  • Why oh why do people analyse this.We can all afford the amps, but we'll never afford the rig!

    Feck me,give it up lol...

  • I was stunned about was the Digitech Whammy onstage. I mean, Edge's got a switching system worth thousands and he's got an original Digitech Whammy ON THE STAGE? Lots of pro guys like David Gilmour have the whammy in the rack and control it via expression pedal, which is the safer way.

The Axe FX issue, it's a great sounding unit, but it cannot simulate everything. I tried the Axe-FX Ultra and it couldn't simulate my old GP-8 sounds. Great unit, but after all, it's just a simulator.

  • Has Edge ever heard of Axe FX?

  • @Zhorellski This was before the Axe FX rig, but it probably be a lot easier. Then again it might sound better as is.

  • looks like alien spacecraft to me.... all the flashing lights

  • What is that rack unit with the "SMS" on the left side of it?

  • What's the price of all of that?

  • @coolkid2446 Alot

  • @Zenon2006 Like?....

  • @coolkid2446 I don't know but I can tell you the rack equipment alone would run well into 5 figures. Those TC2290's, AMS delays and Korg SDD-3000's aren't made anymore and run well over 1,000 each used.

  • why want to sound like the edge? the edge is gold though, but if you want to be a great guitarist why not sound unique, bring something new, something unheard. That's what the edge himself said in some of the interviews i've seen

  • ... and here I was thinking Kirk Hammett packs a lot of shit... I stand corrected.

  • one word... DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN !!!!!!!!!! Thats a lot of effects

  • that's just ridiculous!!!

  • fucking hell thats aload of effects

  • wuhu! danish!

  • what brand is that volume wah "shimmer"? with that he creates those synth like sounds? or does he uses it like a volume, and delay and other effects¿

  • thats a long signal chain

  • I agree jingwah

  • I agree with you jingwa

  • line6 should release that gold custom made distortion modeler. edge's signature thingy

  • A guitar tech like Dallas can't be found

  • @ajaxrulzz I want one haha

  • Pete Cornish pedal board is all

  • Jesus Christ, i feel sorry for the guy who caries his gear

  • What the heck?!

I guess you most be pretty far away from reality to need about 30 guitars and two huge effect racks to be lucky.

Nothing against the pursuit of the perfect tone, but this is madness.

  • @framelessguitar isn't it more about the freedom to experiment with sounds rather than finding the perfect tone?

  • Those 2 Tc Electronic 2290's at 1:39. They're the best delay rack units ever made.

    Officially.

unfortunately they don't make them anymore. You can find some on Ebay though.

  • for like $2000 each

  • @octoberguitaru2

yeah, and he has for of them -.-

  • im pretty sure someones gonna get sued. ha

  • if u want to get most edge sounds all you need is distortion (ts-9 or big muff) and a good vintage delay pedal.

this will give you there classic songs but once you get into achtung baby its a little more complicated.

  • U2 are the greatest band ever and The Edge is the best guitarist ever. i bet you can't play guitar for shit.

  • "Some copies of famous guitars" WTF

  • my dream is to have same guitar rack like he.

  • It costs a fortune...

  • And all of that can finally be distilled to the Axe FX unit...one piece of hardware...got to love technology.

  • @stephenmccain

Axe FX for me is too digital.. its just different "animal"

  • fucking awesome

  • uses 17 guitars a night. HOLY CRAP. Crazy.... atleast he has people that take care/carry that bunch of gear for him ^^

  • ok I surrender !! :)

  • fuck me!

  • Holy shit.
