Incredible, always loved The Edges guitar sounds, it's not how fast you play it's how you use those notes, Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd prime example, most of his solo's are single sustain notes with plenty of feel creating such a smooth feel. The Edge a living legend in my book.
i like how when youre showing off his rack you just skip the sdd 3000's and what they do, seeing as how they are responsible for his "signature" sound from the early records...just sayin!
His rig is amazing but Dallas is clearly essential to keeping the whole thing working during shows. I'm trying to figure out how I could send Dallas a remote trigger that I've invented - anyone willing to help me? There's a video of it on my channel. Cheers!
Got less impressed by every unit/rack that was displayed. How much vintage Vox and Fender can be heard thru THAT?! I know, Bradshaw designs those rigs with a dry signal path, mixed by the wet sound. 4 x 2290 + 3 refrigerators packed with more effects! Is he actually playing guitar?
Dude, it's not like he's playing through all that stuff at the SAME TIME. If you can't distinctly hear Edge's 60's AC30 tone through what amounts to a EH Memory Man and a tubescreamer, then trust me, no one one cares if you think Edge is "playing guitar" or not.
Where the f*ck is his MEMORY MAN ??? It's supposed to be his most favourite pedal and he uses just some digital simulations? Bloody digital devices ? I'm really astonished because I thought there would be like 4 Memory men...well digital crap is taking over...
@Budvaarek lol, memory man he used in early years, when he didnt need dual delay settings etc. When you have 3 different settings on 1 song, and you have 22 songs to play on show you can hardly use Memory man without presets and exact delay time in miliseconds..... And TC2290 and SDD delays are probably the best delays ever made my friend :)) not some digital crap....
I was stunned about was the Digitech Whammy onstage. I mean, Edge's got a switching system worth thousands and he's got an original Digitech Whammy ON THE STAGE? Lots of pro guys like David Gilmour have the whammy in the rack and control it via expression pedal, which is the safer way.
The Axe FX issue, it's a great sounding unit, but it cannot simulate everything. I tried the Axe-FX Ultra and it couldn't simulate my old GP-8 sounds. Great unit, but after all, it's just a simulator.

@coolkid2446 I don't know but I can tell you the rack equipment alone would run well into 5 figures. Those TC2290's, AMS delays and Korg SDD-3000's aren't made anymore and run well over 1,000 each used.
why want to sound like the edge? the edge is gold though, but if you want to be a great guitarist why not sound unique, bring something new, something unheard. That's what the edge himself said in some of the interviews i've seen

Do you know if his AC30 has an effects loop? Does he uses his delay effects on an effects loop or directly into the input?
I am asking this because, as his AC30 is a vintage one, maybe it doesn't have and fx loop

if want to sound like the edge in a cheaper way, just buy a POD HD500, a fender strato, Vox AC4tv and some herdim picks.

I guess you most be pretty far away from reality to need about 30 guitars and two huge effect racks to be lucky.
Nothing against the pursuit of the perfect tone, but this is madness.

@framelessguitar isn't it more about the freedom to experiment with sounds rather than finding the perfect tone?

if u want to get most edge sounds all you need is distortion (ts-9 or big muff) and a good vintage delay pedal.
this will give you there classic songs but once you get into achtung baby its a little more complicated.
