Perhaps you've seen the disgustingly misleading Jim Martin ad claiming that Saxby wants to tack a 23% tax onto purchases.

Saxby supports FairTax, which is a complete elimination of the oppressive Income Tax, and replacement with a flat 23% Consumption Tax.

Jim Martin is just another dishonest Socialist Liberal, deceiving the populace.

The Fair Tax is a terrible idea. It will hurt low income families very badly, and it will not bring in the revenue that the government needs because there will be less consumption. So Jim Martin is right that a 23% sales tax is going to hurt the middle class.

Saxby Chambliss is also very misleading in his ads, like the one where he says that Martin let children die, which is actually false.

One more thing, Martin is a pretty conservative democrat.

Can you actually give any reasoning behind your empty claim that it will hurt the Lower Class? I seriously doubt you can, because FairTax harms nobody but the overseas Tax Havens, and the pocketbooks of the IRS.

It will hurt the lower class because they will be giving a lot more money away in taxes than they do now. Right now, lower income people don't have to pay much income tax because they can barely afford the necessities for their family. Therefore, abolishing income tax isn't going to have any impact on people already not paying an income tax. However, they will have to pay 16% more on what they buy. It makes no sense.

All Americans, regardless of class, will receive a prebate to cover all of the taxes they would have normally paid on all the essentials.

16% more on what they buy? Where on earth did you get that? You'll pay a flat 23% consumption tax, and the current income tax, which runs anywhere from 20% to 45% based on your bracket, will be eliminated.

I love how people don't take into account that the Fairtax doesn't eliminate the state sales tax which will rise when states recieve less money from the feds, and oh yea there is the whole repealing the 16th amendment thing which would require 3/4th of the states to be for it, and as far as I know there is little support outside of GA.

I support Martin because of Chambliss voting records on social issues. It shows him being nothing more than an immoral chauvenist biggot
