Afganistan is an extremely strong spiritual country with a high believe and faith in their religion that s why they never lost, Russia on the other hand is another very strong spiritualy and physically country but for other reasons . Where have you seen it? In the Netherlands people even don't know how great russian movies are and how good our actors are. Even when Night Watch and the Day watch was in the cinema all over the world, Holland was the only country where those 2 movies weren't in the cinema. I'm a russian, but living in the Netherlands, that's why I know...
I would say, take a look to the Admiral, that's also a very great movie!!!

I Guardiani della Notte/Giorno in Italy wer at cinema But in Italy we mainly know the old soviet movies (as Fate of a Man, Ballad of a Soldier and so.. ) not the newest. i've seen it in dvd in russian language with sub in english i was looking for a russian movie "The Star" and i've found this.. and was fantastic.
