@DanTheGerbil360 No, Edmund Ironsides did die in this way. How could Edward II have been killed by a viking hiding in a loo in the 14th century? Nobody knows for sure how Edward II died, anyway. Some sources say he was suffocated, crushed between two doors, or, most famously, had a red-hot poked shoved up his arse. There's nothing to do with vikings and swords and toilets in that story. Horrible Histories is very much correct.

I'm sorry but this is just an urban legend made up many years later, there's no evidence at all for how Edmund Ironside actually died. His body has never been located and we don't even know what city he died in. I think this programme is a good method of getting kids interested in history, but it would be much better if they stuck to information that is both interesting AND definitely true, of which there is plenty. With the current approach, they may as well just make stuff up completely.
