  • Awesome truck and I am amazed at what these diesels can do. Just watched one run 9's!!!! Still, the 'Vette driver in this video was TERRIBLE! (Leggio is right about ET's. Does not matter when they left the line,,,,the ET is the ET. Still, the 'Vette should have run much faster.)

  • Why are people arguing? Do you really give a fuck? God damn.

  • are you running twins

  • @MrJoeysfarm No it's a single 62/71/14

  • I know a Vette can run faster than a 14.76 quarter....what did he do start out in 5th gear? And no doubt thats a damn fast truck

  • oh this just made my day! hahahahaha 12V For the win!!!!

  • grandpa beats college kid.

  • Funny how people get so mad when a diesel beats a sportscar. Well news for you undereducated people, it doesn't surprise the diesel fans one bit. Why? Torque, raw power. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a corvette, but I'd love that Cummins even more. It's common, people think, "What an idiot, this guy thinks he can beat my Corvette in his big, slow truck." They get beat, people get all defensive trying to say the Corvette driver was bad. That's not the case, the diesel simply had more power.

  • Wow what a shitty driver

  • this run was for the video,,these vetts will go high12s-13s easly stock with a good driver,,just another video fail to us that realy know !!

  • i agree the driver of the vette had it half throttle there is no way the truck could take the vette of the line let alone the race hell my 2005 kia spectra will take that truck of the line know for a fact cause i have done it, i lose the race but i take it off the line. oh and d250 big deal nothing special the corvette is one of the most respected super cars right now google it beat porche lambo

  • those corvettes are much faster than that. any moron can run one in the low 13s completely stock ls1 corvette. i wouldn't go bragging about beating one, everyone will think you're a moron

  • Boring my 01 Duramax would smoke a vett any day and still tow my yota pickup to the river to go wheelin.

  • @specalizedphsyco nope dont believe it diesels are not for racing they for towing why do u think u have so much low end torque

  • @bassme11 well you stupid dumb ass if you tune a diesels right and have the right chips on it and all that good stuff then you can race it and whoop anyones ass! believe me my brother owns one that can my dad owns one that can and so does the rest of my family.... get your shit stright you dumb shit!

  • place was packed

  • wow, packed the stands that night lmao

  • YEAH BUDDY! screw chevy! lol long live the DODGE RAM!!!

  • @MrKingThreat

Who the hell races 3/4 mile?!

  • and add in that the guy in the vett bogged really bad lol one remark to absentheartandmind altitude doesent matter in a forced induction system at all does it i mean its always gonna be positive preassure no matter how high above sea level isant it unless the odvious so high cant breath anyway right

  • @roughneck240z89

The below statement is for all who comment and still don't understand how the timing system works.

It does not matter when the Vette or I left the line. In this instance, what matters is the ET. If I had left 2 seconds after the Vette my ET still would have been 13.83 and his still would had been 14.76.........The reaction time would be terrible but, the time does not start until the vehicle trips the lights.

  • @lleggio65 must say though the vette should have done a lot better than 14.76.. my car stock in 91 ran 14.10s much less an ls1 vette....

  • @lleggio65 I'm pretty sure he was saying the vette bogged of the line. Not you started before the vette.

  • @roughneck240z89 hey bud i totally agree u smoked his ass im impressed i love tuned diesels all that power and torque and still get great mpg

  • @roughneck240z89 slow ass vette

  • Nice 1st gen!

    Lmao @ these comments.

"noooo cummins is owned by isuzuu"

    "noooo ford owns cummins"

    "nooo int'l owns duramax"

    Research. BEFORE. you.post.

Besides, everyone knows Chuck Norris owns Cummins. No! Wait! Chuck Norris IS Cummins.

  • it's called torque! YEAH!!

  • Yeah I can see this...... A turbo counteracts the negative performance effects that you get in a naturally aspirated engine at altitude.

  • cummins powered dodge trucks are the new "sports cars"

  • :O

    that is one badass truck.

but was it just me or did that vette get off kinda slow?

  • 14 seconds in that vette, gotta be somthing wrong, my 2000 trans am ws6 with a few bolt ons is running low 13's with no traction, could probably get a high 12 with traction and it has the same motor as the vette... somthings wrong....

  • haah a 14 sec vett there had to be missed gears something... idc if the vette was a coupe theres no way it would be 14sec..

  • @eddavis1988

Very much street legal and put 25,000 miles on it in 2010 to boot!

  • no way in hell (in hell!) that that 12v would beat that vette with a good driver the driver of the vette was a pussy and half throttled...and im a diesel guy sorry bro with the d250 but its true...

  • @kennyp521

You have no idea what elevation does to performance, do you?

  • @lleggio65 he has no idea about diesel performance clearly actually, that truck could easily be pumping out 600+hp and torque is easily double that, pair in a 4 wheel drive launch possibly and and upgraded/purpose built tranny and ya this truck runs circles around a vette in a short 1/4mile distance

  • @lleggio65 Never underestimate a cummins, especially on ATS Diesel's home turf...

  • @lleggio65 or turbo spooling haha

  • @kennyp521

Your a diesel guy yet don't know what they can do? BTW bro, it's a W250....

  • @kennyp521

    Its simple math and physics.

At 7000ft the air pressure is 11.3 psia (lbs per in squared absolute) at sea level it is 14.7

That means the Corvette has (11.3/14.7) ~ 75% of its rated horsepower (rated is at sea level)

The Cummins has a turbo running somewhere around 30 psi of boost. So you take the sea level pressure and at altitude pressure and add the boost to them and you get ((11.3+30)/(14.7+30) and the dodge has ~92% its sea level horsepower, which at that boost 2x rated power.

  • @kennyp521 12v will always dominate the diesel world torque and HP wise you can do more to a 12v then a 24.... 12v fastest diesel in the 3/4mile

  • @MrKingThreat that may be so but they still sit inside the crap box of a dodge body

  • @kennyp521 i personaly like the 1st gen's i have one myself ive raced the newer dodge's and i win easy

  • @kennyp521 ummm your fucking stupid.... a diesel can whoop any cars ass aslong as its tuned up right! you fucking dumb shit.... and you call your self a diesel guy.... HA!

  • @kennyp521 W250'S rock, and vettes are for old men and fish heads, the old guy driving the vette didn't have a chance and he is lucky it was not a 24 vavle cause that would have been ugly!!!!!! diesel forever

  • @kennyp521 suck it up

  • @kennyp521 my buddies got a 06 twin turboed duramax that'll beat a vette like its sitting still lol

  • @eddavis1988 What makes you say it's not street legal??? Because it smokes??

  • i love that track! colorado is the best!

  • @breezyatv90

    Yes, a great track!

  • look at all the fans...

  • @Strotkyle

It was a test and tune night.

  • yes my friend F@#$ that durajoke piece of poop

  • hey, I`m impressed. But...I`m from germany and I was wondering what cummins is. I`ve never heard that. Could someone please gimme some information. Thanks a lot

  • @Biebersdorfer my friend, just surf through youtube long enough and youll see all the morons saying cummins is better than this, powerstroke is better than that, and duramax ftw lol. youll soon develope an opinion of your own, or just be surprised how many idiots ther are on here :p but cummins is an izuzu owned engine, not saying its bad of course, its actually one of the most reliable diesel engines ever built. and are known for making some serious power, like the one in this vid lol

  • @KillNThrill24 I don't know where you get your info from. Isuzu does not own Cummins. Ford and Caterpillar own Cummins.

  • @themaytagrepairman Cummins owns Cummins. Ford never even owned 50% of the company and that was years ago. please get your facts straight.

    Cummins = Cummins

Duramax = Isuzu / GMC engineering but GMC built

    Powerstroke= Internationl design and built....(unitl 2010???)

  • @jdroecker I go by what I've read and what i read here. So stop being so damn arrogant.

  • d@Biebersdorfer Hello there in Germany. Cummins is a company that has been building Diesel engines in this country for years. Chrysler started putting the Cummins Turbo Diesel in their trucks in 1987. I read (when Daimler owned Chrysler) they were toying with the idea of putting a Mercedes Benz Turbo Diesel in the Dodge Ram pickup. What a shame they didn't do it! That would have destroyed Chevy and Ford trucks!!!!! I love Dodge Ram pick-ups and Mercedes Benz. What a combination that would be!!!!

  • I think the 'vette driver was REALLY babying the gas pedal on that one.

  • @CainPire The Vettes runs were all in the 99-100 mph range all night..................that is consistentcy.

    At 6000' elevation that's about all a 350 hp LS1 can do.

Your not at sea level anymore..................

  • C5 Vette should run alot better then 14s LOL

  • okay, it's fun to watch, but what mods are on the Dodge?

  • If you run a 14.7 in a Corvette made in the last 20 years, you either started in 5th gear, or you confused the gas pedal with the brake pedal several times.

  • The guy in the 'vette doesn't know how to drive. Nice Power Wagon.........but, at almost 14 seconds, it should NEVER beat that car. I'm not busting on the Dodge. I love diesel trucks. I'm merely stating that the 'vette should have EASILY won that race.

  • @INTIMIDATOR3FAN

Meh, the old Vettes were slugs... I'm actually not too surprised.

  • that is probaly a 12 sec truck at sea level. thats one of my all time favorite truck body styles. very nice.

  • Hey Kurt! Know anyone selling a 4bt or an Isuzu 4bd cheap? I picked up an 87 Ranger that's screaming for a 4 banger diesel.

  • @Bullitt406

    No I don't.

Find a Frito Lay or Wonderbread truck for a donor.

  • @lleggio65

Hmmm... that's an option... buy the whole truck at an auction then scrap it.

Got any updated videos of the 1st Gen beast? Where are you working these days?

  • @Bullitt406 What about getting the turbo diesel 2.3L? Keep it all ford that way

  • @6detroitdiesel5 very unlikely

  • Dang, that truck smoked the vette! even when its heavier... pure diesel muscle (:

  • @bizzerk94 And its a stick

  • A timing gun???????????

Bone stock 200 hp 1998 Monte Carlos don't run 96 mph in the 1/4 mile and, definately not at 5500 feet!

Bring your car to this track and get an acccurate time.

    Bandimere is 5900 feet.

  • @lleggio65 gotta love high altitude racing!!

  • dejate de joder! el que iba manejando el corvett era como mi madre mas o menos

  • haha sounds like bj has been giving too many blow jobs lol its all about gearing lmao

  • Vette got smoked

  • slow ass vette. most come stock 12 second cars.

  • @bjsniffitproductions no they don't.

  • @SICKSxNINE hmmm look up the stats dude the 2010 base moddle corvette is a 12.5 second car. the z06 is 11.5-11.8 and the zr1 runs 10.8 -11.2

  • @SICKSxNINE ok retard...dont know how to work google i guess so fuck you

  • @bjsniffitproductions don't get so upset. It's youtube dude.

  • @SICKSxNINE hmm then don't waste my time with your wrong comments. it's youtube dude

  • @bjsniffitproductions its still a sports car vs a full size dually truck dip shit

  • @t8tr250 i never said it wasn't faggot

  • @bjsniffitproductions

    Getting off topic but.................Why compare a 2010 425 hp vette to a 2001 350 hp vette?

None of those times are achieved running at 7,000+ ft density altitude and not everyone can jump in a vette and run those times.

In fact, those times are done with near perfect atmospheric conditions, sometimes with density altitudes of 500-1000 feet BELOW sea level and many, many runs down the strip. If read from a magazine, they are usually corrected for sea level.

  • @lleggio65 what place is 1000 ft below sea level man?

  • @bjsniffitproductions

    Seriously?

The Dead Sea to be precise but, that is irrevelant in this case.

    I said the DENSITY altitude.

Every racer knows what that is.............................look it up.

  • @lleggio65 "every racer" bahahaha right bud... i work in a performance diesel shop we dont even consider calibrating that into a tune because its never absolute. for instance the air temp and humidity change from day to day thus changing the DENSITY of the air no matter what ALTITUDE you are at, your car with all of its electronics will change this to compensate for fule to air mixture any way so what are you getting at? wo said this track is 7000 feet up?

  • @bjsniffitproductions

The track, Bandimere Speedway is at 5900' feet. When we ran this night it was about 72* IIRC.

Yes, cars and trucks with capable electronics will compensate the fuel to air mixture correctly but, when the density altitude is less than perfect or "absolute " as you stated, the only calibrating the electronics can do is give less fuel which equates to less power. The electronics, without help of forced induction or nitrous, can't add air.

  • @bjsniffitproductions

What I meant by "every racer" is simply this; if you don't know or understand density altitude and the role it plays on performance, you are not a drag racer. Maybe a keyboard racer but, not a drag racer.

And to add from earlier; if your driving at or near sea level with a air temp of 30-40*, you can acheive better than "abosolute" conditions which would give an electronic capable vehicle the ability to add more fuel resulting in better than factory rated horsepower.

  • @lleggio65 and you are right i will give you that.

  • HAHA stupid vette

  • 14 sec corvette ?

  • best video ever

  • CHEVY BLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWWWSSS!!!!!!!!

  • oh shit did you see those tires wobbling better change ur ball joints

  • @book505

    No wobbling.

    Front end is like new.

    Better change ur eyes.

  • @lleggio65 hes refering to the new dodges and how they have bad ball joints, most likely unaware that your year of dodge has a straight axle and not the retarded independent front end

  • @book505 what the hell are you talkin about i didnt see it even nudge

  • @BradK24 he was talking about the pos corvette

  • trucks fucking uglyy.

  • @NaTeiiSBeaST what do you drive?

  • @BradK24 jeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

  • @NaTeiiSBeaST Any work done to it?

  • @NaTeiiSBeaST well, if u were in the chevy corvette, you wouldnt be able to tell cause all youd see would be the tail gate and brake lights

  • diesel power son

  • What a nice 1st gen, very nice indeed.

  • Holy crap PLS tell me thats a five speed I heard behind the cummins!

  • @psychotikpaisano

Yes it's the stock Getrag 5 spd

I start in 2nd gear and shift into 5th at the 1/8 mile at approx 8.6 seconds and 82 mph.

  • diesels are underrated in the race world, fuck a sports car!!!

  • When are you going to switch to a Powerstroke and finally ditch that 1st Gen?

  • @Bullitt406

    HA HA HA!

    How have you been?

Have not heard from you in a while.

I think what your asking is, when can I buy your 1st gen! LOL

  • @lleggio65 Hmmm... a Cummins not anytime soon. Although I might start playing around with a 93 F250 Turbo 7.3 IDI. I know it's not a Powerstroke, but at least it doesn't have any electronics! Enough of that crap.

Are you still at Crow Creek?

  • @Bullitt406

    Quit back in May.

    Wher you?

  • @lleggio65

Gallegos Sanitation, Fabrication Supervisor. Where are you working now?

  • 1st gen cummins straight 6 is WAY more reliable and can handle so much more horsepower or torque than any powerstroke even a 7.3 -------6 all day

  • @Bullitt406 Powerstroke is garbage fag bait

  • When are you going to switch to a Powerstroke and finally ditch that 1st Gen?

  • poor corvette... probly a woman driving

  • @Ls7colorado nope just a gay vette ahha.

  • damn the bleachers were full of people! lmao just kiddin, great video

  • FUCK. SHIT. UP. HELL YES.

  • hell yea...thats what i am talkin about nothin better than a bad ass cummins

  • Do you know what mods were done to the truck?

  • @GarnerlovesCarrie Yes. Dynomite Diesel Performance 69 lpm 5 hole injectors. S300 series turbo 62/71/.80 Joe Hellmann custom intercooler. Icebox air intake. South Bend Clutch single disk. Stock front Dana 60. 3.54 ratio Stock rear Dana 80 from a 2002 (disks). Stock Getrag tranny. Launch @ 3000 rpm.
  • @lleggio65 Thanks! I'm about to get a 1st gen and I think I'm gonna do the same thing

  • Do you know what mods were done to the truck?

  • Nice truck, If you need a bulletproof maddogtransmission let me know. I will also stand behind it with a one-year unlimited mile warranty. Thanks MaddogLou.

  • Embarrassing .

  • that was pretty sweet shit

  • id kill myself if i got beat by that faggot dodge

  • @chinchillawrangler

You're probably not going to live too long then...Go race one :)

  • old school mopar all the way baby!!

  • dont foreget the importance of gear ratio. the truck is geared lower

  • o wow that was fair, why dont we all buy 1st gen cummins and not waste 52,000 on a vette, i mean im 13 but still, with a truck like that, u have the speed and the pickup, and where i live, most people would rather have a smoker

  • Here is my math-You build it your way to beat the next guy and you are always making adjustments. Either way you look at it, its how you build the vehicle and also how you drive it and keep the power up.

Say what you will about it but that is just my own reason and how i have always seen it happening and how i will do it as well.

  • My 650 Hp bmw m5 can smoke that thing

  • the biggest one is so fast how

  • sweet truck. diesels never fail to amaze me. the guy behind the wheel of the vette should be shot and have a better driver take his place lol

  • horrible vette driver nice cummins

  • Nice Kill. I did the same thing to mustang .

    Maxx Blaze

  • @RovingLandRover

it sounds like youre just jealous because I can get an extra 300 rear wheel HP in 5 minutes ;)

  • @RovingLandRover that was the dumbest fucking thing I've read in awhile. The point is that an ol pickup truck killed a vette. VETTES come from the factory made for SPEED!!! a 1992 pickup truck DOES NOT.. and land rovers are money soaking piles of shit.

  • @RovingLandRover hey if anything thing can go we WILL race it at 1 time or another its that simple

  • Doesn't matter as much horsepower as torque. the camaro beet the shelbi and the challengert because it had more torque and its torque didnt drop off like the other cars. You can have all the horse power in the world. But without torque your not going anywhere fast.

  • I am not a big fan of cummins they are ok I like powerstroke but that dodge was hauling ass! Lol

  • this is why only old ass grandpas own corvettes and people that have a brain in their head buy a turbo diesel. vettes are fuckin turds and a huge waste of money for what you could get for that amount

  • Comment removed

  • dude that dodge launched like a fucking champ end of story

  • Comment removed

  • The truck took off before the Vette. Dodge Cummins are badass but that guy in the Vette musta sucked at driving

  • nice truck

slow vette a normal c5 non z06 should do like high 13 so high 14 probally not as good of a driver 2nd its a soft top which adds weight 3rd it seemed to me that he spun alittle at the start

every keeps saying that its fake or the vette diodnt try but i would just say there is different reasons for it not to do so good

  • @Specter302 fuck u pice of shit it fuck u and your math bet u r a chink

  • FFFFUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKK YYYYYEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Got a twin to it . Same year and color . Add lader rack and tommy liftgate . Lot less hp than this one . Keeping my 6btc stock

  • elevation reallly killed the vette with natural aspiration

  • damn!

  • never look at a diesel

    the same way again.

  • damn specter just got fucking schooled hahahahha

  • That corvette driver didn't know how to drive. Still, you kicked his ass fair and square.

  • That is friggin' impressive for a longbed extended cab fullsize pickup. Out of curiosity, is that the same 12-valve Cummins they came with from the factory?

  • thats a bad driver in the vette 14.76 quarter????????? but still that truck is a beast

  • that corvette driver must of bought his car before he ran it on the track that was horrible.

  • lol

  • go cummins corvette never had a chance

  • The only thing that could have made this vid sweeter is a back story that goes alittle something like this:

Vette Owner: "I have fastest car here no one can hang with me..blah blah blah"

(we have all heard shit talkers at some point in our lives you get the point)

Dodge Owner: "Tell ya what I'll leave my car on the trailer and beat your ass with the truck I pulled it here with.... how about it put your money where your mouth is???"

anyway awesome vid thanks for posting :)

  • this is where it hurts lmao, hard to make anything run like a cummins

  • DOGE! WONE!

  • No need to get all technical... The Vette got its ass kicked fair and square, and then the pickup truck went to the home depot, loaded up the back up with shit and didnt feel bad about it

  • That was impressive.

  • specter your a fucking joke. ill put any cummins against your piece of shit sports car any day . while the sports car is trying to catch 6grand the cummins is rollin coal. and he can do that all day long and that 5.9 wont even hiccup . while your sports car is spewing oil all over itself

  • i have the 2wd whithe version of this truck how much did it cost to fix it up
