so many styles of music started in that decade, grunge, black metal, digital hardcore, drum&bass, jungle, happy hardcore, rotterdam, speedcore, alternative, Industrial ... even if some of these styles of music were present before the 90's in some way or another the 90's helped to shape what these genres sound like today.
