    I'm using some 6" X 6" squares on burled walnut on another project and it's very wavy (see Philco 15DX restoration pt1).

    You can flatten it out using "veneer softener". Google that and you'll find lots homemade and commercial solutions.

    Basically, it's a liquid you dampen the veneer with and it becomes flexable. Then you put some weight on it (phone books) for a while to flatten it out.

    I haven't tried it yet myself, but I will be so stay tuned.

  • Hi.. nice and simple..great! I've never done any veneering before and have some burr walnut, which is not very flat. Do you reckon I could use this simple method on such un flat veneer? I's just for a small book cover, so there's no joins. Cheers, Sarah
