When did the Suikoden series become some Anime derivative? Konami, this does not appeal to a general audience, to an American audience and from the sales in Japan, it doesn't even have appeal in Japan. Hire someone to write decent storylines, revamp the battle system, and stray from this hack anime art style. Don't make the games for 12 year olds make it serious and mature. Rekindle JRPG's, Final Fantasy is dead Suikoden can take over. We are all waiting for an RPG worth playing

@akhitek You're Konami's target audience, and Hollywood's. People who have been fed crap before but still keep coming up to the trough to see if the farmer is serving anything better up next time. Based on all we know about the game it is going to be the next Tierkreis, by the trailer we know it is going to be a bland anime experience. Keep throwing them your money and showing them you'll take whatever you're given, instead of what people want and deserve for their money.

Personally I could care less about whether this is a "true" Suikoden game. To me, this looks like a fun game that i'd wanna play. Is it gonna be as good as previous entries? probably not, but I find the comparison game to be utterly moronic. All that matters to me is whether or not the game is fun to play, and i'm gonna at least try this out before I make snarky comments about a game I know too little about to form an opinion.

I don't expect to see the 'old' Suikoden, and unfortunately I don't think we ever will again. Personally I'm just happy enough if it feels like the series. Mind you, I also quite enjoyed Tierkries and also liked 4 (not as much as the best ones in the series, but I didn't detest it by any means), so maybe I'm not the best authority on this. I'd love to see this released in English. Because playing RPGs in Japanese is pointless for me, since I am not anything even remotely fluent in Japanese.

@RanmaruMori I don't know about you, but when a loved one is in a vegetative state after having their brain fried, I'd rather they be put out of their misery instead of shipped over to the local brothel for $5 a pop quickies. The series is dead, the main series team disbanded, the only thing they're selling you is a name. 'Suikoden' is now a vehicle for any upstart RPG designer to create their own 'vision' through, funded by you.

I think this looks like it could be good. Style seems to be somewhat similar to Suikoden 5, which I enjoyed very much.

EVERY and I mean EVERY single successful JRPG-series has Escort titles - and some of them offer great gaming experiences. Konami never officially promised a Suikoden VI and idk what you're so upset about. If you really were a Suikoden fan, you'd know that Konami slides in 1-2 Escort titles between every title of the Main series (with the exception of I -> II). So why not stop being biased and actually giving this game a chance? It's the first spinoff that looks promising.

Suikoden Tierkreis was already way too clear-cut with its heroes and villains. Now Konami apparently to screw that whole "factions with goals more complex than "save the world" and "kill everybody"" thing too and go with kids-friendly monsters that we can kill without guilty consciences like absolutely every other JRPG out there.

Or maybe I'm just overreacting based on a trailer that doesn't show much story at all. Take you pick.

@Dark417 They didn't release the name of the song yet. The kanji is the singer, Chiaki Ishikawa. She was the vocalist for See-Saw, and now she's done some solo work, including some anime OP's and ED's.

I really miss fast pace combat in beautifully 2d style like 1&2.

Tierkreis is fast combat too but its DS, so polygon is too bad. Really.

Everything else is a OK for me except that.

(I don't understand, if polygon is too low too make it looks good why not make it in 2D?)

Now suikoden is set for PSP which is somewhat better than DS, so should i reckon this is somewhat better than Tierkreis?
