@Dr170 No, I'd say John K's animation style is more abstract, yet demented and crazy looking. Whereas David Feiss's style is more lumpy and sketchy. I think their both great, but I wouldn't call Feiss a "poor man's John K". While there do exist similarities (i.e. wild takes), Feiss's style has a pretty unique quality...just look at "I Am Weasel".
I THOUGHT someone like David Feiss was behind the animation of these particular Cheetos commercials. Cow and Chicken definitely came to mind when looking at the ppl and how the characters animate.
1:15-1:20 is just like an episode of "Cow & Chicken" where Chicken was also in a barrel going over Niagra Falls. Of course since David Feiss made these it's no surprise.

Director of feature films like "Fritz The Cat", "Heavy Traffic" and "Wizrds"; He also directed the first "Spider-Man" TV series of 1960's; The Rolling Stones music video for "Harlem Shuffle"; and created Terrytoon's "Mighty Heroes".
In the mid-1990's he directed 2 toons for Hanna-Barbera (!) : "Melvin & Malcolm" & "Babe, He Calls Me".
Ren & Stimpy's John Kricfalusi is a protege of his as well..

I actually remember these commercials from 2001. What I didn't remember is how incredibly insane these were. It's pratically "Cow and Chicken" from top to bottom.
Seeing that he has done such *stellar* work as one of the Hanna-Barbera artistes...not to mention the howling successes of "Cow & Chicken" & "I Am Weasel"..as well as these Cheetos adverts..
Why *isn't* David Feiss as much of a renowned household word as Bakshi, Kricfalusi, Groenig, or Judge??
