this game was ahead of it's generation, it should have been launched now (to ps3,360 and wii). man, it would've been HUGE cause the online mode was revolutionary, and been able to play as one citizen was a brilliant idea. too bad this didn't happened.. it's a great game still
You wanna know what would have been great as a RE5? Something like Outbreak, but with all the classic monsters, some red zombies from the remake of the first 1, maybe a few tyrants. Multiplayer, and all that good shit. Would have been amazing.

Now THIS is a CO-OP game, not RE5, it has much better storyline, interesting characters even if you don't know them or click with them, it has that felling that only the first 3 games had, the music was much top notch than RE5's that was supposed to be Hollywood style score, Outbreak even though it had some flaws it still stands as a true Resident Evil GAME.
@LeonBenji You said it all!!! the 4th and 5th are not survival horror AT ALL. There more like any other combat game, with too many gun shots. Resident Evil wasn't about that, but it lost the very concept it created (Survival Horror) and a lot of people liked the change.. I didn't but they wanna sell games so they're not going back

survivors trying to get out of the city, the story begins at the very moment the first zombies appear, in this game you are infected and in the last level if you use the cure, you escape from the city but if you dont get the cure, you die with the explosion, the storyline is cool and is chanonical to the main series, in OUTBREAK 2 at the end of a scenario you can see that Leon is on his way to the police station
I wish Capcom would make one last great game like this...zombies, William Berkin, Tyrants and hunters etc...resident evil is dead to me. Ever since 5 and practically 4. Leon was cool, but they changed everything...bastards =/.
@thepilotguy159 re4 is still a bit scary with the chainsaw guys, very gory and violent deaths, and it's atmosphere re5 is the game that was no longer scary........still I really want an Outbreak file#3
Outbreak was awesome! Been playing em again lately, and the loading times seem shorter for some reason (probably psychological). It's sad we didn't get to see all 20 locations as was planned. But maybe one day we'll see another outbreak. With Las Plagas or Majinis :P
@sonicnewboy acually if they do make another, i definately hope there will be none of that "las plagas" BS or the majinis. i honestly thought RE4 and RE5 had the dumbest story and excuse for new enemys, (but gameplay was quite fun)
@Pinstr as much as i find zombies hot, I just don't think Capcom wants to go back to them anymore. Especially since people praised RE4, which had the smarter, tougher enemies. I personally had no problem with Las Plagas or the majinis. The whole thing to me is more about Umbrella, not the kind of abominations they come up with. But sadly we won't be seeing another Outbreak, I'm pretty sure of it. Maybe only in our dreams. The closest thing is probably Op Racoon City.
yea me too. i think this was the second RE-game ive ever bought, unfortunalety RE4 was my first game so i never had the idea that there are zombs in the RE-games. but i never had the idea that this intro was part of RE-2. i though these U.B.C.S-menmbers are some kind of anti-terror-forces of the gouverment to eliminate the threat.......
@krayzie7022 I dont think so.... There is a t-003td i think thats its name. Its like a better version of the t-003 (mr.x. He helps you in the game untill its handlers are killed by it.. Then he turns on you. I saw the vid where he helps. He kills hunters for you.
.... but maybe this time can come back. all resident evil outbreak-fans are welcome to sign the petition for outbreak file 3 wich is online, there is also a youtube-channel call IAMOUTBREAK, wich needs more subscribers to convince capcom to port outbreak file 1 and 2 for actuall consoles like ps3/360. dont loose the hope, fight for the revival of outbreak :)

I don't know about anyone else here, but I played RE2 before Outbreak, and I wasn't scared of William Birkin at all until I saw this. Just the way they present it, where you never see all of him, just a back or side shot, is terrifying.......especially the shadow.....
Guys i have very good news you guys might scream all night or party like a rock star but if the game resident evil operation racoon city is successful there will be a outbreak file 3 we must hope that it is if you want file 3 now thumbs up and get this noticed
I like how the intro tells us how hunk and his men (USS) were slaughtered i mean in resident evil 2 i new there was more but what happened to them but when this game first came out i was like so thats how they died
@fanaddict That is probably not going to happen. The games sold terribly (in the US at least) and didnt receive very high scores from reviewers. Some design choices were also somewhat... disliked. It was a niche game that catered to a particular audience, unfortunately this audience wasn't and most likely still isn't large enough or vocal enough to warrant the gamble that a sequel on a modern console would be. And the second one was just bad imo.
This intro is just magnificent ; I discovered it just a few days ago (huge RE fan, but wasn't very enthousiastic with Outbreak). A.I sucks a lot; gameplay too, and OMD the game is so difficult. That's a pity, 'cause RE was awesome until they made the 4th one...

The gameplay of the outbreak RE's were bad and the loading times were way too long but they DID get the "feel" of the RE series correctly. It was actually scary and there was the auro of everything is dead and gone.
This game is fucked up in so many ways. I mean how often do we get to see a good looking plumber, and don't get me started on that lesbian reporter alyssa..
I remember this game! I got it way back when I was a kid! Oh my god, those were the days! I stayed up all night playing this on my tv, feeling like I was really there, in the game! then my mom would get mad and yell at me to go to bed -_-

This is what resident evil should be all about. Survival Horror..... All about getting through the depths of raccoon city. Picking up anything along to use as a weapon. Team mates helping you out. Kiling flesh hungry zombies together. And getting the hell out of raccoon city. There is no story needed this game is a gem to me and i want another outbreak soon somewhere.
@Garysafc88 If you like survival horror without story, go play Left 4 Dead. Personally, I like storyline along with survival horror, which is why I enjoyed RE1, RE2, and RE:CV

No doubt. Seeing the birkin and that shadow across the wall. Everything about this opening is perfect and what I was hoping from the movies. This opening is amazing...cept I hated the game. Probably since I couldn't play online.
@gatoman46 bought it for PS2 not so long ago cos it was cheap n i like resident evil, tried for about an hour and i just couldn't get into it. awful to control and the characters just got on my nerves. suppose it's different playing with other people though.
@xJoelxMaldonadox think maybe the main problem i had was because i couldn't figure out what was happening lol i was picking stuff up then dropping it without realising when i tried picking something else up. and the characters just got on my nerves. plus, i knew it was multi-character when i bought it but didn't realise it was SO many characters at once. lost interest eventually. should maybe sit down with it properly one day
I'll be cool if Hollywood could include this theme in the beginning credits of the RE films. But no, Hollywood had to fuck up the whole RE saga. Only the old school RE games are the best.
Capcom should remake re outbreak for ps3 and xbox360 with cooler graphics more levels and new characters, unseen characters maybe billy was in racoon city or something new and cool
The Outbreak series was a good....no, great idea. I was very intrigued when I first found out about it. So I downloaded it for my pc. It is a great game but it could have been a lot better. The usage of broomsticks, knives, and steel pipes etc... as wepons, the respawning of zombies and the ability for the zombies to go to other areas made the game pretty realistic. It really felt like you're in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.

I remember this game! I got it way back when I was a kid! Oh my god, those were the days! I stayed up all night playing this on my tv, feeling like I was really there, in the game! then my mom would get mad and yell at me to go to bed -_-

Out of all the Resident Evil games I've played its amazing that one of the enemies in the game weren't rats that were infected with the T-Virus.

@plantguy9 In the Racoon Outbreak the infected rats and roaches competed for the sewer turf and the roaches won. Thats why you don't see rats.

they should make any original style RE for PS3 i mean dont get me wrong 4 & 5 are absolutely amazing but i miss those long nights wthout sleep playing the others 4 & 5 just arent scary like the originals were if the could just make perhaps remakes of the first one like through the mansion and the ones that take place in Raccoon City

This is what resident evil should be all about. Survival Horror..... All about getting through the depths of raccoon city. Picking up anything along to use as a weapon. Team mates helping you out. Kiling flesh hungry zombies together. And getting the hell out of raccoon city. There is no story needed this game is a gem to me and i want another outbreak soon somewhere.

@gatoman46 bought it for PS2 not so long ago cos it was cheap n i like resident evil, tried for about an hour and i just couldn't get into it. awful to control and the characters just got on my nerves. suppose it's different playing with other people though.

@xJoelxMaldonadox think maybe the main problem i had was because i couldn't figure out what was happening lol i was picking stuff up then dropping it without realising when i tried picking something else up. and the characters just got on my nerves. plus, i knew it was multi-character when i bought it but didn't realise it was SO many characters at once. lost interest eventually. should maybe sit down with it properly one day

The Outbreak series was a good....no, great idea. I was very intrigued when I first found out about it. So I downloaded it for my pc. It is a great game but it could have been a lot better. The usage of broomsticks, knives, and steel pipes etc... as wepons, the respawning of zombies and the ability for the zombies to go to other areas made the game pretty realistic. It really felt like you're in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.
