The V/O for the "Connecticut High School Bowl" promo sounded like Ray Marlin, whose voice was familiar as weekend announcer on WOR-TV (Ch. 9) in New York. I wonder, was it?
Here in NY (Long Island), we got WTNH on our cable system until 1988, when it was displaced in favor of a then-new cable channel called TNT. And I remember that Sunday afternoon staple High School Bowl, as well...was hosted by Action News sportscaster Bob Picozzi, I believe.
Ah...thought it might have been Kenn something, but wasn't sure if it was just a fuzzy memory or what. And yeah, I remember that catchphrase of his as well...LOL
WOW--I remember this one. Before cable came into my house, WTNH was the only CT station I could get, even though it was slightly snowy on the picture. At the time this came out, Channel 8 was owned by Cap Cities.
Hopefully other CT stations will eventually be posted such as WFSB, WEDH, WTXX, and WVIT as I remember seeing WFSB, WEDH, and WTXX signoffs when I was on vacation in Easthampton, MA in the 90s. Unfortunately, WVIT wasn't carried on cable up there. Same with WTNH. I've read descriptions elsewhere on how they signed off.
Wow. What IS that song? Sounds like Stevie Wonder, though I know it isn't him...

@4evernate28 It's "Blue Lick" by Bob James from the album "Lucky Seven." Beautiful piece of music.

Re: Telecasts of the present:
I think they pre-record the traffic lady's report, then show itat a speeded up pace. Her lips are not in sequence with the audio.

For some reason, a 3/4" tape of stuff from WFSB and WTNH is in our newsroom. No idea why, but this was on it.

HAHA...I love the music they used...so 80s. Someone needs to find an open to Action News from 84 or 85.

Nope, that would be Kenn Venit, the man who as anchor/reporter at 8 bought Action News to Channel 8.
I can never get his stern "five points off on the interruption" whenever a team jumped the gun on High School Bowl out of my head.
