thanks for putting this up, my fave was the pulse version but now i think this has trumped it. delicate sound of thunder would probably be my fave floyd live album but theres just songs on pulse that should be on dsot that arent :(
They all contributed their special talents. The end result was a catalog of timeless music that will forever be revered as some of the genre's cream of the crop. We are fortunate that these men ever cared to collaborate with one another. Whether it be at the same time or at different points.
I was watching this and thinking "Why would Mason need all those drums in his kit?"------and then I said "Oh yeah, I remember now".----then I passed the J to the ol' lady! #LOL
@joeytruelove Well, Syd Barret left in 1968 or 67, I can't remember which, but that's only 2 or 3 years after they started. Their music suffered a little, but they picked it up and I personally think everything was great up until this.
@swlago Oh, I didn't mean his actual death but his passing over into incapacitation. Point being a lot of people want to hold the belief close to their hearts that PF is not PF without mr Waters. What they seem to forget is Gilmour did write a large number of songs even w. Waters in the band, such as Comfortably Numb. Waters was supposed to on his bare knees have begged Gilmour not to feature it on his solo album, but save it for The Wall - which basically was Water's project.
Great song and a concert to live for, but will you all agree that the camera caught Richard at his keyboard only once at 300 feet away? Check it out. My e-mail to R. Gary Patterson over four years ago thought Richard Wright was seldom on film during concerts seen via thanks to You Tube' s Floyd music contributors. The viewers just get a glimpse and that's a bit mysterious, eh? Anyone ever notice that watching Pink Floyd here?
Huge Gilmour fan and a huge Floyd fan. I love this song and the Gilmour-era Floyd. I think it's very telling that Richard Wright (RIP) left the band when it was fragmenting around '83, and did not even play on The Final Cut, which was essentially a Waters solo album, yet he reunited with Gilmour, et al, after Water's official departure.
Gilmour might not be the song writer that Waters is, but he is the superior singer and musician, and perhaps the superior person.
was this song that got me into Floyd, i was 4 when this was released and funny how i can remember hearing my uncle play it over and over again, always stayed with me as my favorite floyd tune, though high hopes, time and Arnold layne give it a good run for its "money" no pun intended

Just so everybody knows - Rachel Fury is a babe. She's babe-a-licious.
I loved this song flying over Norway in a USAF KC-135 tanker refueling F-16's. What a RUSH!!!

The best version

This is the only good song on the album, but it's ruined by the cheesy 80s feel and the fact that it's not actually Floyd.

@PinkTheFloydable Yeah, you're right: their music went downhill after Syd Barrett's passing... ;(

@TheKturner05 the Delicate Sound of Thunder video is from the A Momentary Lapse of Reason tour in 1988. The video was released in 1989.

Alright, VHS in HD!
"Learning To Fly" is one of my favorite Floyd songs, but it doesn't come off very well in a live setting.
