I had the distinct priviledge as a very young man to meet and perform with Ms. Delaroccha on the same stage. After she played, there were several teary eyes in the audience. And to this day, it is one of the most beautifu memories in my life. I have rarely felt the soul of such a beautiful human being interjected into a piano and so openly pervasive in any given space. She was truly a beautiful lady and artist.
@JoFrSc Horowitz never touched the Spanish repertoire, but suppose he did, he could not do better than Alicia! She was the queen of the piano. Her tone, touch and articulation are unsurpassed.

And there are still people who say that Alicia was "not much of a technician" . This amazing rendition of the Allegro de Concierto proves the opposite.
@pghagen Yes, I do not believe that there is a more compelling performance of this work that ever has been recorded. Thanks for writing, regards, david (writing from my new channel)
I don't particularly enjoy this piece, but something about Alicia's magical and masterful touch makes this piece so delightful to listen to!!

Absolutely beautiful. I also recommend Aldo Ciccolini in a Paris recital (Salle Gaveau) and Antonio Pompa-Baldi here on youtube
