I love Sufjan, but I was just wondering, does he have a hard time remember lyrics? This isn't the first time that I've seen him look at lyrics live. Not saying that it detracts from the beauty of this song of anything, because it doesn't, I was just wondering
@USAPATRIOT4LYFE I'm amazed if he can remember the lyrics to the part of this song that includes "it's a long life, only one last chance! doesn't get much better, do you wanna dance?" because theres, like, no pattern to the lyrics. I tried to memorize it but then had to give up. it was too hard :D
Just listened to the album version... 25 minutes seemed too short... That's the law of relativity i guess...Sufjan Stevens proved Einstein was right!!
This Man is truly ahead of his time, This is the album of the future generations.
I hope they look back on this and recognize him for his genious contributions.
This artist could be a savior of main stream music, he has the abilty to return was robbed from us. I hope this art transcends people's minds from listening to superficial club garbage into embracing the abstract and creative depth in music, something has been in absence from the commercial monster.
I saw him last week and this doesn't even begin to capture the awesomeness of Sufjan. The full effect is more like performance art than just another amazing song. I loved every second of the 25 min performance including his awkward white-boy jam.
It's really 3 or 4 songs, so I wouldn't get hung up on the 'track markers'. Love the drum beats when then do it live with 2 drummers like on the album - damn.
First there was side two of Abbey Road. Then side two of Hounds of Love. Now, with sides being completely nostalgic it's Age of Adz side two. This song is only getting started on a road to utter genius. The final movement in this opus just blows my mind.
@jakeadamsonmusic It looks a bit custom. The shape of it makes me think he's playing a jazzmaster or jaguar, but the headstock and selector switches all look wrong for a fender. It could be a Danelectro Dead-On that's been customized with a 3-way toggle switch, but the shape of the volume and tone knobs are wrong. I think it's a Danelectro, but I'm not sure the make or model. Definitely not a Fender Jaguar.
@kvan1917 omg i know i freaked out when i saw that. safe to say i'm going to spend alot of time on that site until it actually releases. and on the release date i'm going to see him in concert so im stoked it came out early! :)
This and the other new tunes are so Sufjan but so new. It's like a natural progression of all his styles coming together. Can't wait for this stuff to be released. Hope it won't be long.
i love him so much... and he never comes to DALLAS! :(

I just started listening to Sufjan and he's so creative. I mean, this song is 25 minutes long! What goes on in his head when he's writing this?
ZwienerZ 1 year ago
@silvermoogle have you seen him live? the live version is just as long. Felt like a half hour set.
mullenax07 1 year ago
His ability to play guitar and all the other instruments he plays is so effortless. It's like he came out of the womb playing music.

@jakeadamsonmusic looks like maybe a fender jaguar with a single-coil pickup on the bridge, but not sure

@jakeadamsonmusic I am wondering that, too....
It seems to be a either a Fender Jaguar... or possibly a Fender Jazzmaster? I'm a beginner, so I don't really know the difference.
Rock52Drummer 1 year ago
@Rock52Drummer the guitar is a Harmony Bobkat.
They have the same relative body shape of a Jaguar
but they have very different sounds. That harmony was
made for 60s garage sound. But I love them and Sufjan's
playing of them

@jakeadamsonmusic i think its a coral hornet or it looks like a danelectro dead on 67
