@Lm632 prices vary for a saxophone $200- $6000 mine in particular is a Selmer Series III alto sax for about $5300. There great for jazz, and band.

For mouthpieces I recommend JodyJazz any of them...together the saxophone and mouthpiece will make you sound like a pro! And practice of course

Dude, that was amazing. Question, how does a $200 sax compare with say a $1000 dollar one? Are they supposed to give you better tone? I have a cheap $200 one, and one of the best alto sax players my school have one costing about $1000.

@LM632 If you are playing at a relatively low level, you can get away with a cheap sax. But if you wanna step it up to the next level, you are going to want to invest in a more expensive sax. It's going to sound a lot better.

@Eminicrispy My thought is that he simpliy lifts his B finger, Therfore it becomes a C# and gives it that sharp Tone and Also Use Vibrato.

@Eminicrispy You can do that with other palm keys. Although the higher up in the keys you go, the more unrecognizable the note is. Like if I played a middle F#, then fingered the high F# with no octave key, the note would be nowhere near the correct pitch.
