why you have to go too close, mine as well use pole spear. I been using pole spear freediving and I can get the shot farther than you did!! But nice vid though!!
@valentijnajax first of all its a speargun second of all shut up, carp are invasive and a non-native species that is very detrimental to local fish stocks. lastly you cant even eat carp their commonly reffered to as trash fish
This is awesome, I have bowfished before but I think it would be a completely different experience to actually be in their element and hunt them. Awesome job
If a species was introduced to your home country, and it destroyed the native species and became a non-contributing member of the ecosystem, just sucking up all the eggs of other fish and destroying the vegetation, would you object to it being culled (look that word up if your English is rudimentary, it's not the same as 'kill') simply because in its native range it was a catch and release fish whose numbers have been kept in balance due to natural factors? Think about it...
@KarperMitch calm down these babys reproduces faster than rabbits ,and fish are meant to be eaten unless your used to wasting money buying frozen fish.remember nothing truly ceases to exist.
@KarperMitch if you hate it... don't watch... they don't belong here. Just like Lion Fish south of Florida... they destroy things. And fish die from catch and release too.
Great video!! Looks like a competition that would be worth driving down there for! :D When is the tourney? How is that river for strainers and rapids?
@carguy9135 wel the reason i asked what they do with the fish is that at 9;12 in the video there is a shot of a tote of cleaned fish, That is a lot of work, so i figured that they might have a good way to use the fish.
good work boys

@valentijnajax Thats a speargun. NOT a crossbow. Carp ruin ecosystems, we are saving other fish by killing carp.

How deep was this? Vis is great!
Buffamal0 2 years ago
The river is pretty shallow - the deepest I went was maybe 25 feet. I took a lot of shots from the surface.
Visibility was probably 50+ feet in some areas.
