Eh, personally, I like the original version better. The opening with Amee's voice was absolutely enchanting, and the male vocals were the closest thing to death grunts I have ever heard on Evanescence. It's a perfect display of beauty and the beast.

I think that this song is on par with the "original", i have to say that i really love it!

its not as heavy metal, and a lot easier to just chill to.

i have to disagree with deviantinvader. i think that the new album didn't really discourage male listeners of evanescence. its a good album, and earns much respect from a classical/instrument player's point of view. idk how many of you like to play evanescence, rather than just listen to it, but her music is crafted incredibly! Its a big step up

Gotta love their songs from Fallen and Origin. Their music was incredible before The Open Door. Releasing The Open Door pretty much made them lose what little male fans they had, myself included.

At least I'll always have their older music, though, such as this incredible song. <3

Well, with The Open Door they tried to change their style. They had new members and Amy is always trying to make her sound different and unique. She said she doesn't see the point in making the same album twice. I know a lot of guys that respect that and still support her.

I like both the origin version and the remake for different reasons... I kinda think think the intense whisper/screaming verses were sorta cheesy -ducks flying objects thrown by fans- but I like the feel of the original version a bit better.

@redspirit17 No, this is the remix of the original Lies. The original one is the one she sang in bars back in her hometown. The original was a lot heavier and it involved Bruce fitzburgh from Living Sacrifice. The song was featured on Origin, (although live, Ben Moody sang that part) Plus, if you look at videos from her performing this way back in Vino's in 1999, she performs the other version with Moody and Stephanie Pierce. Please do not insult my intelligence.

not exactly. sometimes, but not always. a remix is the actual song as it is, with different beats, and stuff added. a remake is the song changed, such as adding new verses or words (like done here) and maybe changing tempos and stuff. this version is much faster than the original
