  • sorry i was writing in japanese but anyways ive seen a moccasin in my pond grabbed my snake hook an this monster was 5 ft long i saw her in meh garage once an she litterally bent my hook side ways

  • 乎乇乎乕 乍乘乕乎 乎乑乏㐆 丄乜二儿 乑乘

  • IVE ENCOUNTERED PLENTY OF THEM IN ALABAMA.

  • This is a water snake not a water moccasin.

  • No, ryan is right. i live in okeechobee fla and see water moccasins damn near daily and this is clearly a water snake. he's harmless, although to people that dont see much of either snake i dont blame them for confusing the 2

  • whoever thinks thats a cottonmouth is retarded

  • Good video to advertise for Obama. He is a snake in the grass

  • thats a northern watersnake... its not a water moccasin. water moccasins only live in the very south part of VA

  • @Ryan33ss I live in the very south part... but, like I said, I'm no snake expert. At the time I thought it was a moccasin; now I know otherwise.

  • @boogie8423

"Water moccasin" is also another term for "cottonmouth" (scientific name: "Agkistrodon piscivorous" ). Cottonmouths are found throughout the South.

  • @Ryan33ss dude there are water Moccasins in the Midwest too I know I've killed one

  • @DeathGod13NRB Killing a snake does not make you a snake expert. You probably killed a harmless water snake. Cottonmouths are scarce and only in the Southern part of the midwest, and are protected in many locations. Besides, any snake (including venemous snakes) you leave alone will leave you alone. There is never a reason to kill one.

  • @Ryan33ss wrong......thats a cotton mouth...water snakes have narrower heads...this is typical viper head..

  • @UFOsaucer1 Nope. This snake is 100% Nerodia (water snake). Vipers have eye slits that go horizontal, not vertical like this one. Head shape is a poor way to ID snakes because many snakes, especially water snakes, flatten their heads out when threatened, giving them a similar appearence as a viper.

  • @ThatAnimalGuy yea now that i watched it again your right....i can tell by the markings....the colorations....yup new england water snake......thanks!

  • @Ryan33ss no we have them here in Cali too

  • @Ryan33ss they live in louisiana too i saw one

  • @Ryan33ss You are wrong my friend. I've seen plenty of moccasins in Georgia streams and lakes.

  • @Ryan33ss they don't just live there. we have 'em here in Wisconsin too.

  • thats not a cotton mouth that a harmless water snake

  • Did it eventually eat it or give up?

  • Damn nature! You scary.

  • are there water moccasins in brakish water of florida?

  • @Thekiknation yes

  • It's not a water moccasin it's a water snake big difference

  • @flapjacksrgood Thank you i was about to put that, at least SOME one caught that.

  • Not a cottonmouth.... Def a water snake

  • @flapjacksrgood read the description.

  • i hate snakes nasty vile creatures

  • Well, so many people make this mistake, I guess you have to be some kind of expert to be able to see the difference, but that's not a watter moccasin, cotton mouth, Akisterdon piscivorous. And so many folks just don't know and don't understand.

  • Wow, how does even that snake hope to fit that thing in its mouth? And I'm surprised he's still trying to eat with you guys around.

And yes, it is a cottonmouth. You can tell by the markings and the method of consumption it was attempting.

  • no way he eats that catfish..lol

  • You have some neat footage, and I'm not trying to be a peckerhead...... But when posting a video, make sure that you know what you are posting a video of so that you don't look ignorant of what's going on. This is a watersnake, not a cottonmouth. No offense intended.

  • @z28931 You are a peckerhead. The uploader comments states they are not an expert and it could be a watersnake.

  • @GOODY61 Go fuck yourself

  • @z28931 Very original response, troll. Have you heard the saying "It's better to remain silent and have people think you are a fool then open your mouth and remove all doubt"? You should consider this when thinking about posting on a video next time.

  • @GOODY61 Look dumbass, you opened your cocktrap. I didn't say anything to you,yet you felt the need to come out and call me a peckerhead, although I had made no reference whatsoever to you. So who is to blame? It isn't me buddy. Maybe your the one that should remain silent. Don't come on here trying to start an internet war with someone and expect them not to respond.

  • @z28931 Your original post was "Troll-Like" and you accurately described yourself as a "Peckerhead". If you can't take the criticism then don't criticize others. You called the poster "ignorant" because of a wrong description but the poster stated in the comments that they may have the description wrong. Are you blind ? Probably not, I think you are just a troll.

  • @GOODY61 The person is ignorant. The problem here is that you opened your mouth when my comment wasn't directed towards you, and now we are acting like we are 12 and having a fight over the internet. Let people say what they want, and don't respond to it unless it is directed at YOU. At that time, you have the right to defend yourself. Have a good one.

  • @z28931 The person posting is not ignorant , you are. They in their original comments ( look above) said that it may not be a water moccasin therefore admitting they were not an expert. You in your infinite wisdom stated then had to make a mean-spirited comment about the description being wrong and boogie 8423 possibly being ignorant. Therefore YOU -by making the stupid post that you made , have opened yourself up for criticism. If you had not made the idiot comment, I would not have responded.

  • @GOODY61 Is this fight ever going to end? I'm starting to have fun with this kid, lots of fun. Now I understand why so many kids have cyber fights. Stick your hand out..... SLAP. You started this. Now run upstairs like a good little boy and do your home work.

  • This is not a cootonmouth, it's a banded water snake. Notice the round protruding eyes very forward on the head. The only reason the head is so triangulated is because his lower jaw is dislocated and pushed back. This snake is also too long and skinny to be a moccasin. If that's not enough to convince you, note that at the end of the video, the catfish is still alive. Our pond is overrun by these things and they will make you crap yourself!!

  • @coyotestalker01 It looks like it has all the markings and build of the cottonmouth to me. And I can't see its eyes well enough to tell if they're characteristic of vipers or not. However, there is one feature I can clearly see when the video is paused that tells me this is indeed a venomous snake: Its pits. All of America's vipers are pit vipers.

  • @AtarahDerek I see its nostrils. A viper has a predominant scale over its eyes that makes them look like slits. Look at some actual moccasin vids and come back to this one. A moccasin may not be shorter than this snake, but it's fat body makes it look stubby, hence the nickname stumptale. This snake is very long and slender. A moccasin this length would be as big around as your calf.

  • @AtarahDerek Check the side bar and watch water snake vs. moccasin. That is definately a water snake, not a moccasin and it is the same type of snake as this one.

  • that looks like a cotton mouth and because it has the trinagle head

  • Moccasins have a whiter mouth (they are nicknamed cotton mouth's) this snake is just a watersnake.

  • @casey10614 Funny thing about mouths. They tend to be more internal than external.

  • Wow, Im no snake expert but water moccasins in backyards arent safe .

  • @90lilmetro As long as they don't have outdoor pets and the kids know exactly which snakes to avoid and what to do in the event they are bitten, it's not that big a deal.

  • now i know why cottonmouths get so fat! did he ever finish his meal?

  • @coraleighramos No, eventually the snake gave up.

  • @boogie8423 poor snake! and poor fish! death by snakebite and for what!?! cool video!!

  • @coraleighramos thats not a cottonmouth :) Just a harmless water snake. I promise.

  • Catfish win!

  • @w13rdguy catfish loose... he's still dead, waiting to be eaten by somthing else....

  • balllin

  • thats a water snake not a moccasin....they have slightly dif patterns and venom glands

  • @brycetennison420 water snakes are not venomous....

  • my bad bro i ment no venom glands

  • Definitely one of the more common watersnakes. Water Moccasins have a more distinctive pattern

  • That's not a water moccasin, it's a green water snake.

  • omg i just saw this happend today but smaller catfish

  • thats definatly a northern water snake. even though they arent venomous they can still pack a nasty bite

  • holy catfish / water moccasin

  • aww it was still breathing

  • Nerodia watersnake. Commonly mistaken for the cottonmouth /water moccasin.

  • hey bro sorry but this isnt a moccasin...for one its to long.and two the head is only triangular because it has its jaw dislocated.but nice vid anyways

  • its gunna hurt if he gets to the spines on the catfish

  • that was a water moccasin...and thats pretty badass!!!

  • Northern watersnake, not moccasin. Look for the pupils, watersnakes, ratsnakes, racers, "grass" snakes, etc.. have round, human like pupils. Cottonmouths (moccasins), rattlesnakes, and copperheads have elliptical cat pupils that appear to be narrow black lines, which are the pupils. With the exception of the coral snake that is the most accurate way to identify a venomous snake in the US.

  • @Snakeman418 did you see the triangular shaped head dumbass?

  • @tsblair95 Your a fucking idiot. Watersnakes triangulate their heads as threat displays all the fucking time, and flatten out too, making some look kind of like a cottonmouth, but that was a fuckin northern watersnake, no doubt, no possible way that ur right because you are not. Go do your homework on the internet or read a book before you go testing the knowlege of someone who has more experience in this field then you could imagine.

  • @Snakeman418 u r a fckin retatard, i killed a snakeman yesterday in my backyard. it was kind of a mutated copperhead and a person. i thought i was your mom, thats why i shot it. man it was nasty!!! there was pieces of snake flying everywhere. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  • @tsblair95 lmfao your fuckin douche bag. "haha i shot your mom cause i thought she was a snake hahaha." Your a loser with no friends, so like i said, go do your research to find out that you are an idiot and you are flat out wrong, and get the fuck off youtube you troll.

  • @Snakeman418 you really need to quit talking about yourself. i did my research looked at that dead snake, that was reseach enough. it wa yo mom!!

  • Yes that is definately a Northern Water Snake

  • it's a moccasin

  • Somebody got them a meal.. haha

  • Looks like a triangular head which would make it a pit viper...

  • yeah, this is a nonpoisonous water snake. :)

  • Catfish got pwned.

  • lol this is a watersnake : ) brown watersnake or a green i cant tell with video quality but that fish got owned: )

  • thats a watersnake. early in the video, you get a good view of the head. its not the same shape as a water moccasin

  • Not a moccasin but impressive predation, nonetheless

  • it would be creepy but cool if the fish was still alive in the snakes belly, and then it ate the snakes insindes. >=]

  • The snake is a watersnake

  • Comment removed

  • cool vid, but that is not a moccasin, it is a northern watersnake(non venomous).

P.S. look at the eyes, if they are round pupils like that snake then it is non venomous, if it has cat like vertical pupils then it is either a copperhead, cottonmouth(AKA water mocca...), or a rattlesnake.

  • that's cool, where was this filmed? (what state) I have a video of this from Virginia, catfish and water moc... that m word after water I don't want to find out how to spell it scrolling up... moccasin... water moccasin and catfish.

  • This video was filmed in VA as well. (I saw your video of the water moccasin & catfish... great footage! Very cool!)

  • no your right thats a cotton mouth moccasin iv seen enouph to know by the way cool vid
