  • HALLELUJAH Like My Comment If You Be live In God :)

  • One should also watch "Atheism: A History of God - The Critique"

  • @ceeker248 I watched a good chunk of that and I wasn't impressed. He tries to down play the evidences which i understand but I think we shouldn't ignore the facts of what the evidences shows you.

  • @ceeker248 you should also check out

  • The idea taken out of the context when its believed as sacred 2 Jews, Christians and Muslims: the Hebrew god had put Abraham 2the test by asking him 2kill an innocent child, the son Abraham had deeply longed for. How could any kind of a god (unless demonic and insane) put his own beloved thru such a mindboggling task? And when people of faith explain it by saying "God wanted to estimate Abram's faith..." isn't their god supposedly an all knowing god? 2whom exactly was Abram to prove his faith?

  • @eddienamini Very good point! However another point, the fact that Abram believed this was an order from his god, ie a human sacrifice, he believed this was natural of his god. If his god was against human sacrifice he would have thought it were a demon and tell it to leave. Hence this god had to have been know to want human sacrifice before.

  • @eddienamini Come to think of it, wouldn't the story of Abraham be a good story to discourage human sacrifice. Think about it. If this was a problem among the ppl and story like this with the ending that god would not ask this again, be a way to put a stop to it? Which means this was a practice of this gods ppl until this story.

  • I C ur point, however, my question is more in the wide spectrum: why does God need for the sake of righteousness the requirement of sacrifice, be it human or of other mamals? In other words, if blood is considered as sacred, y is it righteous to pour it over and over as to buy back sth we could not? The Bible states that we are sinners, period! Do they think the innocent blood is going to change all that... isn't this all of a false belief which they also like to entitle as pagan?

  • @eddienamini Oh I agree. I"m a pagan and I understand the concept of blood being sacred. I personally find it amazing how modern xians view their bible and how little they understand the concepts and traditions of their own religion. I just thought that was an interesting concept in how they stopped human sacrifice. It gave me a new respect for the story, but I personally don't believe its true.

  • There u go, that's the whole point! They got sth just out of their own miscomprehension about whatever THEY think is true & right (which in fact is not) so every time they prove themselves wrong as this has nothing to do with what OTHERS know of GOD. Actually with their own delusions they believe as right, they portray a misunderstood version of their own doctrines, thus, they give birth to an endless confrontation with all other religions, as well as amongst themselves... I'm glad I am a pagan!

  • @eddienamini So we're just agreeing with each other. :) you know what, I argue too much on here. Its nice to say hey yeah man I agree with you!

  • Totally, it feels good 2know the difference so as 2b able 2realize it already makes me feel morally better about myself. We dont need a religion, specially of a kind that always looks 4ward 2finding 'guilt' in doing sth or 2find sb 2put the blame on rather than teaching us 2give in n 2let go as2 reach the utmost level of love and respect thus attaining true selfsatisfaction. Things that make me feel good about myself r surely worth the try: likewise, with religion, I'd rather do without, chrs:)

  • @eddienamini Again agreed! :)

  • not only is any form of sacrifice is required in Zoroastrian faith but that it is considered as ungodly and is extremely prohibited... thank God 'Zarathushtra' is not and could never be compared with any of the bloodthirsty Abramic religions.

  • yea

  • who is this "Gaahd" they keep mentioning?

  • @sybyly some kind of dee-jitty

  • I found it odd they didn't mention Atenism from Ancient Egypt....

  • Jesus was also a human sacrifice.

  • She (Karen Armstrong) and her ilk should be teaching religion, instead of making excuse for the bad things done in religions name.

  • Uh, no... it's NOT the last story in the hebrew scriptures about human sacrifice.

What about the virgins sacrificed by Moses? Or what about Jephthah sacrificing his daughter? Those are in said scriptures. The biblical god DOES accept human sacrifice in the bible.

  • @TheSkunkCat Exactly! Jephthah sacrificed his daughter so that god would give him victory over a battle! Blood and sacrfice is god's fetish. He even sacrificed his "own" son when he could have just forgiven so called sinners.

  • @CeaselesslyCurious That's not quite the story. Jephthah offered to sacrifice the first thing that came out of his house in order to be given victory. This turned out to be his daughter and he grieved the fact but still went ahead, with her permission it seems. Gods apears to have been happy with this. Still an unpleasant tale though, one not often mentioned in your average church!

  • @TheSkunkCat Take a moment to look people. Why is the parent sacrificing his child for some "god". Isn't a parent suppose to sacrifice for his child.

Think about it... Why if you're own parent decided to sacrifice you to his/her "god." What if you have to sacrifice your own child to your "god"? What kind of bloody idea is that. An innocent child gets killed by the parent so that the parent can have a bloody blessing? WTF?

  • As Daniel Dennet said "it should be called The history of the concept of God ", by the way ! is Karen Armstrong a Christian Apologist ?

  • @k9a2g6 Get over it. God exists. He exists in the minds of many, many people. He has a history.

  • @morningstomper123 Vampires have a history, does that make them real?

  • @GuitarRookie13 LOL, I think you are missing the point dumbass. I'm saying only things created by men have history. You know, like zombies and god?

  • @k9a2g6

Sort of. She supports Christianity and other religions, but she isn't stupid, so she doesn't believe the crap that's in the books.
