  • yeah ok but if well trimmed this mosquito can hoover also better with its original transmitte

  • Hehe, I think I'd like this better than the 4#3Q i used to have.

  • my 31€ heli can hover like this ;)

  • my msr would not hover without a lot input for my controller

  • Did you make any modifications to get it to hover this stably?

  • @LMF5000 No modifications at all - but I did bind it to my DX7 and properly trimmed it.

  • @scm6079 Ok. Thanks :). Not many single-rotor helis that can hover hands-off like the mSR hehe.

  • @scm6079 could you pls help me ...my msr keeps going backward no matter how much i trim it ?

  • @jpandyaraja check your swashplate and modify the length of your servos if required

  • confirmed - period ... rock solid with the DX6i - had never sooo much fun flying heli like today in my living room ... 4 Batteries .... yeahhh been flinging inside for almost5 hrs now - outside storm and Tornado warnings ... just love it!!!

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED HELICOPTER !!!

  • hey, do you recommend getting this one or the SR 120 ?

  • @QcWazabi That depends on where you intend to fly. If you will be doing any outdoor flying, I would pick up the 120sr instead. They fly similar, but the bigger size and additional authority of the 120 makes outside flying possible. The mSR is better suited to flying inside, and the small size lets you do more maneuvers in a tight space, which makes it more fun inside.

  • @scm6079 well, i went to the hobby shop, the guy said me it was better if i startder with an MCX instead because i only flew a 3 channel before, so i got a MCX.

  • @scm6079 well, mostly indoor, but outdoor once in a while when there's a good weather ! ... i thin the SR 120 i kinda too big to fly indoor and have fun ? i don't know..

  • Hi. Im using the dx6i, and my msr is stable, but i goes around a bit, even though a have trimmed it as much I can, what can I do?

I think im also getting some gyro shakes...

  • @matrobsti theyll drift around with even the slightest of drafts. And they will also vibrate a bit if your blades aren't tracking properly (which most people don't even bother to check on a heli this small)

  • i wish my heli was that stable, think i just need to tune it some more, but it requires constant adjustment. i have a hobby people mystery heli, first one, maybe should have started with fixed pitch, but ohh well. got a vid in my page if anyone wants to offer advice

  • Is this a good heli for a person who is an experienced 4ch plane pilot and who has flown and mcx and found it easy.

  • After a couple of crashes my mSR swings forward and backward all the time. I can't fix it. Any advice?

  • couple of things to check:

First off, check the fork directly behind the stabilizer plate. There is a small bar that slides up and down in there. Make sure that the bar has not popped out of the fork.

Second, take a look at the white gear just above the battery. Make sure it is pushed up the shaft all the way as far as it can go. If that gear is out of place, then it can cause the upper stabilizer plate pin pop out of it's fork.

    Hope this helps!

  • @armysupertroop It was the gear. Thanks a lot!

  • This is a great little helicopter. Your hover stability is what I experienced also. I'd say bypass the co-ax helis and go right to this for a first one, the co-ax will just slow you down and this thing is super stable.

  • my solo pro hovers just as well hands off :)

  • My MSR was did not hover stable like this. It hovered in small 2 to 3 foot diameter circles. I don't if this is the toilet bowl effect TBE. I determined the flybar was a little stiff not moving freely. The flybar should rock back and forth without any friction. Using the swash plat adjustment tool and pushing down the swash plate a little, fixes this. Now it hovers great. I also added a screw to both ends of the flybar tabs to make it even more stable for a beginner like myself.

  • I can't fine tune mine. Instruction manual didn't help.

  • @onemon22 What are you trying to fine tune specifically? If you only have the "RTF" radio, there isn't a lot of adjustment you can do. If you are binding from a DX6/DX7 you have allot more setup options including expo and throw limits. Without one of those, you'll be stuck with only midpoint adjustments (helpful) and swash throw adjustments (also helpful) - but no significant tuning capabilities.

  • @scm6079 Ok so far I have I have adjusted my midpoints and it hovers in a 4 foot circle going backwards counter clock wise. If I get this thing stable I plan to make an HD video about it. I have the exact same model as you and I also have an aloy shark with the dual counter blades.

  • @onemon22 hi, i dont know if u solved the problem yet but i dont know if u know this but the the rods that that push the swash plate are adjustable but other than that its never going to stay and hover like the one in the vid.

  • I can't get mine to fine tune the instructions didn't help.

  • It's a very good heli, can we use Walkera 2801PRO transmitter for this type of heli? Thanks

  • @cabelyada Unfortunately, the Walkera 2801Pro will not bind with Spektrum receivers (like used in the mSR). The 2801Pro will only bind with Walkera helis (4#3, 4g6, etc.).

  • Ok thanks, I already have WK 2081pro TX with my 4G6S heli. One more question, do you think the WK 2801pro TX and 2801pro receiver will work with big helis like mini titan or Trex 450?

  • @cabelyada I don't see why that wouldn't work well for that size heli. I wouldn't go bigger than a 325mm bladed heli (450 size) - since you don't have diversity receivers. But anywere an ar6000 would be okay the walkera one should do the job.

  • wish mine did this? its all over the place

  • can the original dx-6 im talking about the very first dx6 be bound to this heli?

  • Was gonna buy the DX6i for my mSR. but got the DX5e instead and it works just as great and minus the things that I didn't need, use the extra funds to get two of MIA's MD500e fuselage...sweeeet :)

  • NIce!! I Added AIRWOLF to my MSR!! love the RATE changes you can input from the controller/TX!

  • I bet you cant do that with the original transmitter solde with the box !!

Can somebody prove me wrong ???

  • I wish mine did that. All mine wants to do is shoot forward and bank left as soon as I lift off.

  • @denniswhitney Sounds like a control linkage is bent, or something isn't set up quite right.

  • hello.

    my radio is dx6i

    dont have green light

and the msr dont works whit the original radio. i turn on the radio and the msr and nothing, some times try to work woth the original radio, i move the servo, and turns off the blue light.

  • hello.

now the msr dont work with the original radio, blue light of the msr now is like a strobe light dont stop. and and the dx6 radio and the original radio dont do noithing. what can be that????

  • You need to follow the "binding" procedure. In your DX6 turn it on holding the green bind/range button on the back - then quickly turn on your MSR. It will bind - and then let go of the bind button - and you should be all set.

  • hello i get the dx6 and the light of my blade msr now dont stop of flashing like a strobe, what i have to do.

  • Set your stick midpoint to be lower. You can do it using the sub-trims on the stick to find a value, and then set the value via the full trims in the menus. It will take it a few seconds to bind after you have the throttle stick trim low enough.

Make sure to check all of your servo throws as well while you are getting it setup - you'll need to set them off of default to keep from over/underextending the arms.

  • i race on radio control cars, i just buy the msr, after i broke it like 20 times now im better, how i put to work the radio on my msr????

and i think to buy the trex 400 is that good to learn????

  • i have the same helicopter, what radio do you use, because the original radio is so bad.

    what radio you use. thanks

  • I use the Spektrum DX-7. Great radio - I use it for all my planes and helis.

  • These little things are sooo fun, aren't

    they?

Got a shot of oe at the indoar session of my flying group (Warrix Flying Group) and i loved it!

They are very stable and suprisingly easy to fly.

    Thanks for posting.

    Strawz

  • would i be better to go ahead and start with this or get the mcx first? ive flown very little on simulators with helis, and ive flown planes for a couple years. some ppl say i could skip to the msr and some say to start with the mcx and then step to this. what you or anyone reading this think?

  • If you are already flying planes, I'd jump right in and get the mSR. Orientation is always a challenge - and having plane experience should put you at a much higher starting point on the learning curve.

  • Very nice heli - a lot of fun for little money (as long as they

    do not brake)

Just go on an try the Walkera 4#3B or the Walkera CB100 !

For my guests I offer my Phantom6010 with gyro - you can

fly him even if You are drunken !!!

  • kind of off topic, but I see some helis with the flybar ABOVE the rotor. Is there some advantage to that? I'd think that having the rotor at the top is best for the lowest possible center-of-gravity.

Also, I see some MSRs with red canpoies - but I don't see that available for sale. Are these custom done by the owner?

This video is one of 5 about this craft that got me to buy another heli (crashed my first three).

  • Can a novice fly one of these little beauties????

  • @Gonkism - Yes, a novice should be able to fly this guy. You'll be much more likely to crash - so give yourself some space when you practice - and really practice getting the rotor stopped (down collective stick) immediately to keep from having any damage in those crashes. Awesome fun little helis.

  • Thanks for that. Someone else suggested that too. Makes sense.

  • There is no virtue in trying to fly an inherently unstable heli, although most single-bladed variable-pitch ones aren't particularly stable; even the pros - the ones who fly really difficult 3D routines - would rather fly a machine that was more stable in the hover, rather than one which wasn't. And if you're a beginner, as many are, it really helps to have a basically stable machine. I wish my T-Rex 450 was a bit more stable!!

  • yea because the pro's all fly out of trim heli's to show how good they are. hovering isnt flying anyway, just because someone wants a heli to hover with minimal input, which is what everyone sets up the helis for if not we wouldnt worry about CG and trim and pitch, etc, doesnt mean they can't fly the rotors off the thing when its actually moving. but if you can't build a heli and assume they're supposed to be unstable then suit yourself.

  • The comments about the poor flying ability and quality of the Walkera are valid. Sloppy fittings, flex and poor durability DO NOT make the fight for control a parameter for Pilot ability.

  • perhaps I missed something here but does this video even mention pilot skill?

pilot skill is completely irrelevant! he is simply demonstrating the stability of the aircraft in a hover, and stating that its stability is greater than the walkera and novus. don't get so hot and bothered, because even if it is easier to fly, novices are still pilots! thats what i don't understand about my fellow r/c pilots. why is it always such a huge competition? what happened to flying for fun?

  • @simmonstwopointzero , Didn't you know? Doing anything at all just for the pure joy of it … doing something for its intrinsic pleasure … is out of fashion in these increasingly competitive times. The best example is music, which should be a shared pleasure, whilst instead we get 'Battle of the Bands', 'American Idol' etc and musos regard each other as enemies and rivals. Same with everything else -- a great loss to our culture is the loss of the capacity of fun for fun's sake.

  • @Gairlochan Indeed. It's why I don't like football or sports in general. Sure, winning is a rush, but there's plenty of ways to win without stepping on on everyone else in the process.

  • remember the best pilots are the ones that CONTROL the rc heli not let the rc control them, in other words the more stable without touch your heli is the less of a pilot you are! and who ever said walkera is nothing compared to this is obviously not an experienced pilot! the more YOU CONTROL is what determines what kind of a pilot you are

  • honestly, that's like saying a pilot is unskilled because they have a good-flying aircraft.

"oh my, my funtana flies in a straight line without me on the sticks, I must be a lowly noob who can't solo! "

  • i got my opinion just like you have yours. i can say whatever the fuck i want and so do you.

  • Please don't 'Flame' so much - this is a FUN hobby, we don't want it spoiled by aggressive comments.

  • this is 10 steps above walkera and does 20mph

  • walkera is junk compared to this !

  • Depends on what Walkera model you talk about. The new 4g6 is just awesome.

The msr is awesome though, just recently got mine.

  • walkera have come out with the cb100 its the 4 3b with a 45 degree flybar system so i reckon that rivals the stability of this. id love to race my 4 3b against an msr i wonder which is fastest:s ha but yeah that is very stable mate
