I am former pro player and give lessons for a living. He has great hands but the rock back has got to go. Nomar Garciaparra said the same thing the other night on air during college world series. BUT the fact that he hit .438, 20 plus home runs in Junior college as a 17 year old is amazing. The thing that is going to help him is he will have five years to figure it out. I hit .315 in A ball and hit .258 in AA the next year. They figure you out. But since he is only 17. he is really unbelievable

There is a load, a launch, a contact point, finish and balance. I dont care how someone swings those are techniques you have to have. His body rock back will have to be altered. Watch a good hitter, like barry bonds, and the angle of his arms and elbows are the SAME throughout the whole swing. Than go watch some barrel hooking fuck, who pulls the shit out of it, and you'll see the difference between someone who can hit .300 or better and someone who hits .220 with a few bombs.

from my impressions on harper, he looks like he could easily play any position on the diamond because he is such a complete 5 tool player and then some. one thing that i havnt seen anybody say is his speed. He can flat out fly. Very good speed to go along with is incredible hustle. Wherever he plays in the bigs he can play any position any day no doubt.
