  • The lake house brings me here

  • @quyduong6789 heh me too <3

  • This song was 40 years ago no.18 in the world year-end-charts #carole #king

  • Goodness... I wish I lived in that era... Such exceptional music... In my generation real music is no longer.

  • Time Life Collection brought me here.

  • What an amazing songwriter and musician she is.

  • she looks white!

  • @karlakarlakarlaka ,,,She's Jewish.

  • What a smile!! You can still see it to this day

  • @jmadams75 I totally agree! Her smile is so real.

  • Tapestry superb !!

  • Love this song! One of the best on Tapestry. Check out my cover of it :)

  • It's REALLY too late for the 18 who clicked dislike.

  • WHen I hear this song I picture myself in a bar in Texas drinking a beer, few ppl shooting pool, barkeep wiping down the bar, me lighting a cigg just waiting for that special someone to walk in and break the night...

  • This song was 40 years ago no.6 in the world charts #carole #king

  • Classic !

  • This song was 40 years ago no.4 in the world charts #carole #king

  • que linda melodia hermosa xD

  • love it

  • Back then Carole, Carly, etc.. Today: Gaga, Perry, Beyonce, ad nauseum !

    I'll take then.

  • @n8tureboy Hell yes. These songs have held up beautifully after all these years. Carole King, all praise baby, I love ya you cutie pie.

  • @Loejyrrab

She's a real darlin', isn't she? Don't forget Karen Carpenter and Linda Rondstadt. Those ladies knew the value of real music and real emotion and superior songwriting.

Heavenly voices like angels! I'm in heaven...

  • @n8tureboy I checked out your channel. Nice place it is. No bullshit. Bravo. You're a young dude and I like that you appreciate the oldies of my era, the 60's & 70's. maybe early Eagles too. Linda Rondstat? Oh brother what a sweet heart! And I still miss Karen. Tragic! Especially for her brother, the talented Richard. You hang in there kid!

  • @Loejyrrab Hey thanks bro! You've got me chuckling...I'm 44, definitely no "kid", but I do feel like one sometimes. I'm a fan 0f 60's, 70's and 80's music after that I wouldn't vomit on any of it, out of respect for vomit...LOL!

    Thanks for the nice comment!

    N8

  • @n8tureboy Ya gotta understand when you're 67 everybody's a freekin kid! Nice talking to ya pardner!!

  • @Loejyrrab

You sound like a young 67! Thanks my friend.

  • @n8tureboy Ya know, it's hard to believe I'm that old. It just sorta sneeks up on you. You probably feel that way on occasion yourself. I'm also a working musician for almost 40 yrs. I love what I do and that helps keep me younger. Plus, I have all my hair. BTW, I have one single solitary video on Tube. Google Joel Barry. I sing an Italian aria. The vid is 13 yrs old and was made at my uncle's 70th birthday party. Bye bye!

  • @Loejyrrab

Hey Joel. If you've got all your hair, well then you're doing better than me, LOL!

I'll check you out! What a career, to be a working musician. I'm envious of you.

Take care and here's to another 20 or 30 good years Joel!

  • @n8tureboy Yep, hair ain't the problem. Everything else is breaking down. Recovering from knee surgery. Spinal surgery was back in March and rotator cuff 1&1/2 yrs ago. Thank God for Medicare. I hope it's there for you younger folks. But none of this kept me from a gig last night at one of Chicago's top spots. It was a private party at the great Spiaggia on Michigan Ave. It's a beautiful city natureboy.

  • @Loejyrrab

Hey Joel. You sir, have one awesome voice!! I just listened to your wonderful singing voice. Wow!

You make your living singing, huh? I'm envious kind sir.

On the topic of orthopedic surgery, I've had two broken legs and a broken thumb. My significant other also works for an Orthopedic surgeon doing spine and knee replacements, so I know all about them!

Good luck to you and keep crooning!

  • @n8tureboy

Oops, spine surgery not spine replacements, LOL!

  • @n8tureboy Good morning internet addict. Ha Ha! Me too.Yep, I make a decent living singing&playing keyboards. In 1990, after hearing the 3 tenors, I decided to study opera. The video you saw is the result. I'm the only piano bar guy in Chi that can go from Billy Joel to Puccini in a split sec. BTW,spine replacement? How could that be? Knees, yes but spines? What's next? Oh well! My 4 yr old grandson plays guitar and piano already.Well, he bangs anyway. Lessons are coming up.My knee is killin me.

  • @n8tureboy Oh, thanks for the compliment. First name?

  • Carole Kind will always be one of the great ones.

  • One of the best song in the world.....indeed! Always fresh to me.....

  • This song was 40 years ago no.4 in the world charts #carole #king

  • Unfortunately, the sound quality on this video doesn't do justice to this legendary performer or this great, classic song.

  • carole king is just like led zeppelin's robert plant. a person who will never get old in my mind.

  • Carole King is not a Punk; She's a Princess who deserves respect. If y'all disagree, just listen to this tune, and you'll see.

  • Caole king is not a Punk; She's a Princess who deserves respect. If y'all disagree, just listen to this tune, and you'll see.

  • This song was 40 years ago no.6 in the world charts #carole #king

  • A woman with EXCEPTIONAL talent, a wonderful songwriter - Madonna, Lady Gaga et al are SO NOT in the same league...CK never needed to prove herself with fancy costumes ; 0 )

  • I really love this song... makes me cry! ='(... <-- Its too late baby... we really try to make it...

  • That smile has stayed with her all of her career. Thanks Carole.

  • Beauty...

  • this reminds me of my aunt Jan who died last Mar,she used to play this&sing it on piano when I was little, never will forget it..love you &miss you!!

  • She's just so beautiful.

  • really great ... music ,sound and voice !

    lg.maik !

  • This New Yorker is truly one of the greatest singer/songwriters of our generation.Along with carly Simon, Neil Sadaka, Paul Simon, Bachrach/David, you'll never see a greater collection of artist ever.

  • I wish Carol was in My Living room..

  • @dockie1964 i like milk

  • im a 19 year old dude who listens to rap and loves to smoke chronic and this is one of my favorite songs. fuck a hater.

  • my favorite carol king song. her words speak the truth

  • Carole was a talented artist and writer..loved her collaborations with James Taylor. Loved Carol the most and even sang some of her songs in a band in the early seventies...wonderful lady /

  • the punks as you say have no idea what music really is. They wouldn't know a melody or harmony if it slapped them in the face. All they now is a bunch of the same lyrics (if you can call them that) said over and over with the electronic music which mean they need not know how to play a real instrument. Who really cares what they think anyway. You either like the music or you don't. Give me that old time rock and roll any day. The current rap hip hop junk is something they can keep.

  • Well, Carole could have at least finished constructing her piano before she played it!

  • fuck u haters bitch i love this song :)

  • i like this song .

  • I agree this is great music and haters should go and listen to something they like if they don't like this....but when you use foul language to tell them that...it's like you're lowering yourself to their level. Honour classy music with classy behaviour.

  • Class stands the test of time. Best breaking up song ever. Words as true now as they were 40 yrs ago !

  • Even with poor quality audio, I can't remember any actress in any role or any singer who looked more radiant then Carole King does here. The simplicity of her lyrics combined with her passionate delivery makes me appreciate what her old-time fans knew long ago, that Carole King spoke for a generation of women. Being a role model for an entire generation is a burden no person is eager to carry but I think she was that. Not only does she sing of love, but she looks like she's in love. Wow.

  • great ! Thanks !

  • I love the guitar here.

  • I'm glad for what we had, and how I once loved you.

  • Tapestry. Did every damn good song idea come from this one damned album?

  • @nogoodusernames667 No, I don't think Hey Jude did.

  • @Alikah1 Don't make it bad .... :)

  • What's all the arguing about? Such a beautiful song and a beautiful woman. Amazing how good it is anyway with that raw "live in room" recording.

  • This song was dedicated to me back in 1975 when my lost broke up with me after five years of being together. She was my first love. I was crushed for life.

  • Comment removed

  • hha the quality almost like she is singing it and playing the piano in the shower lol

  • que delícia,....curto como cantora e compositora.

  • 11 have never felt heart ach.

  • HER VOICE...... it is just CREAM

  • Real and natural talent, just SINGING, no computer alterations, no over-layering, not screaming, yelling and no VOCAL GYMNASTICS. Simply, singing HER OWN words and notes, and meaning it. It's simple: a real talent, an ARTIST.

  • Very, very sexy woman when she came out. To be able to sing and play like that is very sexy...and talented!

  • Carole manages to look feminine, and, in my humble opinion, quite attractive without flaunting herself. She had too much class to go that route. Good for her!

  • one of the greatest and talented lady musician of all the time..

  • Listen Radio Música para Mimos. The best songs of love. (search in Google)

  • i think that carol king did a great job on her album tapestry and her song it's to late, when i first heard the song i went out and bought the cd, i thought that it was and is a great album.

  • Carole King is really considered one of the top songwriter singers in the history of music. There's no argument about that.

  • she was one great song writer before any thing else people forget.....

  • my absolute favorite recording of this great song. relaxed, naturally, divine! did you see that angel smile at the end of the song?

  • Why is it everytime I look at old music that i love to dig on it, i look down to read posts of praise and all I see is punks saying some flash-in-the-pan bitch is "better' and others saying they are full of horseshit? Whatever happened to enjoying misic instead of saying "MY favorite band's dick is bigerr than your band's!!!" For fuck sakes, people, just dig on some awesome fucking tunes and shut your hole about the "grand debate' on "who is better". This is one great jam...great lyrics. ENJOY!

  • @stmichelob We can do without "For fucks sakes" and "fucking tunes" if you want to be taken seriously.

  • @tommerrigan1956 Oh, my bad. I was angry, and since I am a Marine and "earned" my right to free speach, maybe you can suck it up and walk it off if I posted a comment that offended your sensabilities. No one pointed a gun to your head and made you read my "naughty" words. Let it go, libtard. If it hurts your eyes so much to see "profanity", then maybe you should consider not ever reading a "free speach" post like youtube again. Until then, Do not EVER presume to tell me what to say, EVER.

  • @stmichelob Nothing turns me on more than the First Amendment.

  • @stmichelob - At ease there, Marine. Retired Army here, so I know all about the "earned" thing. Please drop it. This has nothing to do with the spirit of this song, or even the message of Carole's music. Thank you for your service and taking point, but please don't use it like the "Battersea Shield" to justify vitriolic comments.

  • @stmichelob you said it man, same with the whole stones beatles feud. why can't people just like all good music?

  • @stmichelob yeah itend to agree with you it is what it is, if it wasnt a great song in the first place it would not try to be recreated by another band. Mind you if the band has any class most of the time they are singing the song out of respect , I personally have never heard a band say there version is better, just the bands fans, There was a band once who did that but i just cant seem to rememeber their names anymore.........................

  • @stmichelob finally someone who speaks there damn mind

    instead of some fucking babble

  • @theaceofspades57 Thank you. I am an old Marine and have no time for bullshit, especially in 255 words or less. i love music, from Fleetwood Mac to Slayer, from James Brown to Tool, and this horseshit battle is sickenning to me.

  • @stmichelob nice choice of music and ya know what just ignore this pointless rabble and listen to the music

  • @stmichelob You know, that's an excellent point.

My comment will be: Great song, great performance, great performer!

  • @stmichelob NO! The phonies must be uncovered!

  • @stmichelob i second that!

  • @stmichelob Wow, that was a rather civilized, cultured comment. If you graduated from a school, go and get your money back. You need to get laid real bad evidently, Mich.

  • @The5thAngelRose Boy, you ain't kiddin'!

What does your sister look like?

  • Because the music that's been play to day is not for the good of man, it's all for business, leaving mankind soul less. back then our souls were filled, and music was felt in the heart. No matter what they do, good music will come around again, it's a matter of when.

  • @stmichelob Absolutely: there was a time, before TV and internet, when family entertainment and recreation was the sing a long around the piano or fiddle-player. It's terrible to think how many fine voices, how many new, beautiful melodies have been thwarted by society's changing face. Music isn't about who is the best, it's about expressing what it's like to be human.

  • @stmichelob The best argument I've heard for YouTube to just eliminate the comment option. Well said!

  • @stmichelob Bwhahahahahahah!!! I feel your pain, I work with a bunch of "twenty-somethings"...some who are really intelligent and some who are the dullest tools in the box...I play some of these 'oldies" for them and some "get it" and some don't,,,hang in there. It's NOT "all for naught"

  • @wevetra13 I'm a "twenty-something" and I can tell you straight-up that that I can't imagine music being even worth listening to if it weren't for such amazing artists such as Carole King! PS, I have the Tapestry album on CD, LP, and 8-Track.

  • SHE IS THE QEEN OF THE MUSIC.... FOR EVER!!!!

CAROLE KING ES LA REINA DE LA MUSICA.....PARA SIEMPRE

  • This is fantastic!

  • ..she is just bleeping gorgeous...what a doll.

  • At this point in her life, when she did Tapestry, WOW ....the album is awsome.

  • why can't pop artists sing and write like this anymore? there's a few, but not that many.

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE for the same reason that u, at 14, did not want to be jailed in a world where only ur parent's music existed. this evolutional truth will never change. what should stop, however, is the never ending ridicule of a new generations' art founded on the premise of the superiority of the previous one.

  • @dreadrocksean

are you stupid or something? lol when did I say the previous generation was better? quit assuming things and giving overkill answers. I love modern music, listen to tons of hip hop, modern rock, reggae and soul. I was just saying that POP artists like the ones in the 70's are scarce now. Don't vent on me because you have friends that say "today's music sucks" =p

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE Then consider 2 things. 1/ Make specific statements. Yours was general. 2/ Make sure that you don't contradict yourself.

    Yes I am stupid.

  • @dreadrocksean

    1. It was super specific

    2. I never contradicted myself

    3. Ahaha

  • cuz theres no imagination anymore these days MMA.....

  • @rkstrlife

well I mean I love many new songs, but I'm mostly referring to pop artists. Their voices and lyrics just aren't to par with oldies like these.

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE It is a shame. Sure we have some great rock/ metal bands and artists. but pop is lacking . I hate to say but when you strip away all the studio added noise Gaga is the best 'Pop' singer out there. I blame the industry for putting out loads of artists that sound like whatever is considered hot at the time and the people who buy it for one reason or another.

  • @alwaysxnever

Completely true, fact of the matter is, most people like being told what to like instead of thinking for themselves. Well that Katy Perry actually has a pretty voice, but the shit that comes out of her mouth is completely uninspired.

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE Whatever, people always comparing one generation to the next and getting thumbed up for it, it's arrogance, Katy Perry has plenty of inspired work herself and a completely different style. You can't compare apples to oranges and variety is the spice of life. The truth is you can't handle change and it's self evident by the SHIT coming out of your FINGERS.

  • @twasbrillig33

Calm down snob, don't be getting all negative under this AMAZING song. My taste is music is vast, I listen to a shit ton of modern music, but the good kind, not that crap you seem to enjoy.

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE You are correct. They will be told what to like because all that is available is the garbage that's thrown before them! It is the norm for them now and they don't know any different. Aside from isolated incidences, the majority of good music is sadly in the past. At least that's my take on it.

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE

Agreed. It's not about "pretty voices" actually. They are a dime a dozen, and many are singing at the local Holiday Inn music night. Bob Dylan sure doesn't have a "pretty voice," but it's legendary.

This song is iconic, and nothing lately can touch it.

From a long time Warner Bros Records employee, during the Mo Ostin years. AKA, the real years.

  • maravilhosa muito boa

  • awesome :~

  • I was only a little kid when this song was big, but it was one of my moms favorites that has stayed with me for years. Great song!

  • I Love it.... !! it's a beautifull song, from 70's, and of course in The lake house film...you feel it again as the first time in your life.

Lovely, charles. (other imitationst, never compare ti...)

  • Vi no filme Casa do Lago. Com a Sandra Bullock e Keanu Reeves.

    Film The Lake House.

  • I never really knew anything about Carole King until I heard Live at the Troubadour, and now I can't get enough! She is now, by far, most favorite female artist.

  • those were the days. nice song.

  • ah it takes be back

  • We are going to see Carole & James in LV next week. We are stoked. Have seen James 3 times, can't wait to see them together'

  • Thanks for posting!!! Undoubtedly three of the most talented muscians together: Carole King, Charlie Larkey, and Danny Kortchmar! :-)

  • Why isn't there a version on here with the natural sound?Whoever posted this is an ass for changing the sound.

  • me encanta esta cancion

  • only really started listening to carole king in the last 6 months because i dont know why i never liked to listen to female artists as i always found them a bit boring to listen to.

but i have gotta say that all changed with CK.

she is without doubt the greatest female artist of all time. she is a amazing writer and performer, she is well up there with my favorite artists like billy joel, elton john phil collins, genesis, paul mccartney, bee gees etc. she is as we say in england bloody great

  • is carole king the original singer of this song, cause i heard so many singers who sings this song?

    great song anyway

  • @darksharingan723 - Yes, Carole wrote the music, and Toni Stern the lyrics. Carole recorded this for "Tapestry" in 1971, it was then covered by the Isley Brothers, Billy Paul and The Stylistics in 1972...

  • Still makes me cry

  • Even though I love this song,it's never too late....

  • a great Jewish artist

  • @Zeeceei

    Greater than that.

She is a awesome human artist.

  • @sapemi08

    Greater yes.. you're right.. awesome

  • Comment removed

  • @GIQUE900 I think her hair looks beautiful. Yes, it is straightened some but it is very wavy and soft. No one should be ashamed of their curls! Curls rock!

  • Comment removed

  • @GIQUE900 I feel ya. My mother was a young woman during that time and she told me how girls used to straighten their hair with clothing irons. And curl it with orange juice cans. :P I thought it was funny, but also marveled at how creative women were back then. My sister has had problems with her super curly hair but has now learned to embrace it. It's nice though that now we have a simple tool handy for when the situation calls for it.
