@thelightning87 It doesn´t make any difference if you´ve got the throttle floored. It ONLY affects transmission. That is, it keeps the car in lower gears and shifts down with less throttle to insure quicker response.

When accelerating it doesn't matter whether it is in D or DS it would do the same with both.
The difference is between D and DS is that while in DS the car would shift back earlier during braking and down hills to give and extra slowing power besides the brakes. So, when u're cornering u'll feel it more sporty because the car will shift back when u brake at the entrance of a corner but the accelerating is the same in both D and DS.
BMW diesel are sexy... we've got the E61 525d with 177 HP. and this engine is pretty good... we reached 242 km/h on the autobahn. the 2,5 litre diesel is more than enough for this car. it pulls very good, and till now the only car that was able to shake us off on the federal highway was an audi a8 w12. but 530d is fucking powerfull too... all BMW engines are very good. even the 520d.

because top engine can reach that speed... same to the focus mk2 it has 240 on board but the 1.4 l engine goes with max 180... but the 2.0 l 145 bhp engine can reach that speed in a while... :)

Can anyone tell the difference between the 530d vs the 535d although i think the 535d accelerates fast but i never seen a 535d on youtube do 260kmh please would appreciate if someone tells me the difference in terms of driving feel etc thanks

535d is also 3 liter diesel, but it has two turbos, so it adds some performance

Great car .. just got it 2 days ago .. i think this is 218 hp .. because in my 530d 231 hp it goes a bit faster :P maybe im wrong lool ..

Hi All..i have a few questions:
Why citroen put 260Km/h and the car top speed is 215 kp/h lol...and Bmw put 260 and car can go 262 kph..is limited or the car wont ass 260?
I like 530D, im going to get one 525D or 530D , dont know yet. The climb 200-260 is long...but driving 260 must be amazing.

because top engine can reach that speed... same to the focus mk2 it has 240 on board but the 1.4 l engine goes with max 180... but the 2.0 l 145 bhp engine can reach that speed in a while... :)

u should put gear to M then rpm goes to very high and than change gear so car can accelrate faster and sound its deeper hehe :):) my friend always driving in M that 530 D

Fuckers as if you'd knock a 530D, if i had any choice of 5 series range excluding the M5 it'd be that. Just wait 3 years and the M5 will probably be worth the same and you would have used a hell of a lot more fuel!

panachico you fucking ritard a M5 haw 400-507hp and a 530d haw a 218-240hp and the topp speed on the M5 is 300km/h and the 530d`s topp speed is 260km/h and the 530d gos 0-100km/h in 6,3sec and the M5 0-100 in just 4,7sec

were you accelerating by full throttle? 530i(aut) makes 0-200 in 25 sec, 530d would really make it slower with 35 sec??

auf welcher leeren dt autobahn kannst du einfach mal so anhalten und dann durchbeschleunigen? und ich glaube kaum das du schon vom rastplatz aus das gaspedal gen erdmittelpunkt gedrückt hast. und noch was ist mir aufgefallen: ne dt. autobahn leer? am tag? ?? o.O

hey here in Philippines my 2006 520d HAS up to 300kmh too so lets give Paulosi a hand for saying the truth!!520d accelerates to 60 in 5.8 sec.!!

I'm from Portugal and i drove a E60 530d with a 260km/h tachometer... and i never saw a 520d with a 300km/h tachometer. I'm sure that your uncle 520d is a "special" edition lolol
