Wow really great video I love making salsa im from colorado.in the.valley and every year we go and pick bushels of chile and I say every year im gonna can salsa but never do.bc I dont know.how :( lol but after watching a few videos im catching on...so the only ? I have.is the lemon juice correct me if.im wrong was it.just to preserve or for flavor any.help would b appreciated thanks bjv
Looks great, you did a fine job. It is good to learn how to can. I have been doing it for years. You look like you may have a high mineral content in your water. To avoid the white haze on the outside of your jars after canning, add a couple tablespoons of white vinegar to your canning water and it will be eliminated. Keep it up! Looks like you did this last fall, tomatoes are in season, better get busy.
We canned a good bit of salsa last summer and it is so much better than store bought. I am sure you agree. It actually tastes better now than it did when we were cooking it.
lord ppl ask why can? .because its healthier and it tastes soooooooo much better homemade

@719bjv112 More for the preserving. Lime would be better for the taste we think.

@atticus9799 thank you for the tip. We do have high levels of lime in our water, so I'm sure that was causing the hazing.
thanks for watching and commenting on the video.

A tip for your knife to stay sharp... Don't use the cutting edge for scraping things off the cutting board, instead flip it and use the backside.

@TrailChaser Excellent tip... I never thought of that.
thanks for watching.

P.S. we just opened up these jars and they are better now since sitting for 8 months in storage. :)
