  • Good stuff. Thanx for sharing.

  • Memories of my sweet Bobby...gone my love but never forgotten. Our song always...Thank you for 2 great kids and 30 beautiful years.I'll always love you.

  • @theTipkemper you are right. Bob Armstrong is my Great uncle. he died of melanoma caner that developed under his nail 10 years ago. the docters said he woulden't survive untill christmas but he did. he is the one on the right side looking at the stage

  • The keyboardist on this date is not Bob Armstrong. Bob is the vocalist behind Gene on the right. And yes, unfortunately, he passed away on 12/27.

  • The keyboardist is Bob Armstrong. Unfortunately Bob just passed away this month.

  • who's the keyboardist?

  • @trd2009 If you still care after all this time, the only "Casinos" were the vocalists. Gene used to travel and record with 9 people including organ and horns. The musicians in this clip were all union musicians hired for the show. (Big clue---if they're reading music after 45 years of playing this tune, they were hired for the gig.)

  • @trd2009 PBS used a couple of house bands joined together for these shows. The horn and string sections were the Ric Mansfield Orchestra. The drummer, keyboardist, guitarist, and bassist, as well as the four backing vocalists behind Jerry Butler, are a band called Pure Gold. The keyboardist's name is Larry Siefers.

  • Still miss you whenever I hear this song.

  • I absolutely love this song. It's beautiful.

  • TOCHES

  • COLERAIN HIGH

  • This was # one of the three favorite songs of my girlfriend and me from late '66-'71 Following some mistakes we parted ways only to reconnect this past year. She is as beautiful and even more eloquent than when I fell in love with her 42 years ago. Seeing you occasionally this past year has been heartening and troubling. Our paths still can't meet but this song and old music still run through us. Still luv you.

  • Recalling a romance that started 42 years ago is easy to do when listening to this song. It sounds like you have 999,999,958 years until you will let her "Tell You Good-bye". I hope she never does. It sounds like you "have tried". Is she listening. It sounds like you are a pair who for some reason cannot be together: marriages perhaps? It doesn't mean you cannot still love each other. Good luck.

  • You are right with a slight correction: She has 999,958 years remaining before she can "tell me good-bye" unless she isn't willing to say "we tried". I wish it was a hundred million years but the song only requires a "million years". A marriage on my part and other situations on her part that I do not completely understand keep us near but apart.

  • Gene Hughes, rest in peace had the classic lead voice. It's a shame how many others have tried to hang on the coat tails of this gifted man.

A song, recorded in 1967 is as poignant today as it ever was. Nobody can replace him.

  • Oh yes superb! what a voice, great singing

  • Great!!!!
