  • nice laptop

  • I've always had a thinkpad fetish. I'm no business man either.

  • 300 USD in walmart now!

  • why would you use a laptop while boating... much better things to do

  • @lnconvenient he was doing his job :s

  • i have one, and i love it.. much better than damn tablets :) Lenovo is the best !!!

  • I thinkpad, therefore I am :)

  • As always, no white model for France, really scandalous...

  • name's music

  • My T400's screen finally fried. (T400 was lenovo's biggest mistake since day 1 with the flexy keyboard) Now, I'm going to give Lenovo 1 last try. I need a laptop and at 400 bucks..this could be significantly better (in terms of graphics performance etc.) for half the price of my t400 bought in 2009...The only question is: Can this thing really handle lightweight CAD like the video showed?

  • Darn...he has a great life ; (

  • Comment removed

  • Slick video, as with all Lenovo tours.

Now that guy has an exciting life. I wish I was a bridge builder.

  • well, going to import it to germany for ~150§ than the x121e would cost here. love x120e ;P

  • no support for germany because we don't support nazis u racist scumbags

  • why lenovo bitches can't just release their every product worldwide...It's a globalized world, you have to make it worldwide. It is ridiculous to discriminate consumers in some specific regions.

  • I'm buying one of these, these are excellent :D

  • They make the screen look so big! It's tiny in real life. Or maybe I'm just used to 27" monitors...

  • why would any one want this when you can get a thinkpad t420s....

  • @tf88888888 $1000 price difference :P but you do make a point. the T420s is unparallelled. I currently have a T410s and I love it

  • @tf88888888 That's like saying, "Why buy a smart car when you can get a tank?"

    The argument makes no sense...

  • why use it on a boat

  • @instantdry1 cuz he was buildin' a bridge yo

  • what the music? Please...

  • WANT.

  • @Unit88888888 well maybe because the x220 costs 5-times more than this :p

  • Lenovo better cancel all shipping to Europe!! cause you pissed off so many people. I'm no longer lenovo fan. HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT. Never gonna buy lenovo, its time to switch to sometching else.

  • why would you want this when you can get the thinkpad x220 ??

  • ...just spoke to a very nice lady speaking in German accent, working in Lenovo UK store. Here goes:

x120e will NEVER be available in the UK or any parts of Europe.

However, there is x121e with unnknown specs (as of yet) becoming available in mid-end June.

Of course it's not possible to buy from US online store if you live in UK.

  • @pmagnowski

its july and nothing had happened. no x120e in europe. no x121e/e125 in europe. shame lenovo

  • Do Not Buy This, I ordered mine and after waiting 2 weeks finally received it, had high expectations, but its just not worth it. No hardrive led indicator, No wireless led indicator, No external wireless switch, No pause/break and insert keys. And if you're used to LED backlit display screens then you're going to hate lenovo's regular lcd tft screen. Plus the one I got had a dead pixel. I called Lenovo regarding the dead pixel and they wouldn't fix it. They charged 15% restocking fee the return.

  • Another disappointed customer from germany here. Very bad idea not to sell this baby in Germany.

  • Ah and they use German cars in the Spot... Please Daimler do not sell cars to Lenovo, they dont have deserved them!

Ich bin echt stinksauer! Könnte durchdrehen! Maaaannnn!

  • OK Lenovo, I wanted to buy the S205 first. Then I saw the x120e and its perfect for me, non glare display and AMD Fusion but you dont sell that in Germany? Companies that think they can dictate the wishes of the customers are death for me. Good bye Lenovo have a good time and think about what customer satisfaction means!

Its an epic fail not to sell that Netbook in German, you'll lose customers not just in the area of Netbooks!

Lovely greets a disappointed and in the future customer of MSI

  • this laptop has no power

  • "Dear Lenovo-Fans, we apologize for our erroneous announcement on a possible release of the X120e in Germany. Being a globally acting company we carefully analyze individual markets, hence we decided not to release the x120 in Germany" ... translated from German lenovo facebook message. Again, Lenovo, you are making me speechless regarding your unacceptable decision. More than 131000 hits at the x120 thread in the German Lenovo forum clearly shows the high demand in Germany!

  • It is coming to Germany, look at their facebook page.

  • @colla555 for real???

  • @pecwen They announced on Friday, that they would bring it, yes. But on Tuesday they did comment, that they bring all announced Notebook but not the x120e. These idiots.

  • He looks like the kind of guy that could afford a proper X220.

  • they don't sell white.. Btw, which suitcase that man carries..

  • That was pretty cheesey, but nice thinkpad.

  • i hate widescreen

  • Why don´t you sell it in Germany???

This is so stupid, i would kick your marketing guys which decided to not sell the x120e in Germany out of the door where they had come from!!

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Can i get a AMD Fusion upgrade kit for my IBM PS/2 l40sx? :P

No, seriously though, this laptop looks completely awesome. Netbook size and weight with enough processing power to get the job done right!

  • No sale in Germany = No lenovo at all (edge 11 = bad joke).

  • too bad lenovo excluded germany. we have so many euros to throw at you and you just don't care :(

  • @mahmut123456 Same with the U.K.

  • What will be graphic card memory on it? I did not find any info for AMD Vision Pro?

  • how to be a nolifer:

    1. go on yacht

    2. spend the time browsing the web on your netbook

  • Lenovo did not deserve the CES 2011 for a fusion laptop starting at $399 which you only get a single core, 3-cell, 1 gig ram. Yet HP DM1z at $419 you get a double core , 3 gig ram, 6 cell. What a marketing scheme. Shame on them. HP deserved the award.

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM Really? I just ordered one of the first batch of X120e's, dual core 1.6ghz, 6 cell battery, bluetooth 3.0, for 351 bucks. I guess it literally pays not to be stupid and do a 4 second google search for good deals. BTW, it's dual core, not double core.

  • @wussyib thats bull.... Even if you got it for that price, I wouldn't buy just because of the Thinkpad name. Have fun with the lump in the back of your laptop.

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM Wait, which is it, am I lying or am I not? Lol. Being delivered tomorrow actually via UPS. 350 using Lenovo SPP. Having actually recently owned both Lenovo AND HP, there's really no comparison in build quality. Lenovo > HP. Sure, MSRP is more expensive (although I got mine for 100 bucks less then the d1mz), but you know what they say, you get what you pay for. HP = cheap.

  • @wussyib Even reviewers agree you have to pay premium price for premium specs..

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM You do know that the ThinkPad X120e has a dual-core processor and 2 gigs of RAM standard, right? If you don't belive me, go to Lenovo's website and build your own.

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM Actually, they just lowered the price. $440 now gets 2GB RAM, a 320GB 7200RPM HD, the 6-cell battery, and the E350 CPU (choose the base model and upgrade from there). PLUS you get a matte screen, great keyboard, and professional design. I knwo what I'll be getting.

  • I come from Germany too and I wanted to get one...to sad Lenovo doesn't see the need to offer it here. :(

    btw. nice add

  • Lenovo ThinkPad x120e = Bezel done better.

  • @technotechie Yeah why didn't HP get the hint? You DON'T need an inch thick bezel.

  • To bad Lenovo, now all the Germans are aiming for the dm1z. Cuz we just dont want your damn ThinkPad Edge 11"!!!

  • @iK0Nii

What are you talking about, you have the x121e, which is not a Thinkpad Edge.

  • That would have been mine. Now i have to go for another Asus. Greets from Germany...

  • Best ultaportable (and ultraffordable) on the market. People may claim the HP dm1z is up there, but that is a gimmicky piece of plastic compared to this fine tuned machine. I love the classic design and chicklet keys, as well as the new dual core AMD processor and 4GB of RAM. I cannot wait to purchase this and I feel sorry for the Germans out there.

  • @Hackomplish And what about the lack of a stupid damn glossy finish? +1 to Lenovo.

  • "TRUE MOBILE FREEDOM*"

*except for people living in Latin America, Japan, Australia or Western Europe (including Germany and Norway).

  • Quote GER Lenovo Forum:

"Lenovo, you better take off the video because this smart sales man is travelling from Heathrow and as far as I know, London belongs to Western Europe. So this ad is pretty ironic showing a smart sales man in London although it is not available there.

You really better release a new ad with someone travelling from Warschau, Peking, Rio de Janeiro, Bangalor but elsewhere...this would not be an issue if SMART ppl @Lenovo had decided to sell in Western Europe too."

    LOL

  • @Totoro88 Hi guys -- anyone been hearing about the X121e? (And yes, to answer your next question, it is happening in Germany and the rest of Western Europe!)

  • @LenovoVision Would the X121e be available in North America as well? I'm very interested in knowing. Thank you.

  • @LenovoVision too bad it looks ugly, has no 3G (at least not the AMD models, the intel ones suffer from lowend graphics) and makes an overall "cheap" impression.

  • @LenovoVision fuck you, had my hand over the buy now button but now i'm going to wait >.>

  • @LenovoVision FINALLY!!! I have been waiting for this product to come to Norway for almost a year

  • Hitler will be mad when he learns that there is no x120e for Germany. :P

  • WTF Lenovo if you think that you don't have the market for x120e in WE please make it possible to order it online with WE versions of the keyboard.

  • Its hard to hear that there is no plan to release this notebook in Germany,

enough power for about 90% of the students, high mobility, HD-playback, non glossy Display and high build quality.

The Edge 11 non glossy is no alternative, it costs 800 euro ~ 1100$.

    Its an affordable study notebook.

The x120e would be a nice promotion for Thinkpads higher classes who are out of budget for an average student.

  • I would like to buy the Netbook in Switzerland, the Edge 11 is none alternative for me, already looks since September, 2010 for a suitable Netbook. The Interese in the notebook in Europe is gigantic, you would be quite stupid if to her to you the business should allow to escape.

  • WTF, No x120e in germany! This is realy disappointing.

  • @LenovoVision why won't you sell this machine in Germany? Thats pure marketing strategy together with Intel. If you really do that you're unbelievable big morons... I'll buy something from your competitors although their product is a less desirable choice. And I hope many people will do the same. If you wonder why your sales in "Old" Europe drop... remember this. Fuck You... *grr*

  • @Lenovo: Why this perfect computer will not be available in germany????

I really wanted to buy this, but now i'll take my money to one of your competitors!

    Michael

  • Can Lenovo please explain why west Europe isn't getting this laptop? I'm in west Europe and I want to buy this laptop, not a glossy edge 11" just a black laptop with anti glare. but what surprises me the most is that east Europe is getting this laptop.

why is east Europe getting this laptop and west Europe is put off with an edge 11"?

  • How much is Intel paying you for not shipping this one to Germany?

  • I think I read the release date of the x220 somewhere, but I can't remember when it is?

It was worth a try ;-]

  • As a loyal Lenovo and former IBM customer I cannot understand such an decision. Lenovo, please reconsider this decision and launch the X120e also in Europe.

  • Lenovo FTW!!!

But no German support, this is really fail :-(

  • Well after two days of thought about what I can do when you don't sell this machine in Germany i came to the conclusion, that the Thinkpad Edge 11 is the only real alternative. But since that is exactly what you're intending us "stupid western Europeans" to do we JUST have to buy a product of another manufacturer. Although this sucks it's just a matter of principle to do so... I won't let myself be blackmailed by your marketing strategy... And i hope many other people won't too...

  • Hey Lenovo, it's very simple: I would have bought the X120e. You don't release it in Germany - I will very likely get the Asus EEE PC 1215B, as will thousands of other people. Let's see how you like THAT.

  • Tut mir leid, Lenovo, you're not getting my money, neither is Intel.

  • Dear Lenovo, until yesterday I considered bying your new x120e here in germany. I was disappointed to learn it won't get released here. Please rethink your strategy concerning this new notebook. I already ordered less ideal alternative being available right now so you have some days left. The Edge11 is now alternative to this notebook (with AMD processor) due to the poor battery life.

I'm a professional software developer requiring mobile equipment for both my work and my private projects.

  • What a shame. I've been waiting for weeks for this fine machine to be introduced in Germany and what must I hear now? It won't come here? I'm more than disappointed... Grrr I'm pissed. What must be going on in the brains of these marketing guys... are you on crack or what??? Yah sure... the Thinkpad 11 exists and it will bring you more profit... but it covers different specifications.

  • Obviously you guys are trying to push the more expensive edge 11 here in good'ol europe. But the edge has been released a while ago and only a few people bought it. What males you so sure, that we will buy it now when other companys offer better and cheaper products? Not releasing the x120e is just plain stupid.

Well, it's gonna be the dm1z then...

  • SELL THIS IN GERMANY PLEASE - been waiting for this for ages

  • SELL THIS IN GERMANY DAMNIT - been waiting for this for ages

  • AMD rules

  • Lenovo, shame on you. What a disappointment not to support your customers (or those who wanted to get your customers) in Germany and whole western Europe.

Edge 11? No alternative. Even with a non glare display.

  • Same here, I'm absolutely disappointed with Lenovo. I was looking at the X100e, liked it, but was not convinced. Then the edge 11: too (many Germans won't ever buy a glossy display), but better in terms of battery life, minor improvement in graphics. Then I heard of AMD fusion and I thought: this thing inside an X100e, THAT would be IT! Now here it is, and YOU JUST WONT SELL IT in Germany. Sorry guys, but why don't you sell a product you have to customers that drool for it? Edge 11? Sorry no.

  • come on lenovo, sell the x120e in germany too!!!

  • Epic fail not to support Germany.

  • Not to support in Norway either. But i am importing it from US cost me about 800US inc 25% Vat.

    AMD Fusion E-350 , Windows 7 Professional 64.

Lenovo ThinkPad X120e is only one look good, rest of AMD Fusion laptops are crap :P

  • @d2kx epic success in supporting US

  • I was quiet sure to sell my good old T61 and buy the X120e instead. I was totaly happy about it, so i wanted to stick to lenovo - but now -after the decision; that the x120e will not be realeased in germany- i dont care about your stuff anymore. But hey if you dont want my money other companys wanna have it -i'm sure. My clients will think the same i guess -very very disappointing! Byebye or as we say in germany "Auf Niemmerwiedersehen!"

  • Lenovo, I'm speechless & extremely disappointed regarding your decision to exclude this product from the German sales! I can only agree with Totoro88's comment, if you don't change your decision, I'm done with Lenovo! :-/

  • Lenovo, this time you really disappointed me and I am so mad at your decision leaving out Germany. I already had saved up money to buy one when it is ready for sale. This is such a incomprehendable decision just not to endganger the sales of the Edge 11 and X200/X201. Bye Bye Lenovo!

  • @Totoro88

Not UK even though it shows London Heathrow airport in the advert. :-(

  • @Totoro88

you're gonna buy it either way because it's that good. just pay a few extra bucks and have it shipped internationally. it'll be worth it =)

  • @Totoro88 You can still buy it in Germany, but it comes with glossy screen and glossy case and only 5h Battery life. Totally ugly.

  • @Totoro88 ....he will be back *armold voice

  • @Totoro88 Well its good to see that they chose Persian Gulf (city of Abu Dhabi, UAE I think) as a location to shoot the 2nd half of the movie. Good marketing tactics, and plus this location is the first get the entire Lenovo product line. Good job Lenovo and as always we have the x120e in Canada

  • @Totoro88 he will be back

  • @tf88888888 do you want to tell us something? Are you referring to the rumours of a X121e or the X1? Quoting Arnold Schwarzenegger doesnt tell us anything :)

  • ...not for Western Europe including Germany? ...what a fail, lenovo ... incredible ...

  • @joghurt006 Yes that is realy a shame....

  • This will replace my T61p just fine

  • what cost in €uro

  • I am a college student in business school without a laptop and have been a huge fan of the Thinkpad since my first T22. I hope this will fit my needs as it appears to be a phenomenal product but I have a few questions:

Will USB 3.0, Bluetooth 3.0, and led back-light be a option?

    Any support for Ubuntu Linux?

  • Comment removed

  • @LenovoVision What configurations are available for the X120E?

  • video is simlilar to the HP DM1 video except the HP catered towards a person everyday life and not just business.I'm not impress with the laptop though. Expect $400 gets u a sub par specs like the single core fusion and not the double core 350.

  • Does this netbook incorporate UEFI or EFI or does it use the old-style BIOS?

  • @kaytonrepairs I remember YouTube video with some Lenovo Thinkpad machine running UEFI, but those done only in lab and was not consumer ready. The video was dated in 2010 July. Also they mentioned that this should not be used in real products for at least another year. I would doubt there is UEFI available now, but from what I understand later there could be new firmware which you could use. That fully depends on Lenovo.

There is another option too, called CoreBoot (LinuxBIOS).

  • Will the Arctic White and Heatwave Red versions be available to the general consumer at all? The white version looks gorgeous.

  • Dear Lenovo,

Please make a 12" version that is a true Thinkpad with the rubberized finish and the good old Thinkpad keyboard. Also make it thin like the x100e and x120e. If Lenovo was to make such a notebook that would be perfect notebook. The x300 and x301 was perfect, too bad the line is no longer available.

  • Dear Lenovo,

I will be purchasing X120e when it becomes available this month. Normally I could wait, but I am too excited at this point for this product and I just have to ask this question.

What is the largest capacity battery available for X120e without having it compromise the design (will NOT stick out from the back),

Will this be a 3-cell or 6-cell battery?

I need something that will NOT stick out at the back because I will be carrying it around all the time in a tight-fitting sleeve.

  • x100e can run less than 4hours with its 6-cell battery. I hated it.

But x120 can run about 6 hours!

    I want x120 !!

  • LenovoVision, can you confirm that the overheating-problem of the X100e has been resolved in the upcoming X120e model?

There are many users, who have a dual core X100e, that instantly powers off, when cpu/gpu-load is rising - including me.

  • I'm very excited about this little marvel!! :) I've not been able to find data concerning how much RAM is shared/does anybody know how its GPU should stack up against the ION 2, performance wise? (yes, I'd like to do some light gaming on occasion if possible)

Also, I want to commend Lenovo for answering YouTube questions at all, lol. Oh, and you need to add BLUE to the color options ASAP, pleeeease, haha.

  • I need it, I want it, I love it, I cant wait! +no glare screen +better than intel atom! +HD videos +HDMI +good workmanship +awesome keyboard +nice looking -nothing! i cant believe this thing will cost ~400$/€. I really hope that this price includes the 6 cell battery!
  • am i buying a business man or a laptop?

  • Comment removed

  • Is there any possibility for a 9 cell battery?

  • Great vid, hits right home. And I thought I was the only one thinking of using it in my boat. Great lappie, looking forward to Feb 15.

  • so this isn't with the AMD Fusion processor instead?

  • When does this Product comes to Europe (Netherlands) ?? Great for colleges so i dont have to take my Powerhorse Notebook :-) (heavier :P)

  • Hi,

can you tell me roughly how much will it cost in the UK?

  • @LenovoVision

    Hi,

When will this product be available to order in Canada?

Also, will SSD option be available in my Country?

I can't wait until I place an order for this laptop x120e!

    Thank You!

  • Hi,

great product, I will definitely buy it ;-)

Just a question, why is there a HDMI connector and no Displayport(DP) ?

I just bought a THINKVISION L2321X monitor, which has Displayport and VGA connectors, no HDMI.

There are cheap adapters (~10$) from DP -> HDMI and DP->DVI, but from HDMI -> DP they cost $100, anything cheaper is not going to work. According to wikipedia, Displayport is even royalty free, HDMI is not, thus the product could have been cheaper with a DP port instead of HDMI.

  • Is lenovo planning on making larger sized E-350 based products? A 13.3 inch or 14 inch would be fantastic.

  • Great, i buy an L412 and then this comes out.

  • i wish february 15th would be tomorrow, cant wait any longer.....

  • does this have same screen than x100e?

  • Can you opt for a 64-bit version of windows?

  • @ButteryGub I doubt it, since many low end ones don't. On the other hand, I hope they dump the 1GB RAM option, start it at 2GB, and if so there's really no point in keeping it at a 32-bit OS. Even if it does ship with 32-bit, you can go download a 64-bit Windows 7 image, put it on a flash drive, and install it on the laptop with the included license key. That's what I'm going to do.

  • Any idea what the price starts at in the UK?

  • mmm u cant have turned on devices on a plane:D i dont think some1 would plan a bridge on a notebook like this:D

    but a good commercial..::D

  • @MrLollerka As long as it's not during take off or landing, using electronic equipment is fine.

  • i would also be very interested what exactly will be included in the basic 399$ configuration.

an answer would be greatly appreciated!

  • Reviews and Specs on the Internet mentioned a Low Light Sensitive Webcam, does anyone know the actual specs of the webcam? 2 MP?

This looks like a really good laptop for students who value portability and value for money. Will the new AMD APU be up to the task of basic word procesing, basic JPEG travel photo touching up, some general SD/HD short video clip editng for presentation purposes?

  • it would have been much cooler if the presentation he was giving was about his laptop. :D

  • that song, songs so much like a coldplay sound, i expect to hear chris martin starting singing any minute

  • what are the prices for the different configurations?

the cheapest will be with 250GB 5,400rpm HD and e-260 ?

is this the configuration for 400 $ ?

    what will other configurations cost?

  • WOW this iwll be a very HOT notebook... no CHEAP GLOSSY POS Screen! nice!

  • I may purchase this as my second laptop just for its mobility. I currently have Thinkpad T510, which replaced very old Compaq X1000 series, and loving every minute of it. Very solid build and hopefully will last as long as my old Compaq.

Keep up with the good work Lenovo,

  • What is the specs for under $400? Same 6 cell battery as shown?

  • Do you know the specs for under $400? Will it come with same size battery?

  • This will be my FOURTH ThinkPad since starting with a 240 about 11 years ago. Thanks IBM and Lenovo, and eat that Apple fanboys,

  • That is exactly the kind of laptop I am waiting for. Sadly, I just got my thinkpad edge 13.

  • Forget Apple. Forget Sony. Real men use Thinkpads!

  • I will buy this laptop, too. Good Job, guys.

    germany.

  • Oops my bad, didn't see the release date down there. Well kudos for having a global release date unlike those apple guys.
