there is only one way short of getting rid of the government to get out of this god awful shitty mess. buy a piece of land way off the road, dont pave or lay gravel down for a drive way to the road. build your house and power it solely buy solar and wind power. grow your own food and buy some live stock to raise and slaughter once they give birth and get fat and juicy. then build a diesel car that you make ur own fuel for. then we will be self sufficient. i just need the damn money to do it lmao

No one will listen until it's too late...I don't mind being the crazy one at work, the fear mongerer, I take comfort in knowing that there journey will have to be different than mine and that gives me peace to walk by them, smile and know I did what I could.
All you can do is try to educate them. Just make sure you teach your kids and they will carry the flame after you are gone or disabled. Your kids will see your leadership by example, learn from it, and remember it. There is nothing you can do for the addict who is in denial and not ready to change. Do not let it frustrate you. Just love them and be there for them. Help them live more sustainably. Help them with answers to the questions that affect them, even if they do not understand them.

we are all subject to this. Preppers get a lot of packages in the mail - most of us buying from various places. Even our postman is a potential risk to us - not understanding what we are doing. So I reward him with gift cards from Best Buy, or something and tell him the truth - that I program software to talk to gadgets, etc... which is certainly true, but not always true for everything I buy - but it does provide cover for my preps and sets my postman at ease. It's a shame one has to do this.

I've been saying this for years and everyone thinks I'm nuts. Now my wife has finally come around and Im happy about that. Now she sees what I have been talking about, and now she helping me getting our house ready and supplies. How I got her to turn around was just stop talking to her about it and just let her take a look and see for herself. I told my family just don't come running to me, your locked out.
You are 100% right about vaccines. I no longer get flu shots because the last two times I received one, I got terribly sick and dehydrated. And I have no egg allergies or anything like that. So my body obviously was rejecting the flu vaccine for some reason. Now I avoid those shots and I have never gotten sick like that again.

All throughout history is has always been the few who could see and prepare that survived. I lost my best and oldest friend because I showed her the government site with the contracts for food, water, body bags, fuel, shelters, blankets, radiation badges etc.(for 7 million survivors) for the FEMA NLE in May. It seems proof of intent really angers those who refuse to see.
I'm going thru the same thing with a couple of my siblings. They think I'm paranoid. My oldest brother keeps telling me to stop reading too much into this. We haven't spoken on the phone in two years.

Sorry to say, I've been trying to wake people up for about four years now...and they don't want to hear it, it's scary they say. Most just look at you like you're losing your mind. I was watching this video when my girlfriend asked who you were and what I was doing. I told her and she laughed and thought it was "funny that was doing all of this food storing and worrying about the govt. so much". Honestly, it made me mad. I'm still mad. These are big issues and sometimes divisions within relationships will occur. What you say is right, but you can't force it down people's throats. If someone doesn't want to hear it, let them be. That way you can keep your friends; you can't help people whom you have pushed away.
This is an amazing topic. I can not even get my Mom, brother, and sister to prepare for a 72 hour emergency. If I can't get them that far there is now way to impress long term survival. It is too bad that many people will only be able to react after the fact and not act with a plan which can mean survival. All of our families will be redefined after the $HTF!

I feel the same way my wife thinks that I am crazy. I've been in the military and I know that if you are not prepared then you will do nothing and die. my wife is one of those people that will sit and rely on the government to come to the rescue. She would rather bury her head in the sand and pretend that everything is okay.

@awarepatriot I got a rude awakening to mercury in 2002 when my son turned 2 years old and was given immunization shots. He stopped speaking completely until 3. His motor skills were permanently damaged. Even today at 11 years old, he sometimes spontaniously falls, slapping the kitchen floor for no appearant reason. I have family photos showing a happy 2 yo boy, followed by 3 yo photos with pained facial expressions.
Yes I have rolled the idea around in my head. I have my gear and supplies staged up ready to go when I think the time is right. I have picked myself out a remote wilderness location on a hill top, with a water source. I'm not sure yet if I will tell anyone where I'm going. It seems odd to me that I have in a way kinda received signs from many people that they would not be trustworthy post collapse. They just don't have the mentality to work with me and not against me.

But if they just listen but don't do anything, I have a care package I'm going to give them. The bottom line is if/when it gets this bad, which I feel it will, we are going to have to put our feet down on solid ground and tell many people "no". Don't worry man; I get into arguments with my family and they get exasperated, this system is precarious and liable to change and fluctuate. I just try to dodge any contentious topics for the sake of my sanity. They look at me weird when I get dry boxes and closed cell foam and make boxes full of survival gear.

I think my wife believes I am obsessed with all the patriot issues right now and with prepping in general. I have tried to educate the extended family and some of my "good friends". I don't think they take it seriously. With that said, I have taken measures to include my mother-in-law, brother and sister-in-law in my food and water cache build up. Yes, it definitely has cost me much more money but there is no way I would turn them away in an emergency. How do you educate others???

All you can do is try to educate them. Just make sure you teach your kids and they will carry the flame after you are gone or disabled. Your kids will see your leadership by example, learn from it, and remember it. There is nothing you can do for the addict who is in denial and not ready to change. Do not let it frustrate you. Just love them and be there for them. Help them live more sustainably. Help them with answers to the questions that affect them, even if they do not understand them.

we are all subject to this. Preppers get a lot of packages in the mail - most of us buying from various places. Even our postman is a potential risk to us - not understanding what we are doing. So I reward him with gift cards from Best Buy, or something and tell him the truth - that I program software to talk to gadgets, etc... which is certainly true, but not always true for everything I buy - but it does provide cover for my preps and sets my postman at ease. It's a shame one has to do this.

Now she sees what I have been talking about, and now she helping me getting our house ready and supplies. How I got her to turn around was just stop talking to her about it and just let her take a look and see for herself. I told my family just don't come running to me, your locked out.

You are 100% right about vaccines. I no longer get flu shots because the last two times I received one, I got terribly sick and dehydrated. And I have no egg allergies or anything like that. So my body obviously was rejecting the flu vaccine for some reason. Now I avoid those shots and I have never gotten sick like that again.

I lost my best and oldest friend because I showed her the government site with the contracts for food, water, body bags, fuel, shelters, blankets, radiation badges etc.(for 7 million survivors) for the FEMA NLE in May. There is no switch that I can just shut off and go back to sleep; I know thyself too well. And because there has been no geat wisdom without a degree of madness, I accept that those I care about may choose to think I have lost my mind - it is EASIER than knowing TRUTH.
I have seen no less than 7 marriages destroyed this way in the last 6 weeks.

Sorry to say, I've been trying to wake people up for about four years now...and they don't want to hear it, it's scary they say. Most just look at you like you're losing your mind. You know that look.....the sickly smile that says you should be medicated and put into a pretty white jacket with buckles in the back.

I was watching this video when my girlfriend asked who you were and what I was doing. I told her and she laughed and thought it was "funny that was doing all of this food storing and worrying about the govt. so much". Honestly, it made me mad. I'm still mad. I'm tired of people making comments about preps as being crazy. I guess I'd rather be crazy than starving and dead. After a while I realized that sometimes no matter how much you try to help someone, your efforts are limited if they don't want help. Eventually your family will realize truth in the things you say as the living conditions in our country decline further. Until then, save your best for those that matter the most.

I try to explain to people about economics and the trends that things have been going since the 2008 bailouts and even today, where all prices are going rise as well as tax after elections. Actually SHTF in sept 2011 cause of arm asset reset rates.
No matter how legitimate of an argument i give, no one cares and thinks i'm crazy. I've been sad alot lately because no one wants to listen to reality. I have only had one friend who is considering to at least buy a rifle.

This is an amazing topic. I can not even get my Mom, brother, and sister to prepare for a 72 hour emergency. If I can't get them that far there is now way to impress long term survival. I've been in the military and I know that if you are not prepared then you will do nothing and die. my wife is one of those people that will sit and rely on the government to come to the rescue. @awarepatriot I got a rude awakening to mercury in 2002 when my son turned 2 years old and was given immunization shots. He stopped speaking completely until 3. His motor skills were permanently damaged. Even today at 11 years old, he sometimes spontaniously falls, slapping the kitchen floor for no appearant reason. I have family photos showing a happy 2 yo boy, followed by 3 yo photos with pained facial expressions.

Yes I have rolled the idea around in my head. I have my gear and supplies staged up ready to go when I think the time is right. I have picked myself out a remote wilderness location on a hill top, with a water source. I'm not sure yet if I will tell anyone where I'm going. It seems odd to me that I have in a way kinda received signs from many people that they would not be trustworthy post collapse. They just don't have the mentality to work with me and not against me.

It also seems to me that the only way to strive through the impending transition stage is to approach it through a "modern amish" life style. I can tell you mate that this whole thing is far worse than it seems. I used to think (about a decade ago) that conspiracy theorists were sort of out of tune with reality... Good points you address here. I find it brave of you to come forward this way. My attempts to wake my family up for the last 5 years turned me in a "nutcase" to most. Here's the same (Oporto - Portugal); Europe's no better. Sovereign countries are being handed over to EC (an abstract entity by the way - that's now been turned into a proto-federal community through the Lisbon Treaty). The Bilderbergers are on to some Eurasia in no time; people are living way worse than a couple of decades ago.

Don't worry man; I get into arguments with my family and they get exasperated, this system is precarious and liable to change and fluctuate. I just try to dodge any contentious topics for the sake of my sanity. They look at me weird when I get dry boxes and closed cell foam and make boxes full of survival gear.

You certainly are not alone in your ostracization and being labeled a nutter, fruitcake or crazy. The masses are awakening to the truth; whether it is willing or unwilling. This trend will continue to grow and gain momentum, whereby more and more crazies will network; eventually becoming the norm. As for those who can not see... I believe it to be more in the lines of willful ignorance rather than lacking intellect; a weakened mental constitution and will to pursue or face the truth.

Yes, political truthers are outcasted by family and friends - just like religious truthers are outcasted by family and friends. When I woke up and realized religion was being used to fool and control me, and stopped letting it continue, my family and friends got quite outraged. How dare I wake up!? I think my wife believes I am obsessed with all the patriot issues right now and with prepping in general. I have tried to educate the extended family and some of my "good friends". I don't think they take it seriously. With that said, I have taken measures to include my mother-in-law, brother and sister-in-law in my food and water cache build up. Yes, it definitely has cost me much more money but there is no way I would turn them away in an emergency. How do you educate others???

@TheMonkeyinspace It's a nightmare honestly. I have MANY relatives that have come right out and said "If there is a collapse, I'm going to "his" house" and point at me. Cognitive dissonance is very normal. Play the videos of John Walker, the AMERICAN COMPTROLLER to your wife. This guy was the accountant for the USA for over a decade & says "we are screwed". He ran the books, he knows his stuff.

I lost my family 4 years ago....it doesn't bother me anymore. They are stuck in that pile of poo and I can't help them. I thank God many times over that my husband stands with me.
