:\ Well this really depends on your interpretation of the poem. You can be stoic and monotonic throughout... if you're using this for a competition or for a public audience, make sure you're using some infliction.... or at least make sure you hold a very very very strong, steady serious voice throughout... otherwise they'll get bored easily.
Abrahim lincon stopped all the blacks from being slaves he was a religious christian and the bible had said all humans should be treated fairly he put his life on stake for the blacks for justice
He didn't necessarily want to free the slaves. He in fact, didn't see the equality between black and white. He himself said "If I can save the Union without freeing the slaves, I would do it. If I can save the Union with freeing some slaves, I would do it. If I could save the Union by freeing all the slaves, I would do it" YOu see, he didn't care how he freed the union. He saw that slavery was wrong however
The three 'ifs' here are meant to be 1: What can I do to undo slavery while as much as possible preserving the Union? The gravity of the preponderance so great, the consequence so unthinkable, Abe was torn between the 2 options. But if there was a guiding light, he found it in the Declaration of Independence. But he must now put in context the meaning of those words: Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness, through and by which Government of, by & for the People shall not perish from this earth.
I have finished reading "The Life of Abraham Lincoln" by Henry Ketcham, and this was the first real poem I was taught in school, and the only piece that brings forth true emotional response in physical form.
oh tyrant, oh tyrant.. may the blood of all tyrants join yours in the fertilizing of american soil
