im just got back from a p&o cruise ship last night and sailing home o our last day we were hit with a force 10 storm and it was a very scary experence with the ship tilted to one side and waves smashing into the ship it has put me of cruising
The ship was originally called "Sagajford" and was built in 1965 for Norwegian Ameria Line and transatlantic voyages. She sailed through far bigger waves than this on the North Atlantic many times.
Great footage. Good thing the Saga Roses bridge is up high and further aft than some ships. Wonder how the Grand Voyager would have gone if this wave hit her as bridge is so far forward and down very low.Flooded wheelhouse for sure. Stupid design.

@detroitPOWER Saga Rose also know as Gripsholm and as original build fore Norwegian America Line ms Sagafjord 1965. There are more video's on youtube.
BTW she was fore a time owned by Cunard after they took over Norwegian America Line.
Both zodiak boats brok loose, 1 went through a porthole into a pax cabin. The other is the one you see under the bridge. about a dozen flooded cabins in the front of the ship. Crew pursers office had some water damage. The wave dented the bow and broke off the bulwark on the starboard side where it connects to the superstructure. Also broke a few windows. not bad really.
Wasn't driving the boat and we weren't going much over steerage speed as it was.

It is a English cruise ship called the Saga Rose, no other vids. This happened right before I finished my contract.
