@Amiduffer Naw, SP sold Taylor Yard to Metrolink in 1991. For years SP was moving operations to West Colton.

SP officially went out of existance in 1988.

Except for watching this in the morning I can almost feel my bed and smell the coal smoke as I fell asleep, in Houston, when I was a baby and toddler. I miss it--The Southern Pacific Railroad.

Thanks Frank. The yard had a long and useful life at least. Operations were just shifted to other parts of the city. I assume that there's honey in the speaker, however, the bees didn't want to share with me.
