  • yours come with that red elbow or you purchase it seperate? mine came with a shitty lookin black one

  • I hate when i can never see how many thumbs up are on the second top comment... :/

  • You converted your functional factory cold air intake into a larger hot air intake, schweet! Now add non-functional skewpz, plasti-dip and throttle body spacers to achieve maxium horse powerz!

  • WHER CAN I GET ONE OF THOS

  • @TheMaryjaneist i got mine on ebay for $75

  • that sounds beast

  • cold air intakes dont do shit when the "cold air" you are sucking in is the hot air in your engine bay! run the pipe down and forward as close to the grill as you can. actual cold air will definitely give you some more power. switching from stock air to an aftermarket cold air just lets it breathe a little better but its still the same hot ass air the stock one was sucking up! its common sense people

  • @ryanrthrockmorton that all u have to do is wrap it

you can get it for jegs for 50 dollars and still total up for 120 dollars with the cold air and wrap

and from without the wrap you get 12 HP and with the wrap you get

maybe about 18 -20Hp from minimizing the heat

    STUPID ASS DUMMY

  • @bigdoo350 Or, you steal a street sign ($0), use it to make a box for the filter (for example, if the filter is in the corner, box off the corner) buy 2 feet of vacuum line ($5), split the vacuum line to use as the seal against the hood at the top of the box, and you're done.

Every filter wrap I've seen is hydrophobic to keep WATER out, not heat, so I don't know what you think you're talking about, but I've never heard of it.

  • @bigdoo350 wrap it? wrapping the pipe in heat tape to keep it from warming (which kind of works) probably won't make much of a difference in this application.

i can't decipher exactly what you are trying to say with your absolute butchering of sentence structure so please save the, 'stupid ass dummy,' comment for someone who earns it . like yourself. kthxbye

oh. i agree with @NotYour94Ranger about the air-box. as long as its sealed properly. not nigger rigging it using split vacuum line.

  • @ryanrthrockmorton A box would fix that, and most half-decent systems have one.

  • spectre, KN, Airid, and any other aftermarket filter you buy is exactly the same. they make three filters... Paper, Cotton, Stainless Steel... cotton lets more air pass through then paper, done... Second, a light oiling on the cotton filters is to trap dirt , you clean spectre KN and others exactly te same. You can run dry if u want or oil. If you running dirt roads, oil is better. or skirting it is best. "cold air intakes" work better. Colder air=denser= more air into the chamber then hot air.

  • did it add power????

  • does it all fit under the stock hood? im thinking about building my own

  • I have a intake kit like this...it's from Truck-Tek. Funny thing is. You can seriously tell it's a straight up ripoff of a Spectre intake kit. Same red filter, same piping, same maf location, same everything....and it only costed me 70 dollars off of summitracing. I am getting a K&N filter though cause I just don't like the one they give you.

  • @toyoracing89 that all u have to do is wrap it

you can get it for jegs for 50 dollars and still total up for 120 dollars with the cold air and wrap

and from without the wrap you get 12 HP and with the wrap you get

  • i have an air intake exaclty the same on my silverado bt am taking it off cuz the metal air tube gets higher temp than stock, these do gt better air flow, bt hot air,the metal heat up,the heat shield is nt good enough, banks gets cold dense air wich is a true cold air inatake, so am buying a banks ram air!, check it out

  • nothing wrong with the spectre there basically the same as other systems with metal piping, The only thing is the filter being a oil type filter like k&n is not the best, can foul the maf sensor out. Put a AEM dry flow filter on there and you'll be good to go

  • @07kawa650i : Oiled filters do not foul the MAF, and "DRY" filters offer horrible airflow and can never be restored to full effiency, like a oil based filter.. The Oil based filter offers better performance for s street driven performance vehicle.

  • @scsamark

Yeah ok you apparently dont know anything about filters, if someone over oils the filter it causes a thick build up of oil which will be sucked into intake and on to the maf sensor making it miss read (foul), Yes if oiled right you'll never have a problem but most people (including myself) have a tendency to think more oil is better than too little, thats where it all comes in to play. And most oil type filters flow alittle more because of LESS filtration, it allows finer particles

  • through where the dry flow will catch. The filter are cleaned the same way with water and soap, also. Only the dry filter doesnt have oil holding the dirt in it keeping it from getting clean as new or back to full efficiency. So yeah ill just stick with the dry filters!!!

  • @07kawa650i Dry flow filters do not catch finer particles and the airflow is no better than paper. The Airaid filters down to 2 microns, and will offer better filtration than a Dry filter when its dirty as well. You have no clue what you are talking about, which is why you Over oil filters and run a dry filter when its no better than a paper filter when it comes to performance. Oiled filters are not only cleaned with soap and water, another example of your lack of knowledge.

  • @scsamark Yeah your right, your the Airaid master, i'll let you have your way. I'm just another one of those dumb ass internet people that doesnt know anything. Sorry i just like to blow smoke out my ass...Haha... internet fighting is fun!!!

  • @07kawa650i : I never claimed to be a master, I just understand the facts, and you are spewing non sense. THERE is a difference in the quality of filters, they are not all build the same....Good day and good luck with your choices.

  • its never been proven that the oil harms the sensor, its a MYTH from the dealerships. On top of that, you are grouping all oiled filters as a whole, which shows you have no clue what you are talking about. The Airaid filter has 4 layers of cotton gauze and incorporates a 5th layer of synthetic material, that will not allow the oil to penetrate through the filter, so even if it is over oiled the oil will come even come close to the sensors.

  • @07kawa650i Im confused, how can you state this?? I understood that K&N filters flowed BETTER than other regular paper and other filters!!???

  • @07kawa650i its proven that K&N filter oil doesnt effect your MAF sensor.

  • @07kawa650i my maf is on the intake manifold, how would it foul it out ?

  • can you hear you intake whistle or whine inside your cab with the window up?

  • wow i love the look but i wanna really hear it rip. who ever was in the driver seat didnt get on it very good.

  • where is his maf hes losing power without itif it was on he would get better gas mileage but not much power if any only a cold air or air raid would help build your own out of sheet metal its not that hard and your using budget parts anyways and no spectre is not the best k&n is

  • maf is right next to the filter, look closer.

  • hey faggot spectre is the best out there on the market

  • intakes should be put on a truck lol

  • 12HP, and ZERO Filtration. I love uneducated noobs who know nothing, yet think they are experts.

You put a filter on your truck which is 1000 times worse than the stock paper filter.......

  • @scsamark Wait...did you seriously just say that a aftermarket filter is worse than a factory filter? That my friend is what they call EPIC FAIL. Factory car makers design everyhing around the engine to sound proof it...so to speak. The could care less about power gains between a plastic tube the size of a straw and a metal one thats as large as most manhole covers.

  • @toyoracing89

What in the hell are you even talking about? A OEM paper filter will offer much better filtration than a aftermarket "Spectre" brand filter. You can take your "Epic fail" and shove it up your ass. Do some research before you speak next time.. There are different grades of paper filter, just like different grades of aftermarket. do some research, you make Zero sense.

  • @scsamark Apparently you don't know much about performance, which is why 90% of AM make the intake and exhaust be the first one to go. And you apparently must be an idiot that thinks spending $90 on a filter is better than 20 or 40. I guess it's people like you that keep big name companies afloat because you don't know any better.

  • @toyoracing89

I know allot about performance. Of course a higher flowing less restrictive good airfilter like a "Airaid" will flow more air and offer good filtration and make more power. What I was stating is that the "spectre" brand is very cheap and the filter offers horrible filtration, so you are hurting the engine by running such a shitty filter, and YES a OEM paper filter offers much better filtration than a "Spectre" filter. Airflow is a totally different story.

  • @scsamark Well, I'm not straight up calling you out on what you're saying. But I am disagreeing with you. Because I think Spectre is just as good of a brand as any other. I've ran both K&N on previous vehicles, as well as Spectre. And I don't notice any difference...the customer service is just as good, and the product is too. I even have performance shops local to me that suggest Spectre, which goes to prove itsself.

  • @toyoracing89 : Spectre is a bottom end filter. the one you bought from summit is the spectre system for $70.00. it is private labeled for them. I am sure when building a race car w/ 1500HP that they want the most amount of airflow and filtration is not a priority, i get that, but on a street driven vehicle Specrte and K&N have both been proven to offer horrible filtration. Google "K&N Filtration". Neither is the quality of the AIRAID filter. Spectre is cheap garbage, do some research.

  • @scsamark And these shops routinely build 500-1500HP vehicles.

  • @scsamark did you wrapped the tube

  • hey that spectre system was a cheap 12 hp for me

  • More hot air in to the engine = LESS POWER! No air filtration = knackered engine very soon.

don't be fooled by adverts, these devices do nothing for performance.

  • fail

  • did you take the maf sensor out

  • nice where did u get, and how much did it cost?

  • Dude...sweet intake...where did you come up on that? My chick needs one for her Tahoe!
