I'm in the Pottsville Area high School marching band, our team name is the Crimson Tide. We do script tide to March Grandioso, its a blast. When it is announced, we always give credit to Ohio for the tradition.
As an Ohio State Graduate, the Ohio State Marching Band brings back the GREATEST happy moments of my stay there. To all the current students, enjoy the lazy walks on the Oval and along Mirror Lake, life moves along eventually, but you'll always be a member of the Buckeye Nation! =)
Heel-toe is a more modern step used for corp-style bands. Most highschool bands and some universities use the heel-toe roll step, but the one seen here, called the 8 to 5 chair step, has been used since the OSUMB was formed, and the band has done an excellent job of preserving such traditions through the years. Sometimes the band will switch to a semi-roll "stride" step when marching an 6 to 5 size step to prevent a wobbly sound.
TBDBITL is just ONE of the MANY reasons why Saturdays in Columbus are SPECIAL. To All the Bandsmen/women THANK YOU for the INCREDIBLE JOB you do, the hard work that shows and being in A CLASS all by Yourself. And for years I thought I went to Games to see The TEAM....it's actually a lot of BOTH. Go Bucks!

Go Bucks! Wish I were in Columbus right now, enjoying the flaming couches, fire trucks, beer bottle throwers and late papers!
