  • XD the old lady was so funny

  • you are a puppeteer?

  • amazing hey were did you get those puppets

  • outstanding work...

  • @voltron63 : Thank you!

  • "Scruffy" sounds awfully close to Fozzie Bear. A little vocal manipulation and you could easily puppeteer Fozzie, voice and all.

  • gee this is great! im 16 & from Australia and really want to puppeteer for Sesame Street. I've filmed myself puppeteering a couple of times, but i can't get rid of a lean to the right (left on camera) in my puppet! any ideas? cheers :)

  • oh dear god this is genius, i'm only 1:38 in and I can't stop laughing, you are brilliant and if you were one of the Henson puppeteers I would definitely watch whatever you worked on.

  • Check out my videos! theraggmopps

  • Wow! Congrats! Did you make this puppet? It is SO AMAZINGLY COOL that Kevin called you and you get to work with them.

  • EDNA!!!

  • This is great!! XD my favorite is the old lady!

  • love it :D

  • 1:09 to 1:35 ROFL!!!!!!!

  • My friend and i do a puppet show, we dont have any videos of it yet though, but we will, your pretty much an inspiration to us, funny video and great idea!! :D

  • Hi Paul :)

I read the description and I must admit it made me weary. I was never intending to "follow my dreams" until resently. But reading that put me back a bit. In your pro opinion, how likley is it to ever make a living in the entertainment industry (puppetry, animation, art, that sort)

I'm 16 and dont have all that much desicion time :(

    Thank you!

  • skillz, heh good stuff.

  • ROFL, ROFL!

  • Touching story, and great puppets!

I'd love to work for Henson Studios too, but I'm an Illustrator mainly, so I'd probably be in concept development.

  • haha the dog sounded like Ray Romano-- you should create a story around the characters... it would be original on here.

  • very funny vid 5 star

  • Old lady had a coniption.

Man, this reminds me of when I was little. I used to watch the muppets all the time; they were like my whole life.

  • I remember seeing this video months ago! I just recently viewed all of your how to videos with regards to building your own puppets and puppeteering in general. You along with my undying love for Jim and his Muppet masterpieces, have motivated me to start creating my own characters and best of all, bring them to life! Thank you for posting this and all the hard work you've done to help make others dreams come true. My hat's off to you sir.

  • good video... i wonder, reading your story, if it would have been better to not recieve the call or the letter rather then get so far and fall flat, essentially.

As someone growing up in the area (north jersey) and growing up with the sole dream of working for HA! i can imagine the heartache of basically being teased

  • wizard of ozrock

  • Awesome puppets and puppeteering! Loved your story- it's a bummer that you didn't get to work with Jim. You were way good enough- that is for sure.

  • Excellent work.. especially loved the sequence with the cute kid, (impromptu?) cause it worked well. Can definately see you as an addition to Hensons dream.. *Seasame Street GRAB this guy!* 5 stars

  • Thank you for your nice words.

  • Excellent audition, wonderful story. I really do hope you can fulfill your dream as I get the feeling that muppets will be coming back in force in the coming years and I'm sure they can use all the great talent that they can get. Keep believing. :)

  • View 46,000!

This is still genius, and I've watched it so many times.

  • Wow! I'm flattered! Thank you!

  • Dear Paul,

myself and my partner write kids stories ourselves, and have been influenced very much by Jim Henson, we have just watched your piece on here, and think it's really well done, cant believe your story, your very talented, shame you sont live closer mate, we have just started our own production company. brightest blessings Lors & Paul (scotland)

  • That was great!

  • lol oh, i wish u didnt make ur info thing so long, i want to read it but im too lazy lol i loved the black guy when he auditioned for the scarecrow lol and bonheimian bob lol

  • Very nice.

The Grandma at the begining had me ROFL!

    Great job!

  • The puppets remind me of Nick Aardman characters...

My friend showed me this at her house and we lol'ed!!! This is awesome!!

  • Cool! Thank you, ..to you, AND your friend! ...Pauly

  • My son, Cameron, met Kevin Clash just two days ago at a filming he was directing on the Sesame Street set. Also there was Carol Spinney, the guy that does Tully, and Allen the grocier (hope that's info is right). All of them were just absolutly wonderful to Cameron and we have some great pictures of that day. My son, is an aspiring puppeteer, so this was huge for him. Not very many get to go inside to view a taping, so he was very, very blessed...

Your work is great! Keep it up!!!

  • The guy who does Telly is Marty Robinson. BTW Your son is REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY (a thousand times more) REALLY lucky to have gone to the set! I mean, I have a letter from Carol Spinney, but to meet him?! Awesome!

  • I have posted the pictures of Cameron's day on Sesame Street. Go to my website, StainedGlass1 dot com, and click on "Cameron goes to Sesame Street".

It was awesome! You just can't get into that place. You have to know someone. My brother-in-law did. My son will never forget it.

Thanks for the comment. I'll share it with Cameron.

  • Just saw the pics, and can I say AWESOME!!! I wish I met them! But, if everything goes according to plan, I will when I grow up!

  • I think that you're extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY lucky to have met Jim Henson! If only he lived longer! But anyway, I'm an aspiring puppeteer, (maybe one day Muppeteer), and do you have any advice for me?

P.S. I used your guide on expert village, and have your Melvin puppet that I got off of eBay!

  • Hahaha this is great!!

  • Man... You're good. My 5 year old son and I were watching it and we both were cracking up. Edna and Curtis... The outburst were awesome. And the slightly gay guy Terry that gave a tribute to Stephanie Mills... funny. Bob was so cool too. Keep doing your thing. contact Kevin again. Peace

  • Hey, thank you, BIGWO! Gald you liked it, and I appeciate the support. Your 5 year old sounds like he has a great sense of humor. :)

  • Wow.. those are sell designed puppets.. is there a reason they all have square jaws?

  • no. no reason. it's just how i built them at the time.

  • COOL

  • I vote Scruffy and Edna!!!!!

They would be fun to watch!!!!

    Awsome!!! Toodles :-)

  • Truly wonderful!!!

  • your a sick kid you know that

  • omg, i luv it!

  • i want to work for either the muppets or avenue Q

  • I'm no expert, but seems like muppet quality to me.

  • I'm an aspiring puppeteer and someday I hope to be as good as you! :)

  • hahaha xD

  • Fantastic! :O)

  • Wow...just wow. You are a real talent and you should be working for Jim Henson Productions. They could use another great puppet master.

  • you have a great character voice. incredible control and very conscious of the puppets body language... i am impressed. Growing up I had a very similar dream to be a muppeteer. I really hope your dream becomes a reality!

  • Thank you. Very kind of you :)

  • That was great!

  • very impressive Paul. I wouldnt get too flustered or 'angry' over the whole thing.. The good news is you've made a great first impression with these guys. Be patient and keep building on that. If you get angry or snippy, although you have every right to be,, but if you go sour, so may this opportunity. You've got great talent man. And thats only gonna improve over time. They know that. Just politely stay on their radar and you'll get that call. Congrats!!

  • Thank you. I'm cool, believe me. Take care. :)

  • ^_^ I agree with ekuska there. It's a great hope, don't lose it and don't let yourself grow bitter and destroy the love and humor that would pull you into such a wonderful job.

  • you're awesome!

why don't you just go to they're office with the letter you got back stating all the things?

and i didn't see any new muppets yet, frank oz quit so maybe they would love to give you stuff but jst didn't get the chance!

don't get bitter, just wait or stuff!

and go along with what you got now it's all awesome!!

  • wow. i really mean wow. ur awesome! u make all the puppets? and do their voices? WOW! i luv it! this should show jim henson what he missed out on!

  • u shud be sooo happy with this is is truley amazing good job babe xxx

  • awesome job man

  • lol they're all fools not to hire you

awesome vid man, the first time i watched this i couldnt breathe, lol cause i was laughing so hard.

    keep up the good work

  • Thank you very much! Very nice of you to say. :)

  • Wicked performance, had me in stitches it was hilarious! You're a complete natural well done, im guessing u like Avenue Q?

  • Oh my God you're a great genius!!!!

AHAHAHAHAHAH I totally love your puppets, they're amazing!!!

    Greatings from Milan =)

  • That's very good. I'm getting very good at doing various muppet voices, but my best would probably be either Kermit of Ernie. If I get a chance to commet again, I'd like to ask you something. Keeeeee!!!! That was Ernie's laugh.

  • Well, why would he need Muppets (which we all know is the truch, he is Muppet material) when he has his own thing going on? I'd rather see Little Nice Mice over a Muppet Play-Along Tape anyday!

  • Wow! Thank you. Very kind of you to say! :)

  • Wow! amazing stuff :) You have that "muppet" touch if you know what I mean.

  • You got talent dude. Now, in my opinion(and this i mean this is a good way) though your style fits the muppets, it has a very different feel. You should look into making/starting your own show, maybe start on tv with talent shows, and go from them. But great work, you have a great talent for puppets!

  • Ahahaha, nice one brotha!

  • lol

  • Thats really good!!!

  • Dude, you're awesome!!!!!! I loved the part about Edna, made laugh a lot! You would be perfect as a Mupeteer!

  • Paul! You are the best!

  • LOL! No problem. Glad it helped :)

  • Yeah! Me, too! Reccomend me, too! Oh, and thank you for the tutorial videos; the tutorial helped me out with my puppet dancing!

  • Mr. Clash, please call this person!!!! He is Muppet worthy. Elmo needs Grandma Edna.-- Um, Geezer, be patient, Kevin Clash is a nice guy and when the time is right, it'll be right. God bless and thanks for the smile!

  • call me

  • I would love to work with you on a polit to shop

  • I see now. Well, I suppose almost 20,000 views later, Kevin Clash may recommend you, huh? (Laugh.)

  • really good! My fav was bohemian bob. hehehe he wasn't down with that! hahahahah

  • Great Puppeteering! It amazes me how some (like you) can emote with puppets! Well done!

  • No, I'm not mad at the Henson Company at all.

  • You story, other than being really mad at the henson company (haha), sounds just like me. I just made my first puppet/muppet and I'm totally excited about doing this the rest of my life... I just have to find a way to make money doing it. haha.

    - db

  • Good video! I died over Edna and Kerry! Hey, what do you mean by paging Kevin Clash?

  • Thanks. Well, read the video description and you'll see what I mean. Thanks again for your compliments.

  • props to you. lol that was fun to watch

  • Wow...you're awesome. I'm a puppeteer too and I totally see and appreciate your talent. 4 years is a long time to wait for that call. Maybe the universe is telling your there's a better path for you. Honestly, you're good enough to stand alone. Muck the Fuppets!

  • the dog was hysterical I agee muck the fuppets!

  • I suppose you can change it now; it's now over 15,000 viewers. (Don't want to say it, still wanting to auditon, but "See, KEVIN!?")

  • lol

  • Thank u, all!

  • You're really good. & With you doing the voices for the puppets as well, you're actually a realy good singer as well.

  • Very classy.

  • Certainly has an essence of Jim Henson's Muppets, but with a class of its own. Excellent stuff.

  • thank you

  • wow waz dat u damn u got skillz dat waz mad good

  • This is fantastic - you certainly have a lot of talent. Have you sent in anymore audition tapes to the Jim Henson company? Four years is a lot of time, and if you we're this good back then, I can only imagine how mind blowingly amazing you must be today - If you haven't, I'd send in another tape, maybe something a little more Sesame Oriented. Bohemian Bob feels like he's been hanging out with the muppets since their inception, so you're on the right track.

  • Thanks, Luke. Very kind of you to say :).

  • I honestly think you would make a top-quality Muppet performer. I'm trying to audition, too.

  • Thank you very much. Very kind of you to say. Please tell your thoughts to Kevin Clash. Still waiting for his come to work call after four years. :(

  • haha cute! Bohemian Bob is awesome!

  • Fantastic! You know, you should try looking around and seeing if you could start a TV show with these puppets - if Edna became a character I'll watch every episode!

  • You're good! Maybe you should try out for Avenue Q instead.

  • WOOOH!

  • WOW! You have a way with puppets! You could get hired as a puppeteer any day of the week! even Tuesday! Anyway, that was awesome!

  • Amazing ! You are talented !

I NEED that Old Lady !

  • That was genius

  • I liked the old lady part "I'll body slam you!" lol

  • That was so much fun! I just loved Curtis! Would love to see more puppet adventures!

  • Awesome! Fave to my puppet list. :)

  • I hope you get that call! Nice video

  • Woooow, your puppets are awesome, I love them especially the old woman hehe. And the voice acting is great too. You have a lot of skill! :)

  • Thank you very, very much. Very kind of you :)

  • omg thatz funny! 5 stars!

  • Wow, that was fantastic. I sent it to my friend who is on her way to the Muppet workshop in New york. She's been a puppeteer at Disney for years! Keep up the good work!

  • Alli can say is WOW! They were great puppets. Can't believe you made them yourself. Great script too. Even better singing voice!

    CC

  • Wow! Thank you!

  • As a fellow puppetier I have to say "VERY NICE!" Dude, that was truely remarkable work, especially with the editing. Sorry to hear that Kevin Clash hasn't givin you that job yet, but I wouldn't expect to much from the puppetier of the Red Abomination.

  • I have a question for you (Mr. Geezer I will call you) I have always wanted to know what materials to get to build the Muppet style of puppet. I would like to build my own, I just have no idea how to begin. I thank you in advance.

  • Antron Fleece, Anti-Pill Fleece, and craft fur. Hope that helps. Hey, all, thanks for all the fantastic compliments. Makes me feel warm all over :). Really,... thank you!

  • Fantastic!

  • Great clean work! (Believe it or not we share the same dream.)

Wishing you GOOD LUCK from one puppeteer to another!

  • I share that same dream, little bit of a small world huh?

Well I wish you both the best of luck as well.

  • They'd be nuts not to hire you on, unless you're a mass murderer, or something. Very funny stuff. The guy auditioning for Dorothy coulda been seen as homophobic though.

Whatever. I gave you 5 stars.

  • You mean a homosexual, not a homophobic.

  • No - he meant homophobic. The character was stereotypically homosexual.

  • I so enjoyed watching this! Please don't let up on the Sesame people. You deserve to be a muppeteer!

  • The Sesame Street characters ARE Muppets

  • Yeah, I know. Not sure what you thought I meant, but what I meant was--don't let up on the Sesame people because you deserve to be a Sesame muppeteer or any other kind of muppeteer (other characters not on Sesame). I have watched many a muppet. Anyway, it was meant to be a compliment.

  • Oh my god, you are fantastic. I love the whole skit

  • Very funny, that was a cute video

  • now that rocked! haha. tht was aweseom. enjoyed it lots. laughed hard too!

  • Awesome! Good luck getting that puppeteer job.

  • Hey, that's really good!

  • I swear. I loveeeeee your characters!! They're so funny.

  • 7 YEAR OLD RULES.
