Multiplication by 9 is so easy on your head that doing it with your hands is completely useless. I thought you were going to teach how to do 679x953 using hands similar to a soroban.

the fastest way to multiply by 9 is to multiply by 10 and than substract the other number.. example 9x9= 10x9-9=81.....or 9x5= 10x5-5=45
