Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one but I bought the Camaro because I liked it better than the Mustang or Challenger. I bet most of the people who bash the Camaro, Mustang, or Challenger have never even drove one and if you buy a car just 'cause it looks good then you didn't do your homework. All I can say is I no longer miss my '66 Goat or 70 Camaro. As far as speed goes, it does have a limiter on it but who wants to go 165 anyway? Not me.

hey dude, your right. the SS was always Camaro's factory drag car. The Z/28 was the racing car. Z's had less hp, but had better handling and suspensions than the SS's. The lines kinda blurred after the fuel crisis and even when both nameplates came back in the 4th gens, there were only 15 hp diff between them. If they do bring the Z28 back, it'll break that tradition, but they need something to fight the Gt500

Interesting and appealing car for a muscle fan such as myself, but imho this Camaro simply cannot compete with the glamour of the Challenger, the Charger or a Mustang. GM needs to work on that.
All they had to do is re-create the 69 Camaro and GM would not be headed for Bankruptcy. They couldn't produce them fast enough. yeah the v6 2lt camaro is spittin out 304 horses while the v8 mustang gt give u 315...the v8 Camaro gives you 400 so overall camaro is better and the fuel economy is wayyyyyyy better
Thats till ford release the 3.5 eccoboost twinturbo v6 putting out more the 350 horses for the stang and still have great mileage and whatever new v8 engine either 5.0 or 6.2 or the gt's
The v6 camaro is only about 40 horsepower short of the new GT. So I could take all the money Im saving on the camaro and buy a supercharger for it so when people like you pull up next to me their in for the surprise of their life. cheaper insurence, better MPG, better looks, and is WAY cheaper then a GT. camaro wins hands down. And dont even get me started on the SS smoking shelbys.
But most people who would race a gt have probably done stuff to it like my 06 its running 12.9s right now a full second off of what it ran stock and at the end of the day a V8 sounds better and is alot cheaper to upgrade than a V6 or I4 and the torque difference stock for stock is a stat you forgot to look at. Like carrol shelby said horsepower sells cars torque wins races.

v6: 6 speed manual or auto. Many different styles and choices of packages. 17/29mpg. 304hp. Top speed of just over 145mph.
v8: 6 speed manual or auto also, styles and packages. and thats about 16/24mpg. 426hp and top speed of 165ish.

hey dude, your right. the SS was always Camaro's factory drag car. The Z/28 was the racing car. Z's had less hp, but had better handling and suspensions than the SS's. The lines kinda blurred after the fuel crisis and even when both nameplates came back in the 4th gens, there were only 15 hp diff between them. If they do bring the Z28 back, it'll break that tradition, but they need something to fight the Gt500

If Dodge could do this with the Challenger,Ford could do this with the Mustang,and GM could do this to the Camaro,why doesn't Dodge recreate a better version of the Charger. The Charger came first but Challenger got the GOOD restoration first. At least Ford and GM have other vehicles aside from the Mustang and Camaro that were classics-take a look at the Vette and the F-150!

camera? last i checked that kinda thing took pictures. a Camaro is something that's driven. and doesn't matter too much. the V6 Camaro is only a little bit less horsepower than the Mustang GT, but lighter. Which in my thought would be a close race depending on how good the driver of either car is.

The v6 camaro is only about 40 horsepower short of the new GT. So I could take all the money Im saving on the camaro and buy a supercharger for it so when people like you pull up next to me their in for the surprise of their life. cheaper insurence, better MPG, better looks, and is WAY cheaper then a GT. camaro wins hands down. And dont even get me started on the SS smoking shelbys.

But most people who would race a gt have probably done stuff to it like my 06 its running 12.9s right now a full second off of what it ran stock and at the end of the day a V8 sounds better and is alot cheaper to upgrade than a V6 or I4 and the torque difference stock for stock is a stat you forgot to look at. Like carrol shelby said horsepower sells cars torque wins races.
