I think they should have kept the law without the age limit. If parents are so irresponsible that they would give up their 8-year-old or 10-year-old, than they are unfit heartless parents and shouldn't have to keep them. And some parents who are mentally incapable of parenting shouldn't have to keep kids, which would be unfair to the kids and parents. I feel sorry for the kids who were dropped off as kids/teens and not babies, but imagine how worse it would've been if they still lived w/ them.
i watched a special on this and its not for dropping off "mistakes" but kids who r out of control and their moms cant take care of them. most were bi-polar or watever the hell that means
I think a lot of HUMANS should have a mandatory sterilization because they are not worthy of being parents. Especially after dumping their 8 year old--my God we live in a sick world.
People would drive from all over the state and dump their 8 year old (or older) and say they don't want to deal with thier kid anymore while the child grabs the parent(s) feet and begs them to please don't go and they will be good. These parents need to be charged with child abuse. I think a lot of people should be sterilized--it takes more than getting fucking and getting pregnant to be a parent-even a fucking cockroach can do that.
As someone who lives in Nebraska and has also taken in over 40 foster children into my home, I can't help but take offense to your all-or-nothing ignorance. People are disgusting creatures who abandon their own offspring, but don't make it sound like it only happens here. Perhaps if you were more actively involved in helping the cause, rather than throwing blanket insults, you'd know that.
