  • Review Forever Not Yet by Orthodox.

  • I was shocked out of my mind when you mentioned Attila. And then I realized you weren't referencing the band who wrote Rage and Outlawed.

  • this album is sick. my $0.02

  • I just got back from my local music store where I picked up this gem before I watched this video. You hit the nail on the head, this album rules.

  • "Metal doesn't make people happy".....Maybe rap doesn't make people happy or Jazz.Must I go on. Myself I listen to metal mainly but I'm open to other kinds of music. I'm not going to discredit something because I don't like that kind of music. To BlackMetalWorld , I agree with you 100%.

  • Should give this album a review or at least a listen

Impetuous Ritual - Relentless Execution of Ceremonial Excrescence

Tops the Disma album as far as atmosphere, riffs and ideas. It's pretty much a perfect Death Metal album...

  • @bherstuk sounds NOTHING like Disma. NOT EVEN IN THE SAME CALIBER

  • @bherstuk Impetuous are one of my favorite bands. Any band in this realm of Death Metal is great.

  • Theneedledrop, I listened to your album review on Disma's Towards the Megalith. Yes some of what you said I do agree with. I'm an ELITE UNDERGROUND METAL HEAD both Anti-Christian Death/Black Death/Black Metal, Cannibal Corpse is death metal I just can't really do at all anymore. I think Disma their sound is NICE has that good old school haunted/EVIL feel like Old IMMOLATION, Old INCANTATION, Older MORBID ANGEL etc But not many can bring that sound and feel back...I do like that sound! \m/

  • Great Review

  • what about the absolutely racist, Hitler-sympathying lead vocalist?

  • I enjoy your reviews....

  • Just bought it yesterday. Fucking brilliant.

  • i agree about vocals and everything. this album is a great death metal album

  • dude...just shut the fuck up. stop taking like you have a PHD in music you hipster piece of shit

  • @helloasswipes Watch out, we got a badass over here

  • @CornadaTV lulz like im kid rock or something. AMERICAN WIGGER BADDASS DOOD! LULZ

  • @helloasswipes HBUSTFU Y U MAD BRO

  • @VatsABingo I'm not even mad yo! Lulz

  • @helloasswipes The guy's not a hipster. He doesn't have a messy shag and he's not wearing a knit hat that's sitting way to far back on his head. He isn't wearing a trendy thrift store getup or a shirt with an "ironic" saying. And he isn't "ironically" homosexual. Hipsters don't listen to death metal, and if they they do they never admit it. He's a nerd, that's all. A nerd with a broad taste in music. I'm guessing you've never seen a real hipster.

  • This album takes what Onward to Golgotha did, and adds upon it. Punk beats, finnish DM elements and Pillard sounding the best he ever has. Awesome album.

  • Please keep doing metal reviews!

  • awesome review man, definitely agree on every account. subscribing! also, you should review the Caretaker - An Empty Bliss Beyond this World, or perhaps the new Haunted album if you want a metal album you can shit all over hahaha.

  • great review. if you read this, i want you to know, i too enjoy this album

  • really good review

  • @TheMusicfanatic001 That's a good album, what about Death Transmutation by Ignivomous.

  • Hm? You didn't like Macabre Eternal? Madness, that album is every bit as good as Towards The Megalith.

  • really you didn't like the new autopsy album?...way better then the morbid angel album either way

  • @Gwotch: agreed

  • DO MORE METAL REVIEWS!!!!!!!!!!

  • This album makes me want to curl up in a dark corner and contemplate the stone with fungal growth known as human life that we live on as philosophical blood oozes from the sacrificial stab wounds in the goat I stole. (in a good way)(joking, except for the corner part)

  • @TehSkullKrusher You play Zerg?

  • Thanks for the review!

  • Ok, I'm with you (as is the entire metal community) on Morbid Angel's newest, but Autopsy's album was fucking great! Granted the vocals were a little... iffy in places, but they were never exactly a band who were obsessed with perfection in the first place! :P

  • metal reviez yeah !!

  • ah, a purist. you would HATE periphery

  • Request: Review some true Gore/Sewage audio harness, in particular, the following two examples, make DISMA & old INCANTATION sound like Harpsichord variations : type in a youtube search: "Urinary Tract Infection From Severe Puss Clots" & also search for "Biocyst", {UxTxIxFxSxPxCx is from Arkansas & Biocyst is from the drummer of LastDaysOfHumanity (Holland), I participated on a 4-way split cassette with those two ....try thinking Disma is "gore/horror" after hearing the aforementioned.

  • ...also, those not in the know, Craig Pillard {Disma, ex-Incantation} has an audio project {National Socialist based} entitled STURM FUHRER {not "racist", just purely anti-religious}, the Canadian Band : BLASPHEMY {which has a Black Man as a band member} has been associated with Satanic Skinhead Propaganda {in which Craig Pillard has released several STURM FUHRER tracks}. it's anti-religious & also very anti-semitic. - cheers!

  • @CausticMunidottir Craig was also in another band: Disciples Of Mockery. They only released one LP. 1999's Prelude To Apocalypse.

  • @mkmoloch ... least we forget: "Methodrone" & "Womb", other audio projects of Craig P. //// also, on the subject of modern "goregrind" {hence horror, monsters, etc.} most goregrind sound the same, except for a few few, i.e.: "Urinary Tract Infection From Severe Puss Clots" {featuring Bobby Maggard of Arkansas, u.s.a.} takes audio brutality to extremes never heard befoe...

  • @mkmoloch also, Disciples of Mockery {also had a split CD with "Womb"}, also, "prelude to apocalypse" was first released in 1999 on CD with a red-colored jewel case {then re-released a few years after on NECROHARMONIC productions} {"Sleazy" Roy, of Necroharmonic Prod. is also the person responsible for getting Will Rahmer {now of MORTICIAN} to be the 1st vocalist for INCANTATION {before "Onward to Golgotha" was released},

  • @mkmoloch Roy owner of NECROHARMONIC Prod. also supplied the vid. footage for the DVD included w/ the re-release/remastered version of INCANTATION "Onward to Golgotha" {Roy told me that RELAPSE Records didn't even give him credit for shooting those old early 90's live vids. they used on the INCANTATION dvd {not even a "free copy" of the re-issue, with his vid. material!!! Typical "Relapse Rec."} / {{btw, the re-release of Disciples of Mockery CD on NECROHARMONIC featured "demo" bonus

  • OH NO GOD FORBID YOU GIVE A METAL ALBUM A 9 WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU THIS ISN'T EVEN MUSIC IT'S JUST NOISE I'M GONNA GO BACK TO MY ROOM AND LISTEN TO WASHED OUT UNTIL THE NIGHTMARES GO AWAY

  • I just got my copy in the mail. Craig Pillard's growls are always so amazing.

  • I love you, bro.

  • ANTHONY I LOVE THIS REVIEW THANK YOU

  • If you don't want to call them cookie monster vocals, you could always call them death growls. Thats what I do.

  • Introduce me to a killer new album, and then bring back that OFF! album. Anthony, you charmer, you.

  • Everyone has their preferences but i like it when you review a good metal album.

  • FUCKING METAL!!! Who the FUCK doesn't like Metal. Im only joking i know everyone has there own preferences but that doesn't mean you have to hate on Metal. Plus at least most metal bands actually have talent unlike half the shit thats around today including Rap. Music Industry has been put to shit and the fact "artists" like Dev are being signed just makes me ask ....why? She literally just talks kind of seductively over a track.

  • This album is so brutal. <3

  • You hit on a lot of elements that make this album really good and kudos on the positive review. However, I know that you stated it with a bit of an asterisk, but please don't use the term "cookie monster vocals;" it just comes off as being uninformed.

The death metal genre can be quite limiting, but there have been several good, and even great, releases this year.

  • Happy to see this album is getting an overall positive review. Great album indeed.

  • As a big fan of filthy rotten death metal (early 90's is where it's at) I'm also interested in other genres, leaving the mind open without any judgement. This is one of my reasons to return to this channel. From Kanye West & Jay-Z to Toxic Holocaust & Disma. Respect to one of the few people on here that have a unbiased & honest opinion on music. And I really love the new Autopsy album..

  • Agree with everything in the review, except the fact that the new Autopsy album is the best metal comeback album ever.

  • If it wasn't for the metal reviews I probably wouldn't have found this channel in the first place.

  • fuckin close-minded metal haters. this album slays

  • @RickRoerig well, i like 'em. :-)

  • so what you're saying is that you like your death metal cliched then-- maybe you're looking in at the scene from a hipster perspective, but there's much more on lyrically than just campy blood and guts.

  • @mikebott when i said those things, i didn't really mean lyrically. i just meant that i like my DM horrifying, shocking, and extreme. the new wave of pristine-sounding DM bands have gravitated away from that. i don't see how it's a "hipster" perspective. to be extreme was the reason bands like napalm death and morbid angel formed, wasn't it?

  • @theneedledrop perhaps i did jump the gun, but what i heard in the original clip reminded me too much of the argument i often hear that extreme metal could be 'rehabilitated' if it just dropped the intense subject matter, as if that's all metal does and ignoring the fact that lyrics about suffering and abjection can have philosophical heft btw, if you want some truly primitive sounding dm, check out japan's coffins

  • Tempo changes, huh?

  • @jmoran231 uh, yes.

  • DEATH METAL review, thank you soooooooooooooooo mutch!!!

  • Anthony, please do a review of Shining - VII: Född förlorare, i know that you like more ambitious black metal music so when you will have time, please check it out

  • I find that *enter-your-subgenre-here*-metal album covers suffer from a disturbing lack of creativity.

  • Man, this is such a great album. I streamed it on NPR's website a while back. Can't wait for the vinyl release!

  • lol no joke i dont like any of the reviews you do that arent metal reltaed lol

  • @kimimaro9876 it's ok.

  • @theneedledrop its no offense to you:]

  • METAL REVIEWS!!! WOOOOOOOOO!

  • YES MEATL REVIEWS

  • Headphones?

  • Whats your listening gear anyway?

  • hey anthony you should check out a band called black dahlia murder, maybe you've heard of them, they are pretty brutal.

  • MORE METAL REVIEWS!

  • Please review Fleshwrought. I actually just want to get you to listen to their album. kgo

  • @kennethsantanaguitar Don't waste his time by encouraging him to listen to shitty bands, dude. Fleshwrought is mediore.

  • @Steve128967 Say's the kid who likes septic flesh...lmao If you can't recognize the attention it took to create dementia/dyslexia don't blame yourself. You obviously like your music with a theme and that's okay but don't go starting internet fights. My statement wasn't directed to you, so carry on.

  • @kennethsantanaguitar Septic Flesh's shit up until whatever album came out in 2008 was fantastic, however keep in mind the stuff listed on my channel hardly reflects my listening taste as it hasn't been updated in at least two years. /eyeroll

I can recognize the fact that A) almost every song sounds the same, the only two standout tracks are the first and second ones, the production sucks, and pretty much all the riffs after the first 2 are entirely mediocre. Listen to some Gorguts.

  • @Steve128967 Gorguts is a good band, but you're trying to compare music from over two decades ago. The technicality has evolved so much since then and it's evident in Navene's drumming and guitar skills. The production is awesome. Live cymbals and drums, toms sampled by addictive drums, lots of fills left un-quantized>podfarm DI's into Nuendo. It's a self release for gods sake. You're an idiot!

  • @kennethsantanaguitar Good, uuuuuh... well, Obscura is one of the best death metal albums of all time, and it doesn't matter how technical it is or isn't (though a lot of it is pretty hard, but that isn't the aim).

Also, given that you feel the need to point out superficial crap concerning the production, given that the end result is just shit, I will assume you pay attention to only aesthetics and your opinion is therefore worthless. Please say no to mediocrity.

  • this record is great from what I've heard of it. I tried to pick it up at the record store today but I couldn't remember what it was called. :( Great cover art, you forgot to mention.

  • With this album's review, the Ulcerate review... is theneedledrop going to continue doing more Death Metal album reviews?

And what about you, Anthony? Are you just now starting to appreciate death metal or do you have a long history of being into it?

  • I like your quasi-Hitler stache.

  • @rsfaan91 No don't get me wrong, Im not hating on tnd. I think Anthony has a very unique style of reveiwing. However, he is on top right now, and I was meerly sugesting that he reveiw albums that hadnt been covered yet. Because he does a lot that have already been reveiwed. Just throwing in my 1/2 cent's worth of constructive feedback.

  • great fucking review. also I think you would love *Shels new album, You don't have to review it, just listen to it. It's great.

  • You sold me. Incantation's Upon The Throne of Apocalypse is in my top 5 favorite albums of all time, I'll be checking this out. His vocals are god-tier.

  • im liking the sunn shirt...

  • @ceviche22 You don't know music then.

  • @ceviche22

    In your ignorant opinion.

  • @ceviche22 ok, well, i'll just enjoy it then. :-)

  • @theneedledrop Man I hate when I see witty comebacks but it's a witty comeback to a removed comment... I shall forever wonder what asshatery he was trying to pull.

  • @ceviche22 troll

  • @ceviche22 personally i don't even consider this a reasoned critique

    ...complete garbage

  • @ceviche22 well thats your diluted ignorant opinion. :)

  • @ceviche22 Opinions.

  • Yeah you gotta love Craig Pillards vocals. Onward To Golgotha is my favorite album and Craigs voice is a large part of that. Not my favorite vocal performance on Onward, but the least gimmicky for sure. It's just an all around scary album.

  • (hug) Thanks for this review

    =D

  • @That667Guy *hugs hugs hugs*

  • @theneedledrop F*** the people who dont like Metal reviews :P people with an open mind can jump from jazz to death metal anytime :)

  • @BlackMetalWorld I do that all the time bro (rym'er markjazz).

  • @damnote swag ;)

  • @BlackMetalWorld Bro, I've jumped from hip-hop, jazz, metal, porngrind, post-rock everything.

  • @JoyceJennings porngrind is wierd :P

  • @BlackMetalWorld Lol, exactly. I find it hilarious.

  • @JoyceJennings haha, you have a good sense of homour :)

  • @BlackMetalWorld Amen!

  • so how bout a metal/thrash review with a negative score, eh?

  • While watching this review I started getting scared... but it was like in an old horror movie where they just have to look through the door. I went and listened to some Disma, and was... pleasantly surprised. It almost gets rid of all of the things that put me off metal, the vocals still didn't do a lot for me, but the music was actually pretty good. Metal as a genre still doesn't seem to really be for me but this was pretty cool.

  • Review Curren$y's Weekend at Burnie's

  • Metal fan here, never got into death metal as a genre though... but damn, this is POWERFUL. I mean like.... Soul ripping. Thanks for introducing!

  • guitars are a bit too fuzzy for me. I prefer bands with a sharper clean sound. Gojira are bringing out a new album soon i believe.

  • I love metal music, and your metal reviews are why I started watching your channel. Thanks for posting this one!

  • Anthony do you dislike Opeth? Y U no liek Opeth?

  • @PrivateBuckwheat because simply they became just a commercial band, and they are not making music anymore, i mean after the first two albums... then they got famous then they throw their drummer away and lost the guitarist... and lost their real soul. *My Opinion*

  • @TheMsalool I respect your opinion, but our interpretations of their music are different. I honestly have barely even listened to Opeth's first two albums, but I really like their more recent work. I didn't listen to much metal when I first listened to Opeth, and their more melodic sound kind of worked as a gateway into heavier music; now I can enjoy bands like Disma. I might enjoy them more if their music was less monotonous, but I like ambient drone music so who am I to talk?

  • you didn't like Macabre Eternal? Why not?

  • Fuck yes! This album rules. Please fuck my bitch Mr. Fantano.

  • im only here for the metal

  • You didn't like the new Autopsy? Wai not?!?!

  • dude if that's what you like in deathmetal, PLEASE check out and review FREEVIL BURNING by Freevil. i think pretty much the only way to find it is on itunes though

  • I'm pretty sure I'm a sweatier music nerd.

  • There are WAY too many rock/indie/alternative fans on here for a metal review to be fully appreciated.

  • @reignmastermystery ur right but i appreciate when he review metal

  • @thescrewdriver1000 Not always. sometimes it's about history, math, science, grief, anger,

  • @SethGoTribe an arguement i've tried so often to make, to no avail....

  • While I'm not the biggest fan of metal, one thing i can say is I absolutely love the cover art on this album. Other than that, I just don't understand how this is enjoyable

  • fuck yes disma is awsome!

  • lol "purist" my ass. you aren't even a real fan, you just listen for the shock value, the "irony", the production, like a guy who befriends a retard, gives him thumbs ups, builds him up with words but then when he's not paying attention looks over at his real friends and laughs mockingly. try grasping the composition for once, then we'll see if you're a true fan.

  • @ventilatedzygote

after that comment its obvious that You deserve to be 1mpaled by a GIANT ALIEN PHALLUS! let's write a song about that, I would love to hear Wormed perform it. with pounding drums that will be technically as deep dicking on your ears as that alien phallus will be physically Deep dicking your cadaver. This is u bro this is u ****gargle gargle gargle gargle*****

  • @SethGoTribe i think that's a bit of an overreaction.

  • @MrSplatterPlatter metal reviews will never die. Hails \m/

  • I agree with the top comment. Please review the new Opeth track. PLEASE.

  • @kooldawgdizzle coolstorybro

  • thank you for this review. i'm kinda like this dark dirty old rotten style of death metal. if you do like disma than check definitely Funebrarum's Sleep of Morbid Dreams and Dead Congregation's Graves of the Archangels out!

  • Whenever you get around to it, could you review Mastodon's new song Black Tongue from their upcoming album The Hunter?

  • Good review. Much respect for such a honest review. Disma is a evil beast.

  • YESSSSS FIIIIINNNAALLLYYYYYYY

  • im gonna put "cute" in the reaction box.

  • Fuck Yes! Metal Review!!!

  • Ur next review should be on Moses campbell or a Batwings Catwings

  • have you ever considered making your own album

  • Are you disillusioned? misguided? Am I?

  • Please review the new Neon Indian track that just dropped...

  • If any of you are seriously pissed that he's doing a metal review.............JUST DON'T WATCH THE FUCKING VIDEO AND LEAVE IT ALONE.

    Case closed.

  • @MrSplatterPlatter

Hey man, watching the needle drop is a basic morning ritual for me.

If he reviews a metal album it's like finding out the cereals box is empty.

However, I'm gonna have my cereals.

  • Dude. As a huge fan of death metal, I am sooo glad you reviewed this. I had never even heard about this record!

  • Please review cerebral ballzy's debut album

  • you must get paid to review albums..... this is utter crap....WTF?!

  • anthony u need to review more punk rock

  • I love your metal reviews, am I the only one?

  • @ultraviolence6655321 Nope! I love 'em too!

  • @EyeAmAhab That's an awesome song by the way.

  • So happy you liked this. So so happy.

  • I love how passionate you are about this album. I love that feeling. When the breakdown gets super fucking intense and chills of doom slither up your spine and into your neck. Hot damn HE GAVE THIS A 9 BECAUSE IT DESERVES A F****** 9.

  • I know this is metal but i think the new moonface album needs a review

  • review clams casino album

  • This isnt metal but .... you should review at SOME point Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi - "ROME"

  • @theneedledrop I just felt like I was listening to the same track over and over and over again...

  • @MsKissShot yeah, i'm pretty sure i read that in the bible.
