Great video. Currently going through ATC on the job training to receive my first facility rating at a TRACON. It can be VERY stressful and difficult at times.
@propilotcfi went to beaver idk where you went but its pretty tough man... if i went to OKC right now itd be a fuckin cakewalk just need to get there thats all believe me ive paid my dues just gotta get in now ill worry bout the facility later
@youngestpilotinGa ARTCC deals with IFR flights en route to thier destination they cover a HUGE area and deal with aircraft at Flight Levels as well as provide certain mandatory services when workload permits.. tracon's radar only extends out so far and there procedures are a little differant basically Tracon exits to relieve a little pressure off the ARTCC's
@flgtrfan I just graduated the CTI program this month and i'll tell you it was probably the hardest thing ill ever do in my entire life.. every CTI school is differant what school are you planning on attending?
@DirtyDangles22 i graduated a CTI program almost 4 years ago...and believe me...the hardest thing you will ever do is getting certified in a faciility...the CTI program is all great and everything but your in for a rude awakeneing if you think thats the hardest thing you will ever do
@youngestpilotinGa Consider ARTCCs to be interstates. They handle the long haul part of your flight at cruising altitude/speeds. TRACONs are kinda like main 4 lane roads; they handle the part of your flight shortly after takeoff; then they handle your flight as you get closer to your destination, kind of like getting you from the "interstate" to your "neighborhood" (the airport, or terminal). Then the Terminal guys in the tower get you from the "highway" to your "house" and vice versa.
Im currently a CTI student studying ATC enroute and man i cannot wait to get in there my father is ATC enroute in Cleveland and i cant wait to do this
@DirtyDangles22 I'm gonna start a CTI program in two weeks, what should I expect? Is it harder, easier, or about the same of what you thought it would be?
