Anyway, I wanted to say thanks for posting. This is a very good sounding example of what a skilled pair of hands can do with a good 12-string. Man, I wish I had the cash for one.......I mean a decent one, I am not wasting my money on a cheap one, it isn't worth it. Cheap electric? Sure, I can swap out pickups, etc, but acoustic? Nope.

I wish I could afford a 12-string. Sounds good bro. CF Martin makes some pretty amazing stringed instruments. I got this old Vega from when they owned Vega, and it has a really gorgeous cedar 2-piece top. It's neck is broken and repaired by an amateur, she put 2 wood screws in the heel. Now the neck can't even be reset, and I can't even break the joint to take it off.....so anyway, I am thinking, as high as the action is, I am going to just file the frets down to almost flush with the FB....

a little bit more but it's not the problem. the problem is that 12 strings are harder to play than 6, in general you need to tune it down. so try one, it's the only way to know if it's possible for you :)

No, not really. It's roughly the same size, but Martins are huge guitars to begin with, giving them that amazing full sound.

i was wondering, i recently got a 12 string, and i use it with standard tuning, but barre chords are like really tough, are these guitars not meant to be played with barre chords or maybe i should just grow strong hands ? :P

The point is the sound. It's beautiful. A normal six string can't produce that kind of sound, even with brand new strings.
