  • I have that. so does my son and my sister. Its not a seisure, cuz my boyfriend has those. If the cat was on its legs it would be walking. I've done that and tried to beat the shit out of my mom who tried to wake me up when i was like that. The cat is either "startling" or sleep walking, I do both in my sleep, so I sympathize with the cat.

  • awww

  • The cat may be having a nightmare during REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement)-which causes dreams. In the dream, he/she may be running. A seizure in sleep is only 15% possible, as it could be harmful. Sorry aboit you cat.

  • My cats doing this too! But wayyyy crazier... she falls off beds and stuff too :( I though it was seizures but it literally happens almost constantly while shes sleeping, which lead me to think its her dreaming. Its never happened while she was awake and it happens every night in her sleep. Does this sound like your cat? What type of seizures did they say it was?

  • @mbonacc It might be just dreaming. I never had the neurological testing done. My cat is 16 years old and she didn't used to do this. She urinates on herself when she does this sometimes which makes me think it's more than just dreaming. She can be on the couch and instantly end up in the floor because she jerks her body so hard. Maybe it's nothing to worry about except we have to be very careful to watch where she sleeps so she doesn't fall off of something.

  • i have a cat who had this too. she is just remeberig movements before

  • AWWWW THATS SAD!!!!!!

  • its like a reaction when they dream... just like us

  • @HUNDEMAXIMMUS Oh thank you. I hope you're right!

  • @neomatrix24 How is she doing?

  • Both

  • aw :D i wonder what she's dreaming about ^_^

  • I brush my cat several times a day I have several brushes. She's about a million years old so she's very calm.

  • rem disorder mayben

  • lol

  • My cat does the same thing. She is fine, she is just dreaming.

  • I am currently dealing with this exact problem. They have done blood work on her but have not given us any conclusions. Its been two days. She urinated on herself today and her "seizures" or whatver the are only get worse. What was the outcome for your kitty and did she have a diagnosis?? I'm very worried about my cat.

  • Well, my vet said she's just dreaming and there was nothing he could do! She is so healthy other than this now. She had surgery after her embolism to remove bladder stones which were likely the cause of the embolism so she continues to do this in her sleep and often falls off of things and pees on herself. I continue to try to make her sleep in safer places and that's about all we can do.

  • Ours is on aphynabarbitol. First her dose was too high a dose and she was stiff as a board and couldn't walk. We rushed her to the nearest pet neurologist. We discovered it was the meds making her stiff. Now we give her very small doses, and if she get signs of stiffness we won't give her the next dose. She has about 85% less seizures and hasn't urinated on herself in awhile. We too don't let her sleep on anything high like the couch or tree house. Sucks she can't be a normal cat anymore.

  • Oh thank you so much for telling me what's happening for your cat. I'll ask my vet about this!

  • LMFAO! Had to get that out of my system. Atleast i got the balls to admit it was funny for a split sec.

    ~Serious~

Anyways You should go see a vet for that.

Anyone who wants to waste there life trying to reply me and talking all kinds of shit go ahead ill just ignore.

  • lolz :)

  • Hey it is funny...sometimes I just have to watch her and laugh...and then I wake her up or she wakes herself up falling off of things or jumping 3 feet.

  • aww i feel bad i hope shes ok

  • The cat can't walk and has been peeing on herself for several days; so, between helping her with all that, washing her several times a day, hand feeding/watering with syringes, yes she doesn't get brushed while she's sleeping, and that was the 7th time she had one of these fits so sorry her hair gets mussed. She's not very calmed by anything since she can't figure out why her legs don't work! Thanks for the advice.

  • I dont know how your kitty is doing now, but my cat had similar problems about 2 years ago. She had a seizure while sleeping and fell off the couch. she didnt hurt herself falling, but the seizure had caused her to lose movement in her hind legs. we took her to the vet and he diagnosed her with only few weeks to live. it was devistating for us. we ended up euthenizing her for her own good. she would urinate on herself too. it was just something we could save. how is your cat doing?

  • Sorry it took so long to reply. I didn't know I had so many comments somehow. My cat has continued to have the seizures and sometimes pees on herself when she has them but she's much healthier otherwise.
