I was perscribed this medicine too. It is EXACTLY like he describes!!!! Battery acid is it! I used it 1 time and in the trash it went! What sucks is the pain does not kick in for a few seconds so you have enough time to put it up both nostrils before the pain kicks in! Devil spray! Oh and by the way I used it exactly as directed and it still BURNS!
Jon, you're a big baby. I've taken Sprix. The burn is not that bad! But you're also not taking Sprix correctly. Don't snort, just spray. And spray towards the outer part of your nasal cavity, not towards the septum! Try again and report back!
The reason it's burning so much is because Jon is snorting the medicine into the back of his sinuses--such as you would a nasal steroid--where the nasal mucosa is much more sensitive. However, this is a different type of medication, requiring a different technique: 1) Align the spray away from the septum (center of the nose); 2) Spray the medication into the nose, but don't snort/sniff the medication further into the nasal cavity. Although it will still burn, it will hurt less. Good luck!
