Looks like great kayaking ... and you caught a painted turtle too! I would think they would be hard to catch. I used to keep both southern and western painted turtles as pets for many years - looks like a good-sized female! Thanks for checking out our Sierra kayak adventure - it is a great place!

Hi Lisa - Thanks for stopping by, it was nice to hear from you. We all love the water too. When the kids were younger, we practically lived on it. We have a bigger boat and we were on it constantly. We always enjoyed sleeping over and anchoring in different bays of the lake. The best time to be on the lake is in the evenings and early mornings.

Hiya Slim - Go figure Slim, he's supposed to be chasing little black things that run through the grass, and instead he's chasing big white things that run on top of the grass. I'm going to have to send him back to mouser school... Concerning ice fishing, used to go all the time. Not as much nowadays though. My hands can't take the cold like they used to. Did have a lot of good times out on the ice, but there were a lot of miserable times too. Just getting to the ice sometimes was a chore.

Howdy Mel - it was fun, we enjoy going out kayaking. We have a bigger boat, but bigger's not always better (unless you're talking about me, then bigger is DEFINITELY better, hehe). We enjoy going along the shorelines exploring. You never know what you'll find. The kayaks are so quiet it's easy to get close to wildlife. We thought the mushroom was pretty cool too. I wish the picture was a little clearer. We found a lot of turtles, but you have to watch it for those Freddy claws. They hurt!
I ran out of room Mel! I figure a lot of people won't even see the video at the end because they'll stop watching at the end title. That's why I made the shout-out to you so you would know there was more. Those cats are too playful for their own good! He'll get his one of these days! They are supposed to be chasing mice, not the ducks and geese. Don't worry about that goose, he takes care of himself. He grabbed hold of one of our dogs once and wouldn't let go. And I mean he WOULDN'T LET GO! lol
