  • True mountain music.

  • my nana used to sing that

  • que fea.

  • Write in English, so everyone can understand you. I did however. You called her ugly. Well, I agree with you, she is not the purdiest lady in West Virginia. BUT, this is not a beauty contest, she's singing, with emotion. That's the problem with music nowadays: somehow musical talent and exterior beauty became dependent on each other. Today, all singers are good looking. I miss the time when old, ugly sumbitches would play and sing music that truly came from the heart, like this woman just did.

  • I'm sorry you feel that way.

  • I ain't.

  • Well said brother.

  • Right on

  • @MSfeller Cheers for posting about the music industry's shameful preference for the income-generating potential of the fleeting Image of visual beauty over the enduring Power of the music itself AND the raw Authenticity of the musician. It's mind-boggling to me how such temporary and essentially misguided concern with Image can trump such incredible Power and Authenticity. I figure most folks eventually "see" such Power and Authenticity, but only after the visual aspect fades in importance.

  • @MSfeller well said =)

  • I like how she sings - alot. :)

  • God Bless Her!

  • sweet little ladie... i love the whites... they are amazing strange. but she sings very nicely.

  • Makes Me Want To Cry. RIP Hiram.

  • Did some research. In a 2004 Charleston Daily Mail article, it states that Jesco was 48 and Norma Jean was 65 at the time.

  • If I remember right, she was several years older than Jesco. She's over 60, I'd say.

  • she is a very good singer, in my opinion...is she still alive?

  • You can't beat that man, thats good soul music! Any of these punks that don't think so apparently didn't grow up right!

  • awe...that was pretty.

  • absolutly beautiful

  • The song is called "The Death of Hank Williams" and was written and recorded by WALA (Mobile, AL) DJ Jack Cardwell on 01-01-1953. It was the first recorded tribute song released after Hanks death.

  • Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure when Norma said it was her song if she meant her arrangement of it or the actual song. She said that she had changed some words from an older song. I'd love to hear the original and will look for it. Thanks again for the info!

  • @acidphazzze6 she changed a few words didnt she ,,,cause the tune sounds identical but the words seem a bit different,,,i havent heard the death of hank in a long time but good one none the less
