This guy is a mutant. I'm roughly his size and was benching in the mid to high 300's in high school and this looks like me with an 18 lb bell. I can't even do the 44lb bell 200 times in 10 mins yet, and doing it in 13 mins made me almost vomit. He looks like he is playing croquet or something. Absolutely amazing. I may try to go to his Houston workshop next month. Holy crap, I really can't believe his level of strength and endurance. Wow.
@CSCHNOZZ I dont know if you know bro, he has a workout channel, Vfworkout where he shows his daily workouts. You are right though, he isn't human. I think he was grown in a Russian test tube somewhere
he is not at all large- if memory serves probably <5'9" and in competition shape i believe he said he weighs <180#
bear in mind that the 53# [24K] is a Pro style bell that is the same size as a cast iron 70# [32K].
and yes it is the sport style- they compete for TIME-- 10 straight minutes of Snatch- 1hand change- and 10 minutes of double jerks, like nothing i've ever experienced in 25 years of slinging iron.
I take it all back. The exercise is unbelievable. I can barely clean and press 85kgs. To lift a 60kg kettlebell like this is amazing. I apologice for provoking such a debate.
i think this is the sport version of the snatch so if you did it from the ground everytime you would be disqualified and you would also look pretty dumb.
kr050 isn't wrong. Snatching from the ground is a explosive training method. This method is for high reps and you use the swing and momentum so you can get the hig reps without the real possibility of injury from high reps using the off the ground method. The high reps and swing snatch developes strong enurance muscles in the posterior chain. There is alot of ways to do snatches and reasons for each.
I'm surprised he isn't whistling while doing this. Looks so effortless.

this is all momentum, try snatching it from the ground every time.

The kettlebell snatch exercise doesn't start from the ground, it starts from the swing.

I must be an idiot, I've offended the American kettlebell association. Its a ridiculous exercise. It is all momentum.

There is the dead hang snatch. Which is a driven by the hips. Wait, kinda like the regular snatch.
