  • I think its a boeing 737, is it right? very nice approach

  • Awesome graphics :))))

  • @Khazar01 This Life !

  • so he didnt come in on ils on autopilot? (i never heard him disengage autopilot during the clip). was he watching the ils indicatiors on his monitors and flying it manually?

  • During rainshower approach, why not open wiper?

  • @gxma02241

because very loud and flying IFR, wenn RWY insight, no longer wiper needed

  • @flythetube Yes, i understand , thank you !

  • Some PAPI's/VASI's are set for larger aircraft. E.g 777, 747 where the cockpit is higher and therefore would see a normal glide indication. Nice in southern france is an example where they are set for larger aircraft. I used to fly there in a 737 and you would get 3 reds and 1 white and be on the glide slope.

  • if u below a bit its not a prob.Lots of pilot using this on the night time.Less loud when u need to stop.

  • @chiccoka

This is not recommended in a larger jet.....

  • amazing

  • what plane is this?

  • 400, *cracks open a can of fizz* quality

  • Nice video. You stayed on the gauges.

  • Are you pilot?

  • Very nice video!

  • Want to know a good sign that you are doing your job correctly? You make it look easy.

    This looked easy.

  • That is PAPI not VASI.

VASI is vertical and have 3 lights.

  • Good Job .

  • the pilots where to low cuz he had 1 white and 3 red lights what means he was to low

  • @marklins1

    @CaptainBergs

Remember the limitation of the VASIS.

The VASIS is only usable above 200 Ft and during heavy rain the VASIS might give a false indication due to light refraction. If you listen to the radio altimeter you notice that the threshold was crossed at 50 Ft. The A/C was on glide all the time.

  • @flythetube ah k thank you for the information are you a real pilot or something?

  • @marklins1

Nope, Sorry, just a guy with some knowledge...

  • @flythetube

those are PAPI not VASIS right?

  • @flythetube

those are papi lights right, not vasis

  • @MrBowie08 PAPI is a kind of VASIS (Visual Approach Slope Indicator System). ;)

  • @flythetube actually, those are PAPI systems on that runway, VASI's are the ones with two lights in front and two in back (if you follow the VASI GS you should end up between the two lighting systems) just so ya know....

  • @flythetube I BELIEVE THOSE A RE THE PAPI..............

  • @flythetube yup and as you can see the VASIS give you a glide profile ( 3 degrees ) to the 1,000ft markers and thats where the aircraft began the flare

  • @flythetube PAPI's, not VASIS

  • Very good landing!

  • judging by the low height of the nose and the classic american callouts i can be safe in assuming that this is a 737?

  • LOVED THE VID MAN... ANY MORE????????????

  • perfect!

  • MÜNCHEN <333, deine videos sind super qualität

great quality videos... für welche airline fliegst du?

  • did it stop raining the moment you land?

  • Hey I know that ILS landing can get u to the runway even wen u can see anything but what about maintaining ur altitude? how is that controlled ?

  • Shower? thats an understatement!

  • U had 3 red on short final, man thats pushin it in a plane that big.

  • @CaptainBergs

Remember the limitation of the VASIS.

The VASIS is only usable above 200 Ft and during heavy rain the VASIS might give a false indication due to light refraction. If you listen to the radio altimeter you notice that the threshold was crossed at 50 Ft. The A/C was on glide all the time.

  • @flythetube ahhh, crap, my bad, i forgot about the 200ft rule, my apologies. and if the glide slope says it was good, then it sure was. thanks for the correction

  • @CaptainBergs

No Problem. I usually pay special attention that every Video in this channel i flow strict by the rules.

  • @flythetube there PAPI... not VASI

  • I'm in awe.

  • AMAZING video!

  • great

  • Amazing!!, I never had seen a video like this one before. Simply the best.

  • I love this video, super nice. Regards Sweden

  • Amazing landing..wonderful view from cockpit...That's the thing..

  • Great

  • The videos on this channel are great, real 'warts-n-all' flying. keep up the good work!

  • "The flaming runway" :-)

  • NIce!!!!

  • Great landing :) flared right where he shouldve!

  • Good pilots!

Heavy rain, but they made a good and soft landing

  • wow the runway lights look like there lit up on fire

  • Nice video, it seems that in germany the weather condition isn't so good ^^

  • what¿¡avion iss

  • Really great video, one thing i gotta give you some, positive, feedback on is that you dont zoom and you film from the glareshield, i love that because so many videos are of jumpseats that zoom so much it looks like the airplane is traveling at 30km/h.

    Nice

  • @zaphr89

Well, I will pass this on to the participating crews. One thing is, that below a certain altitude they have more important things to do than to fiddle around with the camera.

  • @flythetube Sorry, i expressed myself a bit vague, what i mean is that i like how the camera is close to the "nose" (or on top of the glareshield) and that you/they dont zoom :) So i dont want anything to be changed hehe

  • just get right on it ok mate, make sure you fix it, yeah i agree with Zaphr89

  • @zaphr89 I absolutely agree! Zoom lenses should be banned from cockpits. And many other places.

  • @zaphr89 i completley agree with what your saying,a nice video well filmed! zooming in causes too much jerking from the camera and not such an enjoyable view.

  • look at 0:57 it looks like the runway is in flame xD

  • Nice video indeed! The runway lights look like if they are on fire due to the rain :)

Could you please make also videos from Dusseldorf airport while you depart from runway 05L and then fly the NOR 2Z or COL 1Z or DODEN 3Z or KUMIK 1Z or NUDGO 1Z? Plz plz plz plz!!! I can see a lot of planes departing from DUS and flying over my house, but there is hardly a video from the above-mentioned departure :(

  • @LufthansaDAIGO

    I´ll forward this request......

  • VASI always remain lit. Regardless of the conditions.

  • I though flight simulator was though. ;) You have sit back and think, wow pilots do this every day. I'll be honest though as much as I Love the games and the videos I still can't stand to fly, gives me gray hairs every time. One little noise and I think oh god we're going to crash. Awesome video makes me feel a bit better!

  • @ChrisFromCali

thanx for your comment. this is one of the reason i´m posting videos!

  • beautiful.

  • which airport is that?

  • Runway lights looks as if they are burning

  • And the runway is dry! 0_о

  • nice landing, soft touchdown and which plane is this??? CRJ ???

    and good ILS aproach !

  • What's the female voice saying at 0:23?? Something '...right...'

    BTW, nice vid.

  • Sorry the time is wrong... It's a few secs before the stated time.

  • what does CAT ||| mean?

  • @stunner629 its a type of ILS landing system!

  • what aircraft is this

  • @whwa380 B737

    I guess classic, not NG

  • very good video

    thanks

  • smooooooth

  • What happens if u hit 1 of the lights?

  • @Coolboez305 Nothing. They are so hard, it doesn't matter. By the way, you allways hit the runway light while take-off and landing. That's the bumpy sound you hear.

  • oh ok. thanks

  • @patty2808 the bumpy sounds has nothing to do with the lights... its just random bumps on the runway and also the aircraft is actually flexible ;)

  • Of course it does. I read it onboard an airberlin flight in the companys magazine.

  • read my reply above ;)

  • Also not. A friend of me flies with me (I fly B737NG KLM) and he records as well. He came with the same question as people have here. It's because at touchdown, we brake (speed brakes etc.) so the plane shakes a bit (I think caused by the reversers), so the camera on the dashboard shakes as well and goed up and down on it, that's why you here the sound.

All lights are integrated for the people who do think otherwise ;)

  • @jesuistahmid sure these are the lights

  • As long as the plane lands beyond the threshold that behind the green lights, it's fine, otherwise if touches down before the green lights, it will hit the lights which then becomes an accident.

  • i dont know where you fly but, those threshold lights are definately flush with surface so if you run over them nothing will happen, your an idiot......

  • you don't... the lights on the runways/taxis are flat and integrated into the surface.

  • not too sure why you got two thumbs down, you are right that other guy is an idiot.....

  • @sk8rguy178 Lol, thanks!

  • Rwy lights look like fire!!

  • awesome..

what rules was used VFR or IFR I think it's IFR is that right ?

  • Definitly IFR

  • seems to be a bigger jet and the weather was terrible. so i think IFR

  • Do you know what the VFR minimas are?

    ...It's IFR.

  • @BlackTwister999 the weather was definitly ifr only. Ha Ha

  • Great Video, As said by you its really surprising to see rwy dry.

And does it help in rain condition to fly litlte low on Glide Slope?

  • Is that a trick question :-)

  • ohh not at all ;)

What I wanted to know was, does that help to be little low and have a smooth landing in wet condition, as because of Wet condition the landing distance would be more I believe. As I am a Virtual Simmer, I wanted to know more about it. :)

  • OK, I´ll find it out.

  • Thank you So much,

  • And here the reply

    -----------

No, it is not advisable to go below the glide-slope in a large airliner.

Why he is getting the impression that we were low during the approach? Because of the VASIS? Well, the VASIS is only usable above 200 Ft. During heavy rain the VASIS might give a false indication due to light refraction. If you listen to the radio altimeter you notice that the threshold was crossed at 50 Ft.

    ------

  • Exactly I thought that because of VASI, My apologies I should have also noticed that Alt Call out, Thank you So much on the insight. will be helpful to me on my virtual Flights :). Your videos are also very educative, Thank you again for Great Upload and also to PIC for the reply ;).

    Regards

    Abhay

  • My pleasure, enjoy

  • there PAPI's not VASI'S

  • On wet runway soft landings should be avoided due to the possibility of aquaplaning what can lead to loss of control. But in this case there was no standing water on the runway.

  • Nice landing!
